Dude, thank you so much for this video. I was kind of annoyed / bummed they removed the top compression strap because I think it kind of ruins the aesthetics but most of all that it took away from the functionality but you just resold me on this pack by showing you can cross the 2 side compressions over to achieve the same functionality. No one else online makes this point, including MR. So again thank you!

I turned this into my summer weekend bag. Tarp, bugnet, sleep pad, 2 sleep bag liner, 3L bladder and more necessities. Haven't totally matched everything together but I'm liking the way it's working out.

Looking for advice here. I have an old (20years) Osprey Stratos 18 that I love. I need a bigger day pack, get home bag, overnight bag, etc. So, I’ve been looking at the Blitz 35 or the Scree 32/33. Thoughts? I’d go with Osprey again but looking at them in store they seem to only worry about weight savings in materials vs being built to last 20 years.

I was going back and forth between a few packs for my 72-hour bag setup until I randomly found this on sale for like 50 bucks off, which made it a no-brainer purchase. for me what makes it ideal for emergencies is two-fold. one, I have heard it is very comfortable and adjustable so my back won’t be in agony after a few miles. two, you can just flay open the whole bag super quickly, definitely ideal for accessing important stuff in a hurry. just wish it had straps on the bottom for easily attaching a tent or a pad or something for lightweight overnighters. there are some mods/workarounds I’ve seen but it would be cool if they were just included. I get that it’s a “day pack” but it would be a cheap way to make it much more versatile. thanks for the video!

Thanks for the thorough review. I've had this pack for several months and have had a problem where the bottom, unpadded portion of the shoulder straps dig into my sides. Have you encountered this, and if so, have you found a way to mitigate? Thank you from a new sub. Cheers.

Aaron, we love your channel and use your links as much as we can afford. Thank you for what your doing. With that said, can we get you to review the eberlestock gunslinger 2 pack and compare its comfort ability against the Scree. Your right the Scree is very comfortable but its not a hunting pack and we would love to find a hunting pack as comfortable as the scree. I believe the comfort ability in a pack depends on the angles of the shoulder straps and how close it can get to your body. A review of the gunslinger 2 would be greatly appreciated.

I have found specifications for height of 66cm (26 inches). Is that right ? I think that would make it a long bag for a 32 l and more importantly it is out of specs for cabin luggage on many air travel companies. That could be the big dealbreaker for me on that bag. Thanks for the detailed review !

Hi Aaron! I just bought this pack for $199 from Amazon. It's an awesome backpack and probably the most comfortable one I own (last inventory was 22). I normally don't like to use H2O bags inside my pack as I've experienced leakage even with the well made Camelbacks. However, on a recent trip into the mountains I devised a short 550 loop with a cord lock, securing the bottom of the loop onto the bladder then pushing the cord lock through the hole for the tubing leading to the shoulder strap. Secure the cord lock and if necessary tie the two loose ends of the 550 to ensure the cord lock remains in place. As the reservoir emptied it remained secured. My load out was just under 25 pounds including an extra Pathfinder canister of water and a full 2L reservoir. I noted that there was no strain on the shoulder harness threads or anywhere else on the pack. The MR Scree 32L will be my day pack and I'll be researching their larger packs for winter use.
