My heart was beating out of my chest and then the room turned white and I felt at peace. My heart slowed down and I survived. Jesus Christ is real people. He saved my life.

So many “churches” have abandoned the classic hymns for “praise music”. They don’t realize how much sound theology was used in writing these hymns. If you belong to Jesus, in addition to memorizing God’ Word, make every effort to memorize these hymns as well.

I miss signing these hymns in church. Modern worship songs can also be powerful, but oh how I wish our church incorporated these older hymns as well. This brings me back to the small town Baptist church I attended with my grandmother in the summers; the one where I was baptized. Sweet, precious memories.

When I was a child, my six siblings and I went to choir rehearsal with my parents every Thursday evening. We were blessed to be inundated with the songs represented here. I didn't appreciate it at the time, but today I realize how blessed I was to have these beautiful songs of praise etched in my Spirit. It is written: " Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it." Proverbs 22:6 Like the prodigal son, I grew up and went my own way. I rebelled against GOD. I found myself in some dark and dangerous places on the path I'd chosen, because I wanted to do what I wanted to do. But by the Grace of GOD, he did not leave me there. I cried out to JESUS. And my Heavenly Father forgave me. He bought me back into the fold. Hallelujah! Amen.

I’m a nondenom Christian that’s been looking for good hymn worship music to listen to lately because contemporary “worship” is all watered down in my opinion. There are good contemporary Christian songs, but they don’t measure up to the beauty of Old Hymns. I pray all of those reading my comment will remember that if you’re ever doubting your faith in Jesus Christ, you are not alone.
