Back in 1969, my road dog and I, hiked and hitchhiked from Milano all the way to Duisburg, Germany. In Lindau we threw pieces of bread in the air and watched the gulls grab it in mid air. The sparrows were the biggest and fattest I have ever seen. But the cleanliness of all those beautiful towns we passed through impressed me the most! We did not take any trains to save money but now I wish we did. I love trains and the amazing railroad network Switzerland has.

Superbe vidéo ! Etant un grand fan de chemin de fer, je suis aux anges. Le paysage est toujours grandiose verdoyant propre et les bords du lac sont très reposants. Le matériel Suisse est également à la hauteur. J'ai toujours rêvé de conduire un train et justement train simulator propose cette ligne et également ce matériel je m'amuse comme un petit fou. Cette fois je découvre ces décors magnifiques dans la réalité. Merci encore ami de nous régaler de ces très jolis films ! Un fan français.

Ich persönlich fände das sehr geil, wenn das als Linie S2, als Schnellzug für die Unterseelinie eingeführt wird nur mit dem Halt Kreuzlingen, Steckborn, Stein am Rhein, Diessenhofen und in Schaffhausen dann mit der S-Bahn nach Jestetten verknüpft wird. Der Flirt ist mein Lieblingszug und ich komme aus der Region von Schaffhausen. Ich fände es schon toll, den Flirt dann auch in Schaffhausen sehen und mitfahren zu dürfen.

Another very interesting trip that covers another couple of the lines that I've seen going off in other videos and thought "I wonder what it's like along there?". (And yes, I'm late again, there's all sorts I'm still catching up on.) I find the signalling at passing stations interesting, like 7:25; there's one section starting signal applying to both tracks, with marker posts indicating where to stop on each track. I suppose they figure that there's never likely to be two trains both heading in the same direction.

Bei ca. 6:49 sind zwei Tafeln Im1 und Im2 ersichtlich. Je nachdem, welchen Fahrbegriff (1 oder 2, d. h. Grün oder Grün-Orange) das Signal anzeigt, gilt die Zustimmung für das entsprechende Gleis.

Echt schön die Gegend. Hab ich das übersehen oder gibt es irgendwo noch Kreuzlingen-Romanshorn? Ich kenne die „andere“ Seeseite viel zu wenig. Trotz dass es von mir zuhause in Ravensburg so nah ist. Aber gerade heute erst mit dem Fahrrad Romanshorn-Steckborn abgefahren. Aber auf dem Seerücken. Geht zwar viel bergauf und bergab aber deutlich weniger Touristen unterwegs. Velo-Route 82

Wow, amazing ride! You will not believe this, but for the past few months I have been driving this route on Train Simulator 2020 (it is from Schaffhausen to Kreuzlingen though, not all the way to Konstanz). And 2 days back only I started going through all your videos to see if you had uploaded this route in the past but I couldn't find one. And when I checked today, it is your latest upload. It was really like a surprise gift for me! Anyway, I really enjoyed it. After Berlingen, the view of the lake is beautiful. Is there any particular reason why some of the stations have a common departure signal for both the tracks, while some have separate signals? Also another general query I had, when the speed limit increases (and you pass the higher speed limit board) or when you enter the mainline from a loop, how do you know when the back of your train has passed the board, so that you can accelerate?

Those group-signals used to be the standard on smaller stations a while ago. They are slowly disappearing, because todays standard with a signal per each track is much safer and easier to handle. Regarding train lengths, we can look at the kilometer-signage, count catenary masts, measure seconds or, with most newer trains, double-click the pedal and the train gives an audible response when the train is through.

Yes, some unconventional items. One signal for two tracks at some stations, logic dictates there can only be one train, but on either track. Need room for the oncoming train. The passenger crossings, common on the narrow gauge but rare on SBB, not very good for crippled, the elderly or wheelchair users with only one flat crossing at the platform end? Lots of sidings, assume seasonal agricultural use (sugar beet)?

There can be two trains and they can depart in the same direction, just not both at once. It depends on the signal aspect which train is allowed to depart. Level passenger crossings are quite rare nowadays, but still in use on branch lines.
