Non Stop Vinyl Digging in Chicago (7 Record Stores 4 days)

What an incredible 4 days of unbelievable digging, food, culture & friends.
Chicago is known for its jaw-dropping architecture, vibrant music scene, amazing food as well as iconic neighborhoods.
I hope this video gives you and idea of the excitement and energy I had while walking into the record stores and digging for those gems.
I highly recommend the Windy City to anyone looking for that pulsating energy from it's people and the sounds.
Big thank you to all my Chicago friends that made us feel welcomed and suggested places to see.

Marie at Out of the Past Records is wonderful! I just by chance asked if she had any blue GRT cassettes from the 70s and lo and behold, she pulled out a box with some still-sealed Cymande and Blackbyrds tapes.

I am glad i found your video of Chicago because i am planning on taking a train there seeing the architecture, the food places, hotels and the music stores which is a big hobby of mine. Any good advice on the best Chicago pizza and Chicago dog would be appreciated. I have never rode on a train before so i look foward to that. I also might make a Cubs game as i always liked the stadium with the Ivy on the fence. It is late now and i have come back and finish watching this video later.

Where do I begin..lol I really enjoyed Chicago we stayed near the lake area I think it was called Lincoln Park.. so many great restaurants/cafes around that area. The pizzeria we tried was Lou Malnatis pretty tasty deep dish. We also went to the Fulton Market District had great Mediterranean food @ Aba. That whole area was booming with restaurants. There were a few more record stores I didn’t make but any of the ones I mentioned should give you nice selection .. gramaphone is geared more towards the dj if you’re looking for that.. tech/deep/disco/rap etc. Wishing you a fantastic & safe trip.

Thank you for this awesome tour of Chicago record stores! Sitting over here in Denmark seriously jonesing for that brick and morter record store experience. Even that exposed brick cafe at the start looked like such a cool way to start the day. I actually filmed my own Record Store Day experience here in Denmark this year, but next time I guess I should include at least a coffee place 😊 Such cool looking stores as well. Something like that blue chair at the Conservatory, I’ve decided is what I need for my listening corner here in Denmark, it’ll look really good. Surprised to see you and a few others still wearing masks there. Maybe because it's a big city? ...Wow, the music is way too loud in The Conservatory - had to turn the volume down! Gramaphone Records music level was much more reasonable and they appeared to have a much larger and more interesting LP selection. "Out Of The Past" inventory seemed very interesting also!

Hello Daniel, Thanks for viewing the video. I wear masks for protection from the dust that comes from flipping thru the bins. Some stores have less dust than others pending the shape of their vinyl. I personally do not like inhaling that stuff, but everyone has their preference.
