@@oidana We do know. I wrote a comment about it, but essentially, Hanzo and Genji both control the spirit Dragons (Theyre not actually the dragons themselves) Genji calls for the power of the Southern Dragon when he ults, and Hanzo for the power of the northern dragon twins when he ults.

The dragon metaphor is just a tie in with the representative dragons of the Shimada clans, they're not actually gods become human. Hanzo is actually a better swordsman than Genji which is why he initially beat genji, but put the sword aside vowing never to touch it after 'killing' Genji, he then took up the Bow which you see in this video. Genji was found near death by Overwatch and healed by Dr. Ziegler (Mercy) and given cybernetic enhancements to replace his damaged organs and limbs, something that initially broke Genji, he then sought out Zenyatta (a tibettan monk style omnic) and found peace again and acceptance of himself, after that point is where this cinematic picks up.

The Sparrow feather at the end is a reference to Genji's nickname, "Sparrow" and is meant to show you that Genji came to Shimada Castle every year to receive Hanzo's offering of a Sparrow feather.

The story about the dragons might be a metaphor or symbolic, they're not actual dragons. However their family, Shimada, does have some sort of affinity to dragons. As you can see Hanzo has a dragon tattooed on his arm and they are both able to summon these spectral dragons, which Hanzo says in this clip "only a Shimada can control". There is also a massive painting of the 2 dragons from the story shown in the end above the place hanzo was paying his respects. It could be that their family are descendants of the 2 dragons who became human a long time ago and that is why they have this power, and these 2 dragons are like an echo of the 2 original ones.

I don't think that's accurate.... since they showed the dragons of blizzard with the heroes of the storm trailer plus they use spectral dragons so wouldn't be to farfetched for them to be actual dragons lol.

No no they were never physically dragons it was just saying as concept of the story as there family had the dragons as the symbol. The story goes that hanzo and genji were part of a criminal empire called the shimada clan which is their family. Once the father died hanzo was chosen to lead the shimada clan but the elders wanted genji to follow top to guide and supoort hanzo. Genji did not want that life and hanzo asked his brother to join him but he refused so hanzo was ordered to kill genji which he did but this broke his heart so he left the shimada clan Genji was very much close to death but he was found and healed but they could not save most of his body so they turned him i to a cyborg with the help of mercy doctor ziegler. She personally saved genji life

Hanzo is Genji’s older brother and the presumptive heir of the powerful Shimada crime family/syndicate. (In Japan the Yakuza are treated with great respect- though they are criminal they’re not like the Mafia- imagine a combination between a respected noble family and the Mafia). Genji, however, spent all of his time chasing skirts and playing games, partying and drinking. The clan elders looked down on this, and he was repeatedly told to reign it in- even though Hanzo was the heir, Genji’s antics brought shame on the family. But Genji stubbornly continued with his “pointless frivolities” as Hanzo called them. Eventually once their father passed away the remaining family elders and bosses forced Hanzo to make a choice- if he wanted to be officially named the new leader, he would have to deal with Genji by any means necessary. He dueled Genji, and ended up “killing” him. In reality, unbeknownst to him, Genji survived and was saved by Doctor Ziegler (AKA Mercy- she wears white armor and has angelic golden wings if you see her in any other shorts) and went on to essentially be a superhero. Meanwhile, Hanzo, believing that he had killed his brother, turned away from the family. Even though he had done what was asked of him, and could become the leader of the family and one of the most powerful and influential people in Japan, his battle with his brother had left his spirit scarred. He walked away from the family, and the bosses quickly seized control and enacted a Kill on Sight order for Hanzo. Every year, on the date of their duel, Hanzo breaks into the familial castle (Hanamura) and prays in the room in which the fateful duel took place, to honor his brother. The blood on that painting and the slice are from the blow that killed Genji. Fun fact- the reason Hanzo only uses a bow is that on the day he killed Genji with his blade, he swore to never use a sword again, due to his shame at what he did. In this short, Genji approaches him, having been recalled to Overwatch (you should REALLY watch the short “Recall” before you watch any more!) and wanting to recruit his brother- and also to give Hanzo a chance to atone and forgive himself.

Also, the feather Hanzo brings as an offering is a Sparrow feather in honor of Genji's nickname, "Sparrow." The feather Genji leaves behind at the end is meant to tell you that he also returned every year and received Hanzo's offering.

The dragon story was just a metaphor for what happened between Genji and Hanzo. They weren't literally the dragons in the story. I'm not by any means an expert in the story of Overwatch and its characters, but I know that Hanzo and Genji were members of a Yakuza clan, and Genji did something that pissed off the clan so Hanzo was expected to kill him. Hanzo struck a mortal blow and left him for dead. A member of Overwatch (I don't know who) found Genji and put him back together as a cyborg. Hanzo was filled with grief and regret over what he did and later had a falling out with the clan.

The Dragon story isnt really a metaphor. Hanzo Shimada (The bowman from the short) Is called "The Dragon of the North Wind" and Genji Shimada (The cybernetically enhanced human) Is "The Dragon of the South Wind) Who both can call upon the spirit of the aforementioned dragons. (south and north) After Hanzo fatally wounded Genji and left him to die, he lived his life forward regretting what he did, without course, without purpose. When he met the "stranger" he told him to "walk the earth on two feet, see what problems everyone faces, learn humility, and trough that, you will find peace with what you did and purpose for your life". The altar where the sword is and the torn banner with the blood and cut off part, is the exact place in the Shimada Clans Dojo, where Hanzo struck Genji down by hitting him across his shoulder, immobilizing him and paralyzing him. As he roamed the world regretting what he had done, learning how the world wasnt what his father had told him (They lived in highly secure Dojo as criminal grandmasters sons, so they were disconnected from the "poor mans problems") He refused to use a Sword anymore (The blue lined sword on the altar he used to kill genji with) from thinking he had dishonored his swordsmanship slaying a kinsman to gain power. He started visiting yearly in the Shimanda Clans Dojo to pay respects to his brother, burning incense and placing a Sparrow's feather on the ground. Sparrow was the nickname Genji was given by his father, since he was a very ignorant and "free bird" of the family, ignoring duties and wanting to live life, and avoid criminal opporturnities.

I cant Recommend this enough, React to the RWBY Trailers by Rooster Teeth. ( There are 4, The Red, White, Black and Yellow) in that order. Its an animated Show, in english, created by the Legendary Monty Oum. He was a master of Animation. The first trailer was a test of sorts for styles, but the other 3 are normal. It began in 2013 and Continues to this day. The Story will hook you almost immediately from the First episode, which i would hope you react to that as well. RWBY is a brilliant and almost perfect show. You wont regret it, Side note, It will draw TONS of new subscribers and viewers in. the RWBY fandom is massive, and Copy right strikes and virtually not a thing with RWBY.
