*Attention long comment incoming* Hihihi... I feel like I have to enlighten you. BTS aren't that popular just because of their beats. Yes, the beats help with casual listeners, but Army (A.R.M.Y. - fandom name) are drawn to them, because of: 1.) Their relatable/very beautiful lyrics *Examples:* *Boys meets Evil* "The light of my future is dimming - Because of my childish love, I lost my way on a path of dream - The venom of my ambition, I sharpened my knife every day - But because of my uncontrollable greed, my knife became dull - I know it all - This love is another name for the devil - Don’t hold her hand - I shouted but turned away from my conscience - I feel the sharp reality more every day - There’s red blood from being torn apart by reality - I never thought that the greed would become the trumpet heralding hell - Breathe - My breath is getting shorter - I close my eyes every night from twisted reality -The music box of tragedy echoes - But in order to be free from this crime - It’s impossible to forget and give up - Because those lips were too sweet..." *Tomorrow* "...It’s funny, you think anything is possible when you’re a kid - When you feel how hard it is to get through a day - Keep feeling like the “Control” beat, keep downloading it - Every single day is a repetition of ctrl+c, ctrl+v ... I wanted to become happy and strong but why am I getting weaker? - Where am I going? I’m going here and there but I always come back here - Yeah, I’ll probably flow somewhere, is there an end to this maze? ... Tomorrow, keep walking, we’re too young to stop - Tomorrow, open the door, we see too much to shut the door - When the dark night passes, a bright morning will come - When tomorrow comes, the bright light will shine so don’t worry - This isn’t a stop but just a pause in your life for a break - Turn up your thumbs and press play so everyone can see..." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 2.) Their love and diversity for/in music They experiment with all kinds of musical genres. For example if you listen to their solo tracks (Begin, Lie, Stigma, First Love, Reflection, Mama, Awake), on their Wings album, non of them are even remotely similar in style. They have soft ballads, up-tempo edm tracks and pure rap/hiphop tracks like Cypher Pt. 1-4, more pop oriented music and so on and so forth. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 3.) Their talent and dedication You already seen that yourself. They not only got in this group, because every single one of them has talent to begin with, but they also train somewhat between 10-16 hours a day. They do pretty much nothing else than training or making music, perform, (Or interact with their Army) most days. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 4.) The interesting storylines they and their staff provide The story of the HYYH/Wings era between 2015 - 2017 could at times be frustrating awesome. HYYH ("I Need U 19+", "Prologue", "Run", "Epilogue: Young Forever") plays a lot with images of reality, dream, psychology (depression, suicide, aggression etc.), Wings (Shortfilm 1-7, "Boy meets Evil", Blood, Sweat and Tears, Wings Tour Trailer, Blood, Sweat and Tears jap. version) keeps the theme, but puts it in context to Hermann Hesse "Demian" and last but not least "Highlight Reel" is a combination of both. I leave it up to you to find your own conclusion of the meaning behind all of it, but a tip: it helps if you have read the book and also are familiar with the works of Nietzsche and Jung (philosophy and psychology in general), also art history, religion/mythology and even botany in some cases helps. - Good luck! ^.^ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 5.) Their interaction with their fans and dedication to them Tons of interactions on Twitter, livestreams (random vlogs) on Vlive, special songs to their fans etc etc. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ 6.) Their true and funny personalities ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ And probably a hundred more reasons aside from catchy beats and pretty faces. But this was already too long and you most likely won't even read it all, because that's sadly what most KZbinr do. PS: To help you a bit with "Not Today"; I put it very short, because I wrote already enough for one reaction video ^.^ (it's actually a bit more complicated) It shows BTS origin story. Where they came from, how they formed, what they had to endure, how their situation was at certain points and it also shows the relationship BTS has with their Army and the other way around. It is very intricate, but you simply can't understand all the imagery in this mv without being an Army with a profound knowledge about the group. PPS: Some links for you, if you want to see different sides of BTS (all performances) kzbin.info/www/bejne/h326Y4V3eM1qpac (Cypher Pt4) kzbin.info/www/bejne/ZqfRfpiOipmEY8k (Mic Drop) kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z3ezkoSfbd1kjqs (HYYH concert - Butterfly) kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6TXq3mwq6tgqZI (HYYH concert - No more Dream - N.O.) kzbin.info/www/bejne/pJOQeWZ6mb2Bi6M (HYYH concert - Ma City) (Just if you want to watch it of course ) ^.^

