BTS is a 7 member kpop group that debut in 2013 when the youngest was 15. So they have worked hard for a very long time. When some of them were very young. The youngest now just turned 20 September 1st. When they debut they were more hip hop focused but have done a lot of different genres since then. That's a big reason why they have such a huge fan base. Because they do a lot of different things. Another reason is they write and produce their own music. And their lyrics are always so beautiful and heartfelt. There are also one of the only kpop groups to take a stand about social issues in their songs. Because most kpop groups don't. Which is another reason why they are so popular. Bts does a lot of different genres which brings in a lot of different fans. The group consists of 4 vocalists and 3 rappers. I can promise you the rappers are so amazing. 2 of the 3 were underground rappers before joining BTS. Which was going to be a all rapper hip hop group until they changed their minds I guess. The vocalist are amazing as well. And put together it makes this group beyond compare. These boys have been trained like all kpop idols. Some of them were trainees for even 4 years. So this of course did not come easy to them. Obviously their talent was there but they had to work very hard to get where they are now. BTS always have subtitles on their music videos btw. BTS is a group of some of the kindest and most caring boys you will ever meet. They work so hard for us. And try to make us happy no matter what. Recently since their comeback just happened they were performing a lot. And they worked so hard one of them needed help standing because he was exhausted and another member had to help hold him up. They are very hard workers. They dance and sing live. Which is unbelievable. Sometimes they do use backing tracks but they are always singing with it as well. Which I understand considering most of their choreography is very hard. They won a billboard music award recently. Top social artist. They beat out Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, and Shawn Mendes. They also made a record of being the first kpop group to attend the BBMAS and the first to ever win an award. They also just preformed at the American Music Awards. And killed it. They are bringing a lot of light to Kpop and opening a lot of people's eyes to music of other cultures. All of their videos usually hit around 96 million views or more. They are very popular. BTS have already won a lot with their song DNA as well. They quickly became the most viewed Kpop group video in 24 hours. Which I think was 21M? I can't remember exactly. But their fan base is crazy and amazing. We are called the ARMY Because there are so many of us. ARMY stands for Adorable Representative MC for Youth BTS is an acronym for Bangtan sonyondan which translates to Bulletproof Boyscouts. Another one of their names is Beyond The Scene. BTS work very hard and have become very big. But they have stayed so humble as well. And even with all of their new fame they still care for us and interact with us. Even the international fans here in the U.S. as well. They live stream and talk with us. And record videos for us all the time. They always think of their fans first. And they are always worried and caring for us as well. These boys as so genuine and I'm so glad you took time out to react to them. I really hope you react to more of their songs. And hopefully even some live preformances because they are amazing.

So, obviously you like their hip hop songs. So, try listen the original mic drop, cypher 1-4, fire, dope, not today, etc. you would like it. You can search their live performance too. Its lit.

This song is about succeeding despite all naysayers through perseverance, hard work and honing their talents. They are basically telling the haters “look at how far we’ve come despite the odds. Keep on watching ussucceed when we won’t even notice you.” They were underdogs in the industry and was looked down upon because they came from a small company.

Constructive criticism. First people are going to get triggered by you pausing and talking. Don't sweat it, it's much more refreshing than those that just sit and stare. With BTS MVs it's important to pay attention to details though so focusing is important. They have great lyrics so CCs are a must, if you want to take it a step above the other you-tubers you can research some of the translators that explain the Korean double meanings and word choices, but even if you don't there are a lot of things to discuss, cinematography, choreo, etc.

They started as a hiphop based group but now they are doing more of EDM, pop, and mixtures of various genres. They can sing&rap&dance at the same time, being trained for so many years. Btw, nice reaction and I see that you are very open-minded toward songs from other countries. I sometimes see some western reactioners who are very confused at a song that is not "in English". This sometimes triggers me because certainly not all countries music industry revolves around American music. Thank you for taking time reacting to BTS and being open-minded!

