I'm absolutely shocked you were left to clean up the dust after the ceiling collapsed. The least they could do was pay for a professional clean to get rid of the mystery dirt.

I’m so very sorry ❤ I do hope your landlord pays you for your damage, I find it extremely low and heartless that he’d raise your rent after what happened. I truly wish you nothing but the best and here’s to things getting better and getting that spark back that you so deserve.

@@jacyhosts OK I need to add that to my rant as well no freaking way that he made you pay more rent. He should've made your rent rent for a month free. I'mma be honest right now like he needed to have made that free I would've moved out and not even told him there's a hole in the ceiling straight up I would've gotten a hotel, put of all my stuff in storage unit and I would've found an apartment after paying him the lease break like he could deal with it alone. That was never your responsibility and the fact that you said you were gonna stay at your brothers house why did ur landlord not put you up in a hotel? That is so awful. And bc you had to call off work and deal with family trauma??? he needs to have paid you for all of this like thousands of dollars to be honest because it is incredibly unfair that you were to fix your car while dealing with this and then go through things with your family like he should've paid you for pretty much every damage that happened that is incredibly awful and not fair

I also went through a period of constant bad luck..one night went to the ER with kidney stone pain and went back home to discover my house was robbed and then I got the news I got laid off. I just try to find the good of every bad like luckily I wasn’t home when the robbers came inside my house. I think maybe luckily you weren’t on the bed when the ceiling collapsed on you.. however it is very distasteful to increase your rent right after what you went through
@Atlasintokyo4 ай бұрын

I feel for you and I just want to give you a BIG hug because you could probably use it. I am dealing with a fiberglass issue with my shithole mattress that I bought on Amazon, that had apparently been leaking thin fiberglass through my room and putting tiny shards in everything, that are only visible if you shine a flashlight on it. I've been cleaning for 2 weeks straight (after catching covid for the first time). Never EVER take your mattress cover off to clean it. I feel you though, sometimes it feels like the sky is falling (in your case it actually was). As things start to settle however, it REALLY makes you appreciate the lack of drama and the slow comfortable points in life. Hang in there!

Aww Jacy, these past few months for me have been shit too. My dad had a heart attack, then him and my step mom let us know they are getting a divorce which came out of no where for us. My car was totaled due to a drunk driver, our washer stopped working and my dog chewed my glasses and it was $400 for new ones. On top of getting really sick for a few weeks where I had a fever and coughed up blood. I have been under so much stress and cried so much lately and literally also thought I was cursed and or the universe is mad at me. It has been absolutely horrible but I know it could be worse and so hopefully this year is better to us both ❤ stay strong and remember your not alone.

For your electric blanket, try strip cleaning it! It involves using a few different cleaning powders, I think tide, borax, and arm and hammer powder? I can’t remember exactly. But you put the blanket in hot water in a tub, mix in the powders. Stir it every hour for like 4-5 hours. Then wash it like normal with no extra detergent. It gets out a ton of dirt and stuff that regular washing can’t. And just wanted to say I’m so sorry it’s been an extremely tough month. I enjoy your content and I hope starting it up again will bring you joy❤ much love!!!
@laurenpelton8057 ай бұрын
I found instructions for it! Instructions Fill your bathtub, sink or a large bucket with hot water. The laundry stripping recipe involves adding borax, washing soda (sodium carbonate - not baking soda) and laundry detergent in a 1:1:2 ratio. For a bathtub, add 1/4 cup borax, 1/4 cup washing soda and 1/2 cup laundry detergent. Stir until all three dissolve completely. Submerge your "clean" towels or sheets in the mixture and soak until the water has cooled, which usually takes at least four hours. Stir them occasionally to help dissolve and release the buildup from the fabrics into the water. Drain the murky water, wring your items and run them through a full wash cycle without detergent or softener. If not a full wash cycle, put them through at least a rinse and spin cycle in your washing machine. Tumble dry the items without dryer sheets.

Omg Lauren so I didn’t give up on the blanket after all and did something like this to get all the dirt out. Buuuuuuut tragically I must’ve ruined the electricity of it because it no longer heats 😭😭 so now it’s just a regular ole blanket, sad life!

Oh hell no. The landlord should have paid for a restoration company to come in and clean all your things. You did hours of work to fix something THEY'RE responsible for!! And I do hope there's no mold involved. I would have called code enforcement for an inspection, then done a separate mold inspection on my own. Yes, a little pricey. But I actually became permanently disabled from mold, and long story, but environmental medicine docs can show how mold leads to bipolar via chemical sensitivities to environmental chemicals or your own neurotransmitters and hormones. True story. Also quite treatable. But hopefully no mold there. But what the heck WAS that in the ceiling??

I would call your renters insurance, you may be entitled to more than you think. If you live in a city You also should talk with your local renters rights group or community. Your landlord should have given you the cost back from your rent for any days it wasn’t fixed. You have a legal right to a habitable living space. You should make a detailed inventory of everything that needed replacing and send it in writing to your landlord. Call your renters insurance. Depending on what state you are in like California you might be eligible for your landlord to cover moving costs. The popcorn ceiling may have aspestos in it! and that would go all over if the ceiling collapsed you have been breathing all of that. I know money is tight but if you’re going to keep living there you should hire your own inspector. You might feel better health wise if you move. You are breathing whatever that is in your ceiling.

He should've given her a hotel. He should've paid for all of the things that she lost. It doesn't matter if she had renters insurance or not. That's what the landlord is supposed to do. He should've literally given her a different unit to live in or if you can't do that, you should replace the whole fucking ceiling, because do you know how terrifying it is to sit there, and not know if it's gonna collapse again likenot a single part of this was fair to her or she should be given so much financial compensation

The people of Gaza have family members dying left right and cente, there houses being blowed up, they are under siege and starving. Realising that their are millions suffering at this moment and pondering about the countless blessings of god should automatically make us greatful for what we have. I hope that helps.

It just makes me so fucking angry that they didn't offer you a new unit to live in during this or like I don't know the situation of where you live just a hotel anything to go stay in because the air in your apartment now has dust particles and mold and debris everywhere regardless of how much they clean that shit months from now not only that but they didn't pay for majority of the stuff you said they should've and they also should've literally made it so that you wouldn't have had to touch any of this But you did and I think that is so awful of them, and the fact that he paid for it begrudgingly makes me fairly angry because why the hell would you have to pay for a single part of that that's not your building you did not construct that and it's not under your name to own it I assume so why the fuck would you have to pay for this shit sorry for getting so angry, but like this type of stuff is very hard to hear as somebody who lives by herself Like definitely got taken advantage of in the situation you shouldn't have had to touch a single part of that that's a health hazard.
