Thanks for your quality content sir you have no idea how much your videos are helping me I want to be a esl teacher overseas and I'm trying way harder for that I've built a strong uk accent and still working on it but I'm from BA English literature background will it cause any problem and yeah sir are you still working in China as a teacher?

Hi Dharamveer! Thank you for your kind feedback. I am glad these videos are helping you. I returned from China in 2019, and I am presently working at an IB school in Mumbai. There is a strong preference given to white teachers in China for sure. But if you teach well and can speak fluently and clearly, then that makes up for being a non native English speaker. You can most definitely apply in China, provided you have a minimum of 2 years teaching experience as an English teacher. Hope I've answered all your questions :)

Speaking mandarin isn't an eligibility criteria, but it helps you settle early on. I learned Mandarin to order food, connect with the locals. Its fun :)

Hi! So your level of English is good enough to pursue CELTA. If you are doing it from India then only British Council conducts CELTA. In-class CELTA is any day better than online. However, given the current situation with the pandemic, the in-class one wasn't happening. You can contact them though. All the best :)

Hi! What you need to learn is the british pronunciations of words. That should do it :)

As long as you pronounce correct you don't really have to put up an accent. What we learn in India is British English, but unfortunately most of our teachers at school do not focus on pronunciation. I suggest you watch BBC.com and read article as well. You will learn well.

Excuse me? My school knew I was from India because I disclosed it to them. My agency told them I was from Canada, and wanted me to go along with the idea. Obviously I didn't. They had my passport copy, so why would I lie?