I love when people who don't know Kpop assume that there are backup dancers. XD Seriously though, if this music is up your lane, check out BTS' songs (MV's have English subtitles and there are lyric videos with the translation for the other ones) like: 1. Baepsae - they talk about how adults push expectations on the younger generation (crowtit's - a small bird in Korea - vs. storks). 2. Cypher Series (1-4) - they basically roast their haters and it's the most epic thing in the world omg 3. Hip Hop Phile - a classic song about hip-hop and criticisms of them doing hip hop, but also the birth of RM. It's why they wanted to do music. 4. Autumn Leaves - about a crumbling relationship with some really cool imagery. 5. Danger - that's a classic 6. Spine Breaker - this song is hilarious because it's basically roasting people who have money and flaunt it, saying that they are breaking their parents backs. It's for people who take what they have for granted because BTS had to rise from being poor. 7. Not Today - one of ARMY's new anthems. 8. Ma City - where they boast about their hometowns in Korea. Actually, none of the boys are from Seoul. 9. Fire - one of BTS' greatest/most popular songs. 10. Come Back Home - it's actually a remake of another artist's song. *There are many good songs, especially hip-hop/rapping styled songs from their earlier days. Welcome to this Hell called ARMY. ;)

You won't regret. btw i like your reaction... try to listen/react to other BTS's songs like Blood sweat and tears, fire, save me, spring day, not today, cypher pt. 4, etc. For me, all BTS songs are bop, i can't choose :") thankyou *sorry for bad english :" *

This is BTS's song they made themselves, Steve Aoki remixed the song and Desiigner Featured in it on the Audio, you should definetely check out the original audio by BTS and the remixed by Steve audio with Desiigner:) this music video actually has the original versus except the 3rd one RM remade the verse in english, which was slso on the audio track with Desiigner being the only verse from this MV and the track is mostly English. BTW BTS Fans are all Ages, Genders, & Nationality, Just because your sisters like them doesn't mean they are a typical boy group, no thats so stereotypical, If you have an open mind about things you will discover so much more. Thanks for checking out BTS they deserve to be appreciated, they are so much more than another Boy group, they are world changing role models & performance professionals.

there's 7 of them and they are their own "backup dancers". in kpop most of the groups are trained dancers and they perform with full choreography even at their concerts. also yes, they're 100% kpop. the korean music scene has been influenced by western music, especially hip-hop for over 20 years now. it's not at all weird to see hip-hop influenced tracks in their industry. (they even have really popular shows like 'show me the money' or 'unpretty rapstar' which are rap competitions/showdowns for underground korean rappers. so yes, korea likes hip-hop a lot.) also, high quality music video production is a characteristic of kpop, if you'll watch more music videos in the genre you'll notice that they are very high-budget, most of bts' music videos are cinematic as hell, they even a series that has plot and tells a story. so yeah, kpop is awesome.

hey it's really cool that you liked this! BTS falls under the label of a Kpop group, but when the group debuted in 2013 their concept was a seven member hip hop group. So this song and the original non-remixed version of it really go back to their old hip hop-centric sound (the original version of this has an even dirtier beat imo). as they grew as artists they started to branch out with their sound and now they have a more global sound, but they still do come back to their hip hop origins. I'd recommend checking out Outro: Her which is from this album or any of their Cyphers (there are four of them, and we pretty much consider Mic Drop to be Cypher pt 5 right now). Those will probably be most suited to your taste. But all of their songs are definitely worth the listen! And just to let you know, all of their music videos have subtitles so just go to the cc button and you'll find them. if a song doesn't have subtitles there are always translated lyrics and lyric videos out there! most of their songs either have meaningful lyrics or a meaningful video (or both), so we try to make sure we know what they're saying.

