Every time she smiles her beautiful blue eyes sparkle from just like my own Ma. I had a Grandma just like Nonna (Ma's Mom) she was a petite Polish Lady who raised her 6 children through rhe depression and world war 2, Grampa was 14 years older than her, came from Poland and got US citizenship by fighting for USA in World War 1. Grandma Pauline had a bit of an accent and was an awesome cook. She was practical, religious, kind, caring and giving, a four foot eleven inch powerhouse. She passed away when I was 16, the older I get the more I miss her.

Yummy fettine. Made with simple ingredients, in this case thin steak alla pizzaiola (tomato sauce), a great classic of Italian cuisine! Steaks of veal or beef fried and dipped in delicious tomato sauce dressed with garlic and oregano. Only needs a few minutes to cook! Needs bread to soak up extra sauce and clean the plate 😊