yeahh... BTS got serious talent. They can sing, dance and produce own music plus charming/quirky personalities. Thats why they are currently taking over the world right now. Btw, watching their live performances would be a prove for their talents. They are really great performer. BTS has been known as "you can't go wrong with BTS". Anything they have done is always in between lit to too lit. Watch mic drop, go go, butterfly,etc for the live performance. Plus, 90% of their lyrics written by their genius leader, RM aka rapmonster(guy who rap with deep voice) with 148 IQ. Their mv mostly based on his idea for the lyrics that he has been inspired mostly by books, art, etc. As you still clueless about Not Today mv, people said that it is about them fighting with the haters and the ninja running with them is actually their fans called, Army. Blood, sweat n tears based on books called demian about temptation toward evil. Dope and fire are mostly about being young and free. BTS actually cover a lot of genres(pop, hip hop, ballad, rock, etc). Their title tracks may not show all but you can see it through their albums. Their albums are gold. All of their tracks are worth to listen especially their amazing lyrics.

dude. If you like their visuals...just let me tell you that they make short films (ususally as teasers for upcoming albums) too. They are incredibly beautiful. they also have a series of music videos that tell an ongoing and complex story. There is no dancing and only story, but it's made all the more complex because it's not told chronologically. They say it's more interesting not too and they're right! They also purposefully leave some open ends so that it can be interpreted by fans. If that ain't art I don't know what is. This group can literally do it all! Sing, rap, dance, write songs, act, write stories, write some really MEANINGFUL lyrics, they have these very exciting dance songs that are just fun but also really beautiful calm, slow music and songs that are just only hip hop and rap(where they started from). oh! and they're also hilarious!! and humble which is ridiculous because of how famous they are and like you even said they're also self depricating. okay my rant/lecture is done now. excellent reaction! I love that you pause it to give thoughts in full. maybe just leave a little longer clips of the actual MV too, though. your killing me cutting off my jams so quickly! ;)

@fruityfairytale17477 жыл бұрын
the thing with bts is that their popularity is growing every day. they're breaking records and, despite all that, are still humble (they come from a small agency) and never forget to thank their fans every day. what takes part in why bts is so popular is their lyrics. they produce and write all of their own stuff, and RM, their leader, mostly writes the lyrics. normally big agencies wouldn't let certain songs get released, but since they write their own things and their CEO is very fond of them, they get to release songs talking about the broken education system, social anxiety, depression, and recently, a song about a disaster in south korea (basically a lot of people died due to the lack of a good government.)

I feel like, with k-pop, for the rhyming schemes, they also have English as another language to fall back on if nothing would work in Korean. It just rolls so cleanly through the song, nothing needs to be streched, I love it. One of the members in BTS, whose stagename is RM (or Rap Monster), is the leader of the group and a lyricist for the songs, and is fully fluent in English. Another, whose stagename is Suga, who also helps with lyrics and produces some of the songs (which sound amazing), can also understand and speak pretty good English. Together, they make some EPIC songs.

Yes, you need to react to BTS Mic drop live. Don't look down on the rap line just yet. And I promise you, their lyrics won't disappoint you. There are English subs. BTS is a group, who writes music with passion, and spreads words of wisdom, experience, feelings of situations they've gone through, go through, what the world goes through, the reality of what you think you'd be happy enough with, yet when you reach your limit, you somehow crave for more. I watched some of your videos, and I can see what it is that you're looking for. There is so much to BTS's past, that led them to where they are now. I will tell you, they even have a song about Kids who should put their phones and technology down just for a sec and do what their parents ask of them, a song about just doing your laundry cause it smells and it's not going to take your whole day to get it done. Their songs feels like a counselor guiding you around situations. When they mention "Girl" or "Her" in their lyrics, it's usually about their Fans, or sometimes, they use as a "Substitute" for another meaning. They talk about the want of a friend, suicides, political issues, youth, growth, news/tragedy incidents etc. Their most recent album, is about loving yourself. "Love Myself, Love Yourself". If you do become more interested, I'd advise you to check them out. They won't disappoint you.

a little background on bts: they all were trainees under BigHitEntertainment, a really small agency that nobody really knew of. When they debuted in 2013, nobody really looked in their direction. After a year or so passed of them working hard (but still not getting noticed) the group was at their breaking point - their agency was bankrupt. They decided to change their hard-concept and do something different, something more appealing. Thus they released a series of mini albums that connected together, and they got their first win on their song I Need U. After that they didn't really blow up, they just started to get more and more recognition after they started to win on music shows. They released Fire, which was acclaimed for it's performances, and later released Blood sweat and Tears, which really was just another step in their career. The next year they released two singles - spring day (really wished you watched that one) and not today, and by then, their fandom was growing day by day. One of their breakthrough's was winning top social artist at the billboards this year. Since then, they have basically been dominating internationally (which in relation sucks being as they're not that popular in their native country) and you can see how much work (12 hours a day) they put into their music. The watered down version was that bts literally started from a bankrupt company, and almost disbanded due to the lack of funding, and despite all that, they somehow made it past barriers any kpop act could ever achieve. Truly legends.

