The show was created by Joe Brumm. The show was created off of his experiences as a father. And some of the games and things he did with his kids. And the actual kid characters are actually being voiced by actual kids. But they're not credited to protect The child voice actors and just let them be kids.

Bandit and Chili have a jobs, Bandit is an archaeologist and chili is a security guard at an airport. The he show takes place in Brisbane, Australia. But you would have to get used to the Australian slang that they use often in the show. It’s such a great show and it’s very relatable for someone in the early 20s such as myself.

A shame this isn’t the Australian version because while Socks trying to say “green peppers” is cute, green capsicum becomes something like “gleen capshmimum” and is just one of the cutest things ever.

I thought it was weird that they were saying peppers instead of capsicums! I know that the Bluey writers are really passionate about being unapologetically Australian, so that stood out to me that they said "peppers," and I was wondering if it was a Queensland thing (me being from New South Wales). It didn't occur to me that Mikey would be watching the American version where they've changed some things (obvious in hindsight though). Hopefully 'Dad Baby' is available in the US now, that's one of my favourite episodes!

This is awesome! I love seeing people discover this show! As a mum living in Brisbane's suburbs, I have seen every episode at least once, my 2 girls have played pretend AS Bluey and Bingo and it's enouraged me to work harder on being more engaged with them and their games. The episodes are a great palate cleanser/reset/please I need something nice and cozy to watch and if you dont have 7 minutes to spare, there are the 1 minute minisodes as well! I'm looking forward to seeing your reactions to more Bluey and it's unapologetically Australian charm!

I'm so glad you're watching this, it made for a really fun video. I'm an adult with no kids, but I got stuck in a hotel with terrible cable, and this show was its one saving grace, so I got hooked on it. It's one of those rare shows that both kids and their parents (and other adults) can enjoy; pretty sure it's because it speaks to both audiences equally with its clever, creative writing. Along with its music, design, and animation, it really hits all the notes. I hope you keep watching!

I love bluey, not just for what it gives kids, but as somebody who had a crappy childhood, for lack of a better word, it really helps me re-parent myself and calm down and handle things in a much more mature manner. Also ye, sorry for all these comments, i just got a lot to say. Glad ur paying attention to the OST cuz its my favorite thing about it and Joff Bush (the main composer) as so damn good at composing whimsical tracks with lots of variety in style and you will notice a lot of variety especially in the first season as they experimented with the music a ton with this first season. Now its time for random fin facts about episodes (which I will try to leave in each video if you make more). Shadowlands has a deleted joke when they say "no one can walk on water" Snickers would say "Jesus can" in which Bluey would say "who's Jesus?". But BBC is very stick on rules for what can and cannot be in shows for this age demographic. And the episode The Weekend is the actual pilot episode of the show, which is why it looks a little different with the character movements.

I’m sure many others have probably already said this, but it’s not until toward the end of Season 1 that Bluey starts to become the show that adults are obsessed with. There are a couple of episodes in the back half of S1 that have an emotional gut punch and a lot of subtle depth. The first time you see one, if you still believe it’s just a kid’s show, it just floors you. Seasons 2 and 3 are basically emotional minefields. You never know when an episode is going to just rip your heart out. BUT!! Important thing here; it all feels so HEALING. Like, when Bluey makes you cry, you feel like you needed that cry and you move on from it with a smile. There are some truly beautiful episodes, so I hope you stick with it even though S1 may not have you fully convinced right away.

Here is my take on Bluey - as a mom, the show has SO many inside jokes that speak to parents. But it is still fun and connects with non-parents. It is a great guide to how to play with your kids because, dang, Mom and Dad COMMIT to the bit in this show! Also, I think the way it presents things is just very pure in a way you just don't see in a lot of shows these days. I am glad to see you reacting to it, thank you for sharing,

So glad you are giving Bluey a watch! I'm also a huge fan of the music and love that you notice the small details within the different genres used for each episode. I 100% recommend checking out the soundtracks, they just released vol. 3 but vol. 1 is my favorite! Vol. 1 has songs from a bunch of the episodes you just watched (Keepy Uppy, The Weekend, Fruit Bat) Joff Bush, the show's composer, puts so much care and detail into each piece. Loved your reaction!

Bluey isn't a show for kids that adults can enjoy, it's a show for adults that kids can enjoy. If you ever think an episode is hinting at something, it absolutely is. There is so much subtext that will go right over the heads of children. Bonus, there's a bit of a Where's Waldo thing going on. Most episodes have a hidden tennis ball, and a long dog (a stylized dachshund with it's eyes closed) hidden somewhere in the episode.

Shameless adult Bluey fan here. Like Bandit and Chili, I have two daughters. I see Bluey not as a kids' cartoon but as a sitcom about family life, especially as the series continues. (Bandit does work, but irregularly. He's an archaeologist, a famous one, and is sometimes seen working from home and going to digs. The rest of the time he lives off, presumably, speaking tour income.)

Bandit is an Archeologist. Chili works for Airport Security. Bandit has two brothers. Chili has one sister. The most important thing you need to know is that Bluey is a Rainbow Baby. There are subtle hints in a few episodes that confirm Chili suffered a miscarriage.

I’m so excited to see this!!! if you do continue watching, I suggest not watching on Disney+ going forward. you’d be surprised how much they censored from the Australian run for American audiences. For example, you heard them say “Peppers” when originally they said “Capsicum”. There’s a few episodes that were completely excluded for nonsense reasons; A couple of ‘em got added later because of the backlash, but s2’s Dad Baby remains unavailable 😅

29:40 I can forgive a lot about a show, movie, or game if the music is really good. There's no serious complaints about this show and the music is /fantastic/. Joff Bush, who does the music for the show, will sometimes reuse Leitmotifs (like the theme, or some classical music) but generally makes each episode's musical identity unique. He also voices a character in the show -- an Irish Terrier musician with glasses named Busker. As it happens, Bandit and Bluey's teacher (Calypso) are also voiced by musical artists, singer/songwriter/instrumentalists Dave McCormack and Megan Washington. 33:49 That's Bandit's younger brother, Stripe, voiced by the creator's brother. Muffin and Socks (the little one who barks and howls) are Stripe's daughters. 39:26 Others have said this, I'm sure: Bandit's an archaeologist and Chilli works in airport security. 39:36 The creator draws on the experiences he's had with his kids and as a kid (which makes some sense when we get introduced to the parents and the siblings not yet introduced).

Yeah in the original BBQ EP airing in Australia, we call peppers, Capsicum. I can tell because i've watched every EP of Bluey uncensored including Exercise's first min of that EP. Disney in the US, idk some of the censorship in Bluey made no sense & sometimes it does on occasion.

Bingo also asks how a baby gets in a mommy. There’s also a whole episode called Dad Baby that can’t be on Disney Plus because Bandit pretends to be pregnant. You know how we are in the US.
