I just got out of the Provo CityTemple, got in the car, and see this perfect message, it was what I needed, because my road in the church has been pretty much alone, lost my kids and a wife that just walked away. There are more miracles to come to my life and more trials, but this reminder will be always there in my mind and heart. Father how blessed we are to have living prophets and apostles.

There's more here even. Every time I listen I glean more! I have some health issues and one 36 hours period I was forced to go without my medication for nerve pain. I truly wanted to bash my head out against the cement wall but I didn't because of fear of what might follow that I didn't know about. Not just here on earth but after I had bashed my head bloody and there wasn't any more. I tremble to get this close to comparing my trial with that of the Lord, but I my thoughts wantered to Him as I walked for 36 hours straight in order to endure. As I listened I caught Elder Holland's words that God couldn't have deserted His Son even though Jesus felt He had because Jesus had to FEEL what we feel in order to KNOW what He had to know. You'd think that with his Divine make up He would have just known!! Just such a little thought bur what a huge concept. Have I heard this talk before? Yes indeed, but there are so many huge tidbits of knowlege that I come often to listen again.
@glena375 жыл бұрын
It seems that calling us non-christian isn't enough anymore. That label doesn't carry enough blackness anymore so they have to come up with something else. I am married to a non member and am allowed to worship as I want but I'm carefully shunned if I get close to mentioning something about a gospel topic. I realize my husband doesn't even understand what the sabbath day means it still doesn't quell my desire to share with him the soaring of my heart when I hear the truth about Jesus Christ and what His life means to me. I really get hung up on this worship of the cross by other churches! I keep a picture of Jesus emerging from the tomb in the most centralized place in my home. I hope it is seen by all. I hope everyone will ask a question about it. It is the only way I can combat what I call "worship of the cross".
@Sony11.4 жыл бұрын
@@glena37 People are not called to worship the cross. Christians are called to take his cross up and follow Jesus through any hardship and always have faith. Matthew 10:38-39 Jesus says," And he who does not take up the cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for My sake will find it."

Satan is a miserable being that has no glory nor gives any glory, he is the father of lies and will try to capture and steal the souls of Heavenly Father's children so they would become like him. But, I know that Heavenly Father loves us and He has a plan for us, I exhort you, to always pray and keep trying, and learn of Him, whom is meek and lowly in heart. In temptation, we are not perfect and may give in. But as you pray with a sincere heart and tell Heavenly Father what is on your mind, your struggles, your weaknesses--- He will give you strength and help you; the answer might be a "no" or a "not yet" He will answer in a still small voice: I know that He is listening, and that He loves you and He loves me, and each and everyone of His children so much. As soon you start to say the words "Our Father in Heaven", He is listening and with love-filled condescending eyes and a compassionate expression, to fill and hear your every need. When adversity and temptation strike hard, with strong forces of wind, or bombarding afflictions. You can tell Satan "Begone Satan! You have no glory here." In the name of Jesus Christ, amen.

I say this in reverence and with a child-like thought. Would it be a sacrifice and heartbreaking yet proud moment for God the Father, I know He is perfect. But He is pure love and light, that sending His Only Begotten Son that would be willing to sacrifice Himself for all of His children? For example when a father is saying goodbye to his son or daughter so they can spread the gospel on their mission? Wouldn't He have not wept to see His Son achieve the Atonement perfectly? And rejoice when the heavens are opened and He says to Him, you have done well my Son, I am well pleased. Just like I imagine in time of when we get to heaven and feel the warm embrace of our Heavenly Father, saying to us. You have done well my son/daughter, welcome back home.

Look at that trial in this perspective. In stead of Barabus standing there it was you. A sinner who deserves to be punished for disobeying God. Instead of you getting the punishment you know you deserve. Jesus takes your place. He is the unblemished lamb that was sacrificed for your sins. You can never pay him back or figure out another way for you to be saved. This had to happen so those who believe and accept Jesus as their lord and savior will then take him a our sacrifice so our sins will be forgiven of us. It’s ashame how Mormons look at Jesus sacrifice as a bad thing Or even them believeIng it is insufficient when that is the only way to get to heaven. The reason why the Israelites has to do sacrifices in their temples every year was so all of their sins for that year will be forgiven of them. They would constantly do this until the savior came to be the ultimate sacrifice for all sins of the world. Romans 6: 23 the wages of sin is death. 1 John chapter 2:1and 2 my little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the father, Jesus Christ, the righteous: and he is the propitiation for our sins:and not for ours only, but also the sins of the whole world. John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believe in him shall not perish, but everlasting life. John 1:29 the next day John seeth Jesus coming unto Him, and saith, behold the lamb of God, which taketh away sin for the world!

You're not getting it, that's your problem. If any man, woman or child who has felt rejected, suffered injustice, abandonment, pain of going through divorce or lost a love one, feeling alone, Jeffrey R Holland is saying you won't be alone in that path because Jesus has walked the path of loneliness, he was alone in the Mount of Olives ,as he was praying to the father, blood drops coming down. His divine mission was to fulfill his father's plan. He walked the loneliness path once. We don't have to go through this life loneliness because he's done it, and is with us all the way
