Michael Wharfe unless he does so as a shadow striker. I played Ze Gomes of Benfica at shadow striker attacking behind a complete forward on support and it was a dream. He broke the legend Eusebio's club record for league goals... from central attacking midfielder. It all depends on how he sets up the other players and tactics. There is more than one way to skin this cat.

The playmaker as CAM is the way to go. Take the fullbacks off automatic and change to fb(a) or wb(d) depending on whether you're attacking or countering

Actually playing a inside forwards atk and a winger sup is good if you tell the winger to aim for the back post spotting the inside forward cutting in

4-2-3-1 can be tricky because you have too many players in their third and everything gets overcrowded especially with the complete forward. The way you want to play might be better with a 4-3-3 to provide stability and also means you don’t have to use a CAM
