For so many years, the Airsoft community lacked a replica of such... until Northeast came along and WOW'ed the world with its exquisite replication of this historical gun! First the Sten MK2, then the MK2S and now, the Sten MKV!

It's funny how a weapon made so simply for manufacturing costs (during ww2) is one of the highest quality Airsoft replicas out there today - I would argue maybe even the best considering it's an all steel, 1:1 scale replica able to use RS parts. Well done NorthEast!

lol Yeah. Unfortunately with the redesign to keep the same dimensions while fitting a new gas system, ensuring the seals and gas efficiency are effective are much more intricate than the real thing. Cost of manufacturing a small batch and the cost of materials from a very geographical different location could add to these factors too. That said, for the built and finish, it is much cheaper than some of the CNC forged stuff I see from GBB or PTW AR Systems lol

I am very impressed of your review and the field test, you are cover very welll of this detail and explaining of this Sten MK5 gas SMG, I am already fall in love with this product, has to be the best of the best airsoft GBB SMG I have ever seen by far compare out of all of it GBB products in the market today. I hope in the future, the Northeast airsoft company will produce the gas blowback of the WW2 U.S. grease gun, and my most favorite of all time, the early 60's the S&W M76 SMG. Great review. The Sten Mark V (or 5) 'Machine Carbine' (as it was originally known in WWII British terminology) was the final design that really showed it's full potential, and at last a wooden Foregrip to use instead of having to hold under the barrel, as I believe holding the Magazine may have accidentally operated the Magazine release catch causing the Magazine to either move, a jammed round or misfeed , or for it come off completely; plus it had the Semi or Full Auto function. It certainly has a distinctive profile with the Foregrip and Bayonet fitted. Kind regards.

Hello, Nonocat!. yes, I agree, I would love to have the GBB PPSH, because, the PPSH has a very high firing rate, it a one exciting piece of hardware in a real steel. Definitely, would be a one hell of a super realistic airsoft GBB, if hit the market!

That is awesome! I have a real Sten Mk5. I am not an airsoft guy, but now I want one of these as well...Looks very well made. And the bolt goes back and forth, just like the real Sten. Seems to have some recoil to it also.

I wish it would fire steel bbs like the umarex replicas but otherwise it's an awesome replica and I do understand it is for airsoft.

I never saw the need for steel BBs. Airsoft with plastic BBs are more accurate and have more range due to the hop up system so even for target shooting, training and Action Air IPSC, I find Airsoft to be more effective.

Hey, cool review of this nice piece of history. Although, I've heard that it does actually have a bolt lock on last fire, but that it's off by default. You have to open the magazine up to turn it on.

There is inconsistent feeding maybe because you're holding on to the mag don't hold on the mag hold on your foregrip you hold onto the mag it can cause a miss feed your pulling back on the mag you're binding it

Remove the hex screw at the bottom, remove the grip, then wiggle and slide the entire ring with bolt off the handguard :)

Bit late to this comment section but hopefully you see this. I’m having severe trouble with swiveling out the mag well while everyone else makes it look like a baby could do it. I’ve pulled out on the pin which I now know your not supposed to do and got it almost up but I can push it back into the hole, and mags won’t load either now. You seem knowledgeable on this gun so maybe you could explain what I’ve horribly messed up. Thanks!!!

Ah hey buddy. Sorry to hear the issue. That magwell was indeed quite tough. Is the magwell aligned properly? Even if the pin doesn't lock, mag should go in. As with the pin, I had to mallet it from the front side otherwise it couldn't go in. If you send me some photos via insta or fb, I can have a look for you. 🙂

They've actually been around making kits and parts for other branded Airsoft GBBs but decided to make their own gun :) a bit like Modify or Hephaestus tbh