Prepare yourself. You've asked for it xD If you want to skip KPop intro... Second comment is about BTS specifically. SOOO... Long comment ahead. Please, try to read it if you're interested in what you're watching. *ABOUT KPOP OVERALL* KPop (Korean Pop) is a music genre originating in South Korea that is characterized by a wide variety of audiovisual elements. Although it includes all genres of "popular music" within South Korea, the term is often used in a narrower sense to describe a modern form of South Korean pop music drawing inspiration on a range of styles and genres incorporated from the rest of the world such as Western pop music, rock, experimental, jazz, gospel, Latin, hip hop, R&B, reggae, electronic dance, folk, country and classical on top of its uniquely traditional Korean music roots. But it's not AMERICAN music. "Western", not American. Means anything west of South Korea. Just so you know, not everything comes from US. Americans take lots of inspiration from other cultures too. A lot I must say! More about genre you can read on Wikipedia. So, KPop artists (rappers, ballad singer, pop singers etc., they are all KPop) are called idols. Idol is usually someone who signed with an entertainment agency (not a "free" underground artist which artists without a company are called). It can be a singer, model or actor. There are lots of ent. agencies but there are three main and the wealthiest companies: SM, JYP, YG. Artists from these three agencies almost immediately become popular cause people in Korea tend to stan company as much as idols themselves. Music groups are VERY popular in Korea, especially among the younger generations (and by that I mean not only teens, but people up to 30s). There are MANY groups and each year companies produce more (about 5 to 10 debuts per year in Korea). But if group is not successful they are quick to disband. Usually... Sometimes they disband for other various reasons. There are not many long-living groups. They usually active for about 5-7 years only. It's not common to form a group or band by yourself. Not like in West where some group of friends decides to sing and make it their life goal. No! Young boys and girls audition for an agency at first (usually at a very young age like 12 yo). Then, depending on their personal talents, they are trained for years. They are trained in dancing, rapping, singing, performing (it's quite hard to sing while dancing hard-hitting choreo but idols are trained for it, so they are on another level in performances compared to Western artists), act, entertain, interact with fans (fan-service), etc. Companies form the group themselves. It's not up to trainees to decide when and with whom to debut. Sometimes trainees leave companies either because of the stress or because they can't wait anymore for debut. Unfortunately, lots of companies are known to treat badly their trainees and even idols who debuted AND are successful already. Idols work for about 10-16 hours per day, rarely have any vacations and don't usually see their families often. They also do not get payed a lot. Much MUCH less than almost any American artist. Basically, if you don't have any passion for music, then it's not really a place for you. It's a very hard job to be a KPop idol. "Idol" is also used for its direct meaning. Idols have to be ideal people. Even more than people. Any simple move can be criticized and ruin your career. It's changing a little bit now, but extremely slow. Idols have to look perfect (hence all the make up), have to act perfect, and literally belong to fans and company. Even dating is considered as a scandal. They have an image of perfect human beings. Well, usually. It's actually a lot harder for female idols than males. Korea is still very conservative in some views. Oh, and I forgot to point out that it's rare to find a girl&boy groups. They usually one-gender and have from 5 to 12 members. Groups consist of singers, rappers and dancers (although all of them dance). Sometimes companies will allow idols to participate in making and producing music but it rarely happens. That is a reason (sadly, cause they miss out on lots of talented people) why Koreans do not respect idols, despite their hard work. They don't consider them as real artists, just performers. I don't know if I'm missing some information. My head is kinda crammed with things to add, LOL. If you have questions, feel free to ask :)