Each album that they do is like a chapter in their life that also talks about depression, struggles of growing up, etc. They inspire lots of fans of different ages mostly 20s-40s so not a lot of teens fans. Even married/mothers are huge fans of bts bc they’re music resonates with a lot of people.

The guy that caught your attention in Dope, he's one of the rappers and his name's Suga. His flow is insane and he can rap really, REALLY fast. the whole rap line in BTS (made up of RM, Suga and J-Hope) is really food and diverse. Check out Cypher pt 2 (Suga goes ham in this one. He goes really fast, and can do that verse even faster), pt 3 and pt4. Add to that First Love, Suga's solo in one of BTS' albums. It is very poetic. Also, Agust D - Agust D. It's his title track, and his name as a solo artist outside of BTS. Although he has no intention of leaving, he chose this name to use when he dropped his mixtape. BTS - Boy Meets Evil is also amazing, and you have J-Hope rapping and dancing there. RM has his own mixtape, so you could check out Rap Minster - Do You.

Somehow you managed to watch all the upbeat and crazy ones lmao but they have a serious side to them too. So if you want to watch more narrative style videos with more serious songs I recommend I NEED U, RUN and all the short clips from the WINGS album which are also solo songs, there are seven of them. There is a story connecting them and it's really amazing. You will see that they are also good actors. On the other hand Spring Day is a narrative video too with a much softer song where their voices show their potential. There is a lot to them, really.

It was interesting hearing how, probably because you're higher energy and more confident now, the lower tone to your voice throughout this video. Yeah I really wish I could learn why the set directors (?) choose what they do. I suppose I shouldn't be too surprised that you genuinely don't have inappropriate behavior back then when it was 2018 not 2013; but I'm still used to seeing people be with the times and those times being offensive. Thank you for being so understanding. BTS is super important to me and I really benefit from watching your channel.

With BTS always turn CC English subtitles on, their lyrics are very deep 👍 And check their solo songs : vocals line solos : Awake, Lie, Stigma and Begin. Rap line solos: Joke, Agust D , Daydream. And to know the members better, check ( who is BTS? The seven members of BANGTAN) by Suga & spice channel.

the video for Blood Sweat & Tears is a finale from from WINGS short film serires they did for their solo songs. it also has a Japanese version which ties the story in directly to an earlier MV series they have called the HYYH series. Here is a playlist of the entire music video series/story in order: kzbin.info/aero/PLlA1m7rBgxleZuGdUDwEyjCAtgvBqVn0f also if you like their dancing you should check out their dance practices.

If you are into rap, check out the Cyphers, Cypher 4 is pretty awesome. Suga also has some solo stuff under the name Agust D, so does RM/Rap Monster, which is all rap

Army respects your honesty🙏Great video with amazing commentary and genuine reactions..I really appreciate the fact that you didn't go over the top, like most would do to get a positive feedback from fans..It's refreshing in a way and it also makes your comments about the MVs that much more valuable😆(Ps sorry for any mistakes, I'm Greek so I try my best to be understandable😂😅)

Yayy! You actually found the sub titles as well, good job! Also, BTS is a k-pop group (no shit Sherlock) they dance and sing at the same time (I've tried and within a minute I was exhausted) 3:13 - Jin, he's a vocalist 4:17 - Suga, rapper 4:51 - it's at a bad angle but that's Jimin, he is a vocalist, 6:02 - the guys putting on the binoculars is J- hope, he is a rapper and sometimes vocalist? The guy beside him is V, he is a vocalist. 6:59 - now he is a makea (the youngest of the group) he is a main vocalist, used to rap, now sings, substitute vocalist, basically he is a lot.. Also, near the start is the leader, Rap monster, he raps, A CUTIE PIE is actually a pretty good singer, he speaks fluently English.

all of BTS's videos revolve around a concept of loving yourself (in a way, i suppose)

YESSSS a part 2 to this would be so good, but if you wanna stick to artists you haven't heard before, some suggestions are: - Exo - Seventeen - Big Bang - Monsta X - Jay Park (Korean-American rapper who co-owns a hiphop label in Korea and recently got signed to Jay-Z's record label) - Zico (another solo artist, a Korean rapper who's really good, although he is also the leader of Block B)
