I too have CP. My parents were told I’d never walk or talk. They were wrong. I do both. Sometimes I talk to much lol. The walking part was harder because I was born with a dislocated hip. Just keep letting him grow and be him. Also watch for muscle spasms. They are very painful.

I’ve listened and re listened to His talking and it truly sounds like Mr a Beckham was saying “Hi Sister” just like you always say to him when Miss Blakely gets up from her nap, or attends him in his high chair. I’m sorry little man that your legs are hurting, it won’t be long before you get your Botox. You really are a super champion. So proud of you!,

Maybe I'm wrong but..lol Girl I just noticed his little converses aren't laced all the way up, that's probably why they always come off, lace the laces through the other two holes and double knot tie them and they will probably stay on better 😘 he is such a little cutie..that little sideways grin he does gets me every time 🥰...are the laces too short to reach? I see in his stander they look like they are super short🤔 get him some longer laces if that's the case, he looks so cute in those little converses 🥰

You can put a magnet child lock on your night stands. I have them on all out drawers and cupboards around our bathrooms, bedroom and kitchen. They are easy to install..then you just have a magnet key in each room to open up those drawers and cupboards. Nice thing is you can push a button on them and disarm them when your child is not around or losses interest and then use them if you have company come over with kids.

Well people who have cerebral palsy can actually pick up what you say around them when you say it very frequently. That is because they memorize those words. If you say those words like dozens of times they will start to pick it up and repeat it. I know this because I have a friend who has cerebral palsy. He picks up every word that you say very frequently around him. Words such as silly goose(he smiles everytime that word is said and he also laughs at it too) and duke(another favorite of his) etc so they do pick up a lot of stuff you say around them because they learn the sounds and how to say it when you do. People who have cerebral palsy are just so adorable and kind. I just can’t get over Beckham. He is so cute and absolutely adorable. He is kind. He’s just a nice kid in general like all other kids. Keep up with those milestones Beckham you got this bud I know you can I can feel it in my bones you can. You guys are great parents and have a great day.

I do believe that lil Beckham needs to be a model . That kid is not only the most handsome but his personality is coming thru each day - all due to your parenting and love .. you could put a plain ole white tee shirt on lil Beckham and he will still shine. Good work on devoting your life to making Beckham the best he could be - that lil boy is going to suprise you in a few years . The love your kids receive is evident - and by the way whoever these people are questioning about toys- good grief!!! Ignore this stupidity . You interact with your kids more than any ole toy would !! As we say in the south - Bless these idiot remarks and bless their hearts ! 😂. Beckham does look super adorbs in red. Keep up your good work - your a great family , great mom and dad .. Go Beckham go !!!

I remember being in elementary school with a girl named Grace who had a brother with CP who communicated with sign language only and she was FIESTY when it came to her brother. She taught everyone in our class how to say "HI" to her brother, and how to sign the alphabet so that we could tell him our names, and would tell the lunch ladies how to sign what food options there were for the day for her brother

Very impressive talking skills Beckham! It definitely sounds like he said "hi dada!" I noticed him making and possibly practicing a lot of different letter sounds. While he was in his walker he was making the a sound like aaa and I definitely heard the w sound too. I was almost like, did he just say ow? But it was more like aaaaaw. He didn't seem to be fussy at all though so I doubt he was actually trying to say ow.

@beyedoc Жыл бұрын
He is probably ready for more active vision therapy, or he may simply be getting fatigued. The surgery does not correct the root problem which is the signal from brain to muscle. It is common to need, and even vital to get, vision therapy after eye muscle surgery to create and reinforce the correct signal and help prevent recurrence of the eye turn. There are so many factors and obviously we are just seeing part of his day, but I highly recommend watching that closely with a specialized eye care provider that offers vision therapy. If his ophthalmologist that did the eye surgery doesn't have a colleague she works with, I'm more than happy to help find a colleague in her area if this is something that needs to be pursued further. 💕 In children with an eye turn who don't have vision therapy and only have eye muscle surgery, on average they end up with 3 surgeries on their eye alignment and a host of secondary issues that can come from that (like cyclotorsion and other vision issues that can't be helped or fixed). His first surgery seemed to have a wonderful outcome and he is doing phenomenally! I'm just commenting because Rachel pointed out that she had questions about things she is noticing with his eyes. Edit to add: He has time, it is not an emergency, but this is something I would recommend based on his vision history and the portion of his brain that was damaged.