*Now to BTS :)* Some basic info, the rest can be found either on Wikipedia or there is an amazing article about them: www.dazeddigital.com/music/article/36711/1/how-boy-group-bts-defied-the-odds-to-break-k-pop-s-borders BTS stands for: in English - Beyond The Scene; in Korean - BangTan Sonyeondan which translates to Bulletproof Boy Scouts. BTS are a 7-member KPop group under Big Hit Entertainment company with mainly hip-hop influences. Their rap line (their three rappers) is considered one of the absolute best in KPop scene and they are very respected by some of the greatest Korean underground hip-hop artists. Usually idol-rappers aren't considered as "real rappers" cause they just were trained to rap and aren't always that good at it, nor interested in it, and they also don't create lyrics for their rap. But two of BTS' rappers were underground rappers before joining their company which gives them the advantage. However, they are known to try and experiment with all genres and styles. You can see for yourself that throughout all of their albums they don't stick with one sound but still have that "BTS style" that KPop fans can recognize well. They are also known for their outstanding performances, hard and amazing choreography, consistently good music with deep and meaningful lyrics, but above all, for always participating in creating their music. All BTS' rappers are also lyricists and producers. Sometimes vocalists try it too :) They came from a very small company that was in debts and almost bankrupt but they skyrocketed in popularity in 2015 and saved their company. In 2016-2017 they've become a worldwide KPop phenomena xD BH ent. are becoming to be known for being one of the best agencies, even if not the best yet. As BTS' fans (ARMY is a fandom name) know, the group and the company is basically a family, not some puppets that bring money. BTS are famous for creating songs that criticize society and touches some taboo topics. They aren't afraid to speak up about what bothers them (heck! they've even roasted their own fans for being obsessed with them in the latest album (song 'Pied Piper')... they are good at dissing haters too, LOL). About members (by age), these are official positions: 1) Jin (real name Kim (family name first) Seokjin) - vocalist, visual 2) Suga (Min Yoongi) - lead rapper 3) J-Hope (Jung Hoseok) - lead rapper, main dancer 4) Rap Monster/Now just RM (Kim Namjoon) - main rapper, leader of the group 5) Jimin (Park Jimin) - lead vocalist, main dancer 6) V (Kim Taehyung) - vocalist 7) Jungkook (Jeon Jungkook) - main vocalist, lead dancer, sub-rapper and the maknae Maknae means the youngest in the group (Kookie is known as the "golden maknae" cause he's good at almost everything). Main - as for Westerners "leading", the best one... basically "main", LOL. Lead - second best... kinda. They are all good TBH. Visual - the most beautiful for Korean standards. Jin is indeed beautiful and got a nickname Worldwide Handsome xD BTW, BTS are all naturally beautiful. No one had any surgeries. But changing themselves is a common thing among idols, cause, as I've said, they have to be perfect. Both main dancers (J-Hope and Jimin) are professional dancers, not just people who dance well. But the whole dance line is amazing (J-Hope, Jimin and Jungkook) in their own ways. Leader in KPop is the one who communicates with company for the whole group. He is responsible for the group. Rap Monster is a great leader and a man of philosophy. He also has IQ 148 and I wanted to brag xD All three rappers are also producers (Suga was even called a genius producer of the new generation) and lyricists for BTS. Two of them have solo careers and their own mixtapes (they are amazing!): Suga (whose solo name's Agust D) and Rap Monster (who goes by simply RM... he had a collab song with Wale actually called "Change", you should check it out). Rapmon is the only member fluent in English. Again... If you have any questions, feel free to ask :) P.S.: apologies for any mistakes, English isn't my first language. It's my third ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

yeah they're a kpop group but they are heavily influenced by hip hop music, originally BTS was going to be just a group of rappers only and a lot of their older songs plus their Cyphers (pt 1,2,3&4) definitely show it. They have 7 members. RM is the leader as he's the original member and put the group together, the company they're with is called BigHit and is kinda small in korea so their success rn is a big deal. 3 of them are rappers who started off in the underground scene - J-Hope, RM, and Suga (aka Agust D). Then 4 Vocalists, - V, Jungkook, Jin and Jimin. all of them dance but the main frontline dancers are: Jungkook, J Hope (was in a streetdance crew before) and then Jimin (who has a background in contemporary dance and was top of his class in a well respected arts school in korea). These three are sometimes abbreviated to 3J check out their dance covers and bts dance practices. Agust D and RM (previously Rap Monster) have solo rap songs which go haarddd, But the vocalists are out of this world too, even live they dont need to lip sync, all 7 each have solo songs too on their album - check out Jimin's 'Lie' and V's 'Stigma', Jin's 'awake' also Jungkook does some covers on youtube ! V also covered Adele's someone like you J Hope has a mixtape coming soon! Jin and V also act a little the boys are involved in writing their songs, and production (Suga is good at producing) and also have some input into the choreography. Their live performances are even better ( also check out Born Sinner performance with subtitles). Their lyrics are also relevant talking about their own lives and social issues. The cinematography and concepts behind their music videos are crazy too, Save Me was done all in one shot as a KPOP group they had to train for a long time and didnt know if they would ever debut, they lived together for 3 years before debut, with hardly anything sleeping all in one room and asking people to come to free concerts, they really are the definition of started from the bottom. which is why i like them tbh theyre not as 'manufactured' as you would maybe expect. just remember to always put subtitles / captions on when watching any video or try to find one with [ENG SUB] ok this comment was so long

i think BTS is the only 1 K-POP boy band that make a hiphop/rap concept...so they "break' the rules (i dont know how to describe) of "boyband" concept...not many kpopers like the concept in the beginning....we know its hard for BTS to survive, even in korea itself coz they are not from THE BIG 3 agency. the competition of music industry in korea is just "no kidding" but now they already stand out outside korea...

