Always nice to come across a real engi lets play. Once you are capable of maximum efficiency it is no longer the priority, setting aside time to put thought into how the builds will look. I am definitely going to go for a second run on this.

It's funny seeing so many comments saying they're glad you're taking your time... I'm glad you're not so slow! I'm so sick of every MC series being a tutorial, like we need to be taught every little mechanic in every single modpack over and over again. And it's never enough to just say "this works like this", they have to spend 30 seconds demonstrating! Every single time! I just want to watch someone play normally, and if you do something I've never seen before, I can learn just by seeing it done! So thank you for not making every little recipe and mod interaction a tutorial and just getting on with it.

You show us what you are doing and talk about it all in a way that is so easy to follow and understand ...and even when you do some off camera work you walk us through what you did ... at a very nice pace ... so many youtubers talk too fast or skip over lots of what they did off camera and leave me feeling lost and bewildered ... I have a solid grasp on how to play a skyblock pack after watching your first 4 videos in this series. You inspired me to restart my game and start out with the single tree, single dirt and piece of bedrock and its turning out to be way more fun than when I started with cozy cottage.

This sort of pack is a lousy way to play vanilla, but it's a great way to experiment with combining mods in fun and profitable ways. That's why I like the kitchen-sink packs have the right mix of "make a lot of..." and "use all these mods..." to get to an established end goal (ATM Star, in this case). It's fun to use new mods -- or improve on previous uses of old ones, mechanically or aesthetically -- and it's fun to find ways to make loads of something which requires good automation and efficiency. So that's my take on it. :)

1) Ultimine works with the sieves - Hold your hotkey and you can sieve up to 64 at once. It respects your mode - shapeless will grab the 64 closest adjacent. 2) Break 2 logs and make a crafting table and a crook - this lets you be a lot more likely to get a sapling. This is the standard method for all packs with them

You're lucky, in most packs the sieves are coded to have a limited speed. The Create depot is really cheap and allows you to right-click items on and off for the lava cooking which also prevents you from getting cooked :) Nice start!
@Nonsanity7 ай бұрын
Hi, Linda! I’m glad there’s no limit, as speeding up the boring bits seems like a good way to make things more enjoyable. The depot makes automation simpler and prevents despairing, but raw-dumping the stuff on the ground allows many, many stacks to be processed at once. I like the speed. ;)

3:17 No, they are not the same amount. Since 4 framed cubes cost 4 planks + 4 sticks (2 planks) = 6 planks / 4 cubes. 6 slabs costs 3 blocks, and because you made 12 of them, you used 6 blocks, in this case 6 framed cubes, and spent 12 planks to be able to craft it (since 4 framed cubes = 6 planks, but you cannot craft partially, hence you crafted 8 framed cubes = 12 planks), Then you used 6 of those blocks to craft 12 slabs. Remember that since 4 framed = 6 planks, we can easily see 1:1,5 (or 2:3) ratio. In case of planks, you'd use 6 planks to get 12 of slabs, here you technically used 9 planks to get 12 framed slabs. (3:4 ratio) If you used planks instead, you'd get 18 slabs (1:2 ratio) (For 24 framed slabs (18 planks) you'd get 36 normal slabs)). Not to mention that framed slab requires a block. If you put plank there, then we see 5:6 ratio (planks/framed slabs), which makes this block horribly inefficient in early stages of the game, and/or if you're planning to put planks in it. (basically for cost of 24 filled framed slabs (20 planks) you can make 36 normal slabs and have 2 left, or 40). That's very inefficient.
@Nonsanity7 ай бұрын
LOVE the number-crunching! :) That’s why I said “the same, plus the sticks” since you get sticks when chopping down the trees, so you don’t have to make them from the logs. But yes, they are a bit more expensive, plus you eventually have to put another block on them to change the look. But they are still sort of fun and different. ;)
