That flag issue is beyond the pale - there's no question that the relevant Justice must *not* have any say in any related matter, as they've chosen to consciously indicate that they are aligned with the very people that they're tasked with ruling over, rendering their position untenable due to an overt conflict of interest. Chief Justice John Roberts must act responsibly, LEAD the Supreme Court, and recuse Alito & Thomas in cases where either is compromised. Otherwise, Roberts stands with them. His responsibility & authority over the court require him to do so.

You obviously haven't checked Roberts' actions over the years. Not only does he share the views of Alito and Thomas, he's too spineless to take any action even if he didn't have the same beliefs. He has already refused an invitation to appear in the Senate concerning the lack of ethical oversight in the SC. He "presided" over Trump's first impeachment trial, but allowed the Repubs to refuse having witnesses, and I think he refused to "preside" at all at the second impeachment trial. He's weak, has no idea of leadership.