Kpop isn't so much a genre, but an industry. It describes the biggest part of the Korean music industry and actually encompasses many different genres. So yes this is Kpop in that they came from this specific industry. BTS also covers many many genres, though, while always keeping an element of hip hop. Some of my favorite songs of thiers are thier more R&B slow jams

They are a kpop group but they incorporate the English language into parts of their song. This is actually the most we've heard English in there songs and the only reason for that is because this is a Remix they did with Steve Aoki and Desiigner when they came to the United States for the AMAs.

There are 7 members to BTS. Rappers are JHope, Suga and RM (order of raps in song). The vocal line is Jungkook, Jimin, V and Jin (in the screen shot where you ask how many members there are the line up is Jimin (blonde) in the front, Jungkook (L), V (R), JHope (L), Suga (R), RM (L) and Jin (R)). They are a KPop group that debuted in 2013. The lyrics are basically a diss to all of their haters. You can google it and find the translation. The majority of their songs are Korean with a bit of English thrown in. This version of MIC Drop is the most "English" version of any of their songs. The one that rapped in English is RM and he is the only member who is fluent in both Korean and English. He taught himself English.

Kpop is a blanket term. It involves all types of music, rap, hip hop, pop, rock, alternative, indie.etc. so it's just used as a blanket term, which people don't realise. You should really check out bts' old music. Go on spotify and check out their stuff from 2013-2015 you'll find some awesome gems there. Honestly bts fans vary in demographics. Though the young girls are the loudest and most obsessive online and offline... they have TONS (i mean tons) of male fans. I went to their concert and saw such a nice mix of people from all races, ages and genders. Bts can appeal to everyone because of their good music, rapping, dancing, videos, etc. I know America right now is trying to fit them into the "boyband" mold... but I feel they're an anamoly and deserve to be treated as such. I hope you check out more of their music! I also really recommend their Cypher series (it's a collection of songs over various albums that show off the rap skills of the bts rappers) I feel you'd LOVE cypher part 2... maybe even cypher part 4 Btw the song you're listening to in the video was mostly English lol. It's the first time bts sung this much in English.. it was a gift for their western fans who've given them so many great achievements. It's just 2/3 rap verses and the last bridge are in korean.

They’re KPop (even if normally they Music would be classified as HipHop/Rap) and there are 7 members in the group. If you read the captions you’ll now isn’t just about the looks, they’re amazing writing and producing their own. If you like something like this Baepsae, Cyphers, Boy Meets Evil. Idk I’m into rap and everything that Suga does is amazing to me, if you do a little research on him and you listen to his songs ugh! It’s amazing. First Love, Nevermind will give you a hint on him, but his solo mixtape It’s a lot more personal, personally The Last made me cry and So Far Away it really hits me.

I just loved when you said "Are they kpop? I don't think they are kpop!" Haha! The song is basically talking about their haters. You can probably see that in the English lyrics. They are 7. They don't have back up dancers because all of them can really dance af! They have the Rap line: Basically the Rapline are lyricist. They are all geniuses. J-Hope (Jung Hoseok): The first person rapped. He's also the best dancer of the group. He started as an underground dancer. Suga (Min Yoongi) : He's the one with bandana right after J-hope's verse. He is one of the first members that produced their own songs. He plays piano very well. RM (Kim Namjoon) : He's the leader and Main Rapper, the one with Red Bomber Jacket that rapped in English. He is fluent in English and he's a genius who has an IQ of 148. Vocal Line: The Vocal line are basically the people who are making the melody for the tracks. Jin: He is the oldest among the group. He is the one in front during the bridge. The one with Red Velvet Jacket. He is good ar cooking and he eats a lot! Jimin: He's the one with the blonde hair. He started as a contemporary dancer and topped at one of the best dance school in Korea. He has the highest voice among the vocals and he's the most hardworking. V or Taehyung: He is the one with plain black bandana. His vocals is also incredible since he has that low and very manly voice that blends very well to all the vocals. He's lovely and dearest because of his 4D personality. Jungkook: He's the one with the black hair and black pull over. He's the main vocalist. He is the youngest among the group. He is also good at dancing. He's very athletic. Though he is the youngest, he is the strongest among the boys. There's a lot more things about them. The reason I don't consider them kpop is because they are well rounded artist. They can pull off any genre. BTW, please react to BTS's Not Today and Fire. You can also see their Live performances on MAMA 2016 :) thanks!

They are theoretically kpop, bc they are korean and do follow kpop schemes and are part of that industry, but imho they are also a little separated from that? They're kinda unique. Like they are the perfect bridge between kpop and western genres. Kind of the best of both worlds, as far as I'm concerned. Btw, turn captions on! And a lot of the lyrics were actually on English. As for the members, there's 7 members (from oldest to youngest). *Jin:* one of the 4 vocalists and visual (dude with black hair and leather jacket in the b/w part of the music video) *Suga:* one of the 3 rappers (dude with the bandana and light blue hair who takes over with the "mic mic bungee" line after the first rapper) *Jhope:* rapper, dancer, choreo leader, [sometimes vocalist] (the dude who jumps over the table and raps in the beginning of the MV, has red hair) *RM:* leader of the group, rapper (dude coming out of the ambulance, or the one saying "haters gonna hate") *Jimin:* vocalist, dancer (the guy with blond hair) *V:* vocalist (guy with a bandana and grey hair saying "it's hella trophies and it's hella thick) *Jungkook:* vocalist and dancer [he used to rap little in the beginning, but doesn't really do that any longer] (the guy with black hair singing "did you see my bag?") All of them dance really well, as you've seen, but the 3 I mentioned as dancers are so at a more professional level, let's say. They'd studied it from a young age. Jhope was in a crew in the underground scene before being part of BTS, famous for his popping and is very versatile. Jimin has studied hip hop, but then he pursued contemporary dance in an art school and became one of the best there in a short time. Jungkook is really good in many areas, and has pursued them through the idol scene, dance included (he began training with the boys when he was 13 more or less, if I'm not mistajen. They debuted when he was about 15 years old). This group really likes to experiment (successfully imho) with various sounds and concepts. You'll have your songs that are more pop-y, as you'd expect when you hear the word k-pop, but they also include hip hop, EDM, hints of Dubstep and Rock and so on. The rappers have done 4 songs, Cypher 1 - 4. 2 of the rappers have mixtapes out (Rap Monster aka RM, And Agust D aka Suga. For the former, check ot Joke and Do You, while for the latter, check out Aguat D, the title track, then The Last, that gas no music video, and Give It To Me), while we're waiting for the 3rd to release his. If you like this type of hype song, I'd suggest you check out BTS' Fire, Not Today, Baepsae and Dope to begin with If you like 90's hip hop, then the original version of Mic Drop definitely has more of a 90's feel to it, actually, so check out some of the lives there are of them performing the song, like the one at BTS Countdown.

The rest 4 members are vocalists, and they all write lyrics and compose music as well. The main producers though are the 3 rappers. Their music has meaningful lyrics bcz they are all coming from their own life experiences and their music video is top notch and their choreography is amazing. They are great at rapping, singing, and dancing all at the same time while looking so handsome😊 If you like hip hop, you should check out Cypher 1,2,3,4., and their solo tracks such as August D, Change(featuring Wale), Do you. My favorite is Cypher 4. It is lit asf

BTS do it all. They write, produce, compose, sing, rap and dance. They started hip hop but any genre they take on they own it. Listen to Fire and Not Today, also Save Me.

*Need BTS info , ARMY's got you man!!* BTS is a 7 member group that normally is asocciated with Hip-hop and RnB, but they do mix genres often. They are from a small entertainment company BigHit, which went bankruptcy to housing one of the most successful groups in Kpop. BTS literally started form nothing, and were hated and pushed down, being called a nugu (a group that will eventually disband). They were basically the underdogs of the Kpop industry. They are big now because they didn't give up on their dreams and work really really hard, plus their passion was so intense that their fandom ARMY reflected the same amount of passion in supporting them, which created a very unique relationship between BTS and ARMY (its like family if not more). They are really open to the fans, humble and they didn't care what other people says about them, all they care about is their ARMY (and in vice versa). The Fans are called A.R.M.Y, you can research on this on own if you what because it will take another paragraph to explain, but it is very deep and meaningful as well. BTS also puts a lot of their own personal stories and input into their songs, each members actually plays a part in song producing and writing, which is rare in Kpop groups to be allowed to do. They normally have very deep lyrics and often touch on topics that talk about the struggles of youth and experiencing depression and hardship in life. They base this on personal experiences because they feel that people should be more aware of this issue in society. I think one of the many reasons people grow to support them, they are all very relatable and humble. This is just to inform you when it come to BTS, I'm not sure for other groups, but it is best to have an open mind. I used think Kpop was weird too, but BTS really proved me wrong. They showed me that music can transcend a message no matter what language. I could go in more detail about them, but will let you discover them yourself and this post will be paragraphs long. If you have any further curiosity feel free to ask. Where to watch: (they don't give copyright, unless it is a japanese ver.) ibighit (official company channel) - Music videos, Trailers, Teasers and Short films (all includes eng subs) bangtantv (offical channel) - they have funny vlogs, behind the scenes footages, video diaries, dance practices and more (you can get to know the here) bangtansubs ( Offical engsub channel) - their videos that have the official eng subs Her Jams (not official, but very reliable fan channel) - updates and news on BTS Unnie ARMY (fan eng sub channel) - they have eng subs to some videos that don't have eng subs) Members: Rap Monster (Kim Namjoon) Leader, main rapper, producer- 1994 Jin (Kim Seokjin) Visual, vocal -1992 Suga (Min Yoongi) Lead rapper, producer -1993 JHope (Jung Hoseok) Lead rapper, main dancer, producer-1994 Jimin (Park Jimin) Main dancer, lead vocal-1995............(the Blonde, my favorite member) V (Kim Taehyung) Visuals, vocals-1995 Jungkook (Jeon Jungkook) Main vocal, lead dancer, Maknae(youngest), sub-rapper(in the yearly years)-1997 They all have their own unique charms and characteristics, all very talented when you get to know them. If you are interested in concepts and aesthetic you should react to BTS' trilogy and short films this is the order of the story line (watch in this order) because they all connect. -HYYH era : I Need U Prologue Run Young Forever -Wings era : Begin Lie Stigma First Love Reflection MAMA Awake Blood, Sweat and Tears Bloos, Sweat and Tears (Japanese ver.) -Love Yourself "HER" era : Highling reel 1,2,3,4 Suggested songs for... Slow songs: Save Me, Spring Day, Born Singer live, Butterfly, I Need U, Serendipity Hype songs: Dope, Fire, Not Today, Danger, Boy in Luv, Mic Drop, GoGo Non-rap songs: Lost, House of Cards, Illegal, Bulletproof part1 Rap songs: CYPHERs 1,2,3,4, Outro:HER Chilled songs: Coffee, Miss Right, Move live, 21st Century Girls, Whalien 52, Just One Day, Born Singer live, They are all performed amazingly live Hope this helped and didn't bore you and sorry for the long post I'm just really passionate about this. Welcome to BTS! There are a lot of new fans out there right now, so veteran fans like to spread word and background to others. BTS is a South Korean boy group that debut together in 2013. Leading up to their career, unlike American artists kpop "idols" as they're called begin as trainees. They audition for their labels which in turn train them for an undetermined amount time. Some train longer than others based on their skill level and desired outcome. Some idols go solo, others are put into groups to create an interesting balanced vocal experience. In BTS's case they were all auditioning for Big Hit Entertainment. A small company who had limited success prior to BTS, and wasn't true competition compared to other well known large companies. But BTS was formed of seven members, each having auditioned and come from different parts of Korea. The age range as of today ranges from 21-26. Though at the time the youngest member was either 13 or 14. Very young, but very talented. Over the years BTS has created many different styles of music, touching on their own personal struggles as well as those they see around them. Some even controversial such as speaking out on the troubling pressures of studying and school in Korea. Many people commit suicide at a very young age due to pressures. The members themselves come from diverse backgrounds. Dancers turned into singers, rappers learning to dance, dancers learning to rap. They each had a talent and had to learn another in order to be an idol. The members names are as followed. These are their stage names, feel free to look up given names, but for the simplest way to learn them with faces is to start with stage names. Rap Monster- new fans may find this confusing trend right now concerning his name. Though this was his original stage name, he has recently changed it to simply RM. However you may hear him referred to as Rapmon still. He is the leader of the group. A rapper who has some solo songs out as well. Suga- Also a rapper, Suga is said much like sugar but with attitude, and for good reason. He also has solo tracks available under the name AgustD. In his rap name it incorporates Suga and the initials for his home town. Where he used to struggle financially to support his music careers in early days. J-Hope. Dancer and rapper. He began as a dancer and was taught how to sing, but his true calling was rap. In mic drop, he was the first to start singing/rapping. He is always smiling and positive. These three make up the "Rap Line". The vocal line are as follows. Jin- The oldest member, he has arguably progressed the most. Originally Jin had little to offer besides being what's referred to as a "Visual". Just a pretty face to entice fans. But since he has learned to sing beautifully and dance. Many fans call him worldwide handsome and his confidence has no bounds. Jimin- Dancer, vocal. Jimin began as a dancer who was talked into going to an audition by his dance teacher, who believes he'd do well. Jimin is very shy off stage, and often struggles with weight and self-esteem issues. He still pushes himself to do better like the others. His vocal talent was trained, and now you'll hear his high notes clear and beautiful in many songs. V- Vocal. No, the V doesn't stand for vocal. The simple letter for a name was chosen by himself and he quotes it stands for Victory. Always having fun he loves to dance, and in many songs you will hear his vocal range from husky low notes to high angelic notes. Side note, he and Jimin are born the same year. Jungkook- The youngest member. Vocal, dancer. A term commonly used in kpop is "maknae" this means the youngest member of a group. In BTS's case that is JK. Often referred to as the Golden Maknae, as he can rap, sing, and dance all from the start though of course he has improved. His smooth and high notes stand out well in the chorus. But his rapping may only be seen in early BTS songs. Coming from a small label company with little budget and presence, to worldwide stars performing on an American awards show, winning Top Social Artist of the Year in the Billboard Music Awards, these boys are making leaps and bounds in their careers. They have won many awards in Asia for their talents and continue to do so. Their fanbase spans the globe, from the US, Korea, Japan, Brazil, Europe, etc. You'll find ARMY everywhere. That is our official title. We stand with BTS and fight for them, because unfortunately every step they take they also come across racism and hate. But they as a group handle it well, and are currently partnered with UNICEF. Their campaign is Love Yourself. Be positive, love yourself and love others. End hate, end suicides. #LoveYourself

Totally Tovar my pleasure! I grew to love BTS not only for their talents but as people! So I always want to help show people how amazing their individual achievements are. There's a lot to learn in the kpop world, so I know having good guidance is key! Something tells me you're going to really like the rap line of BTS if you like the hip hop vibe. Besides the 4 Cypher tracks, which you should be made aware there is not an official music video for any of the cyphers. So you can find possible lyric videos, which I suggest because then you can understand the rapping better AND in some it will tell you which of the three are rapping at a certain part. Additionally, the rappers have some videos I know showcase their skills. RM has a few videos out. A single track with a music video is called "Joker". Additionally, if you know who Wale is, he has a song with him titled "Change." RM is fluent in English and can rap in either language, which is well showcased in these two songs. Suga, or in this case AgustD, has multiple solo songs. The most noted is simply titled "AgustD". Though my next favorite after that is "Give it to Me". But, in one of BTS's albums each of the seven members had a solo track they wrote and produced to their own liking. Sugas is without a doubt one of my favorite songs ever. Again, no music video for it, but I highly suggest a lyric video to "First Love". Side note, he plays the piano. J-Hope is slowly diving into a career of showcasing and producing his rap. But a video I suggest to show his skills as a dancer, his first talent, and his rapping is called "Boy Meets Evil." It's a teaser/epilogue on their album. All these videos are accessible through KZbin! And remember, to see English lyrics on almost all BTS videos, simply check the CC closed captioning button. Very few will be without it if it's official content! Though for some videos I recommend watching it twice, one with lyrics, once without. Sometimes the words can be distracting to the overall experience of the song and video, though of course they're very important to the message. Thank you for taking the time to read this comment! In the words of RM "Love Yourself"!
