Travelled this same train in the opposite direction a couple of weeks ago. It was extremely busy but nevertheless excellent and comfortable. We had first class rail passes and mistakenly thought that as per aircraft, business class was in between first and economy in terms of service. The seats were comfortable and the food was surprisingly good. The OBB lounges are excellent also. What a great company- we used their excellent nightjet service too. And yes, those toilets are so scenic! What a great idea to wrap them in landscape wallpaper! Love your videos, keep up the great work!

I'm from Slovenia, but I travelled with Railjets many times, with austrian and czech sets (but I personaly prefer austrian sets). Comparing to the other trains aroud Europe I've used so far, Railjet is still my favorite intercity train. Great comfort, clean trains, great service, very friendly staff. I haven't tried busiess class yet, but economy and 1st class were already great joy to ride for me, especialy in the quiet zone which feels at least as quiet as a library. ÖBB realy thought of every little detail on these trains, eve the family section witl the child cinema must be real fun for kids and families travelling together. Great job ÖBB! And to you, great job for your videos! :)

I am living in Wörgl. My hobby is to drive as a passanger through Austria by train. I know like every single train and its timetable on this route and it makes me happy to see videos like this because then I know how much it is worth to live here. Went Zurich to Wien back in Summer 2019 diverted via Kitzbüel in First Class. Beautiful scenic run with exemplary Railjet. Love these trains. Superb video.

Thank you for a splendid video ! I completely agree with all that you say. Salzburg is fabulous, as are the OBB RailJets, my favourite European long distance train. I use the service between Wien and Zurich, using 1st Class, and the train has never disappointed me. I always use the OBB site for my reservations too.

Great trip. As always, Railjet is awesome. That's why the first stop after Salzburg is far, because the direct route between two cities passing other country. That solo business class seating with glass partition feels like secret/private/hidden room. Ahh I know the reason why Railjet train consists always longer.

Another excellent video. I am booked to travel Business Class from Budapest to Zürich on 05 March, 2023. It was interesting for me to see the seats in Business Class and I am fortunate enough to have booked seat 52, the seat you said was your favourite. I hope that the service of catering is as good as you mention. I've heard stories about difficulties with payment by Bank card and I just hope my British bank card will be accepted. I am really looking forward to my trip on ÖBB Railjet Business class.

Great video, I took Railjet business class from Vienna to Prague. I was traveling on a first class Eurail pass. I had to pay 15 extra euros for the business class. It was well worth it. Comfy seats, tons of leg room. They even gave me a free beer for upgrading. I paid the upgrade on the train.

What a beautiful landscape!! Nice video once again! But as a history buff, i want to make a vital correction!! The Battle of Castle Itter was not some kind of last stronghold of some German unit. It was a VIP prison for French politicians, athletes etc. In May 1945, the SS garrison abandoned the castle, the prisoners took the arms and then aided by both a small US force that arrived and a Wehrmacht unit under German major Josef Gangl which was collaborating with the Austrian resistance. Gangl knew the SS will return to execute the prisoners and all together, the set a defence to fight the SS. It was the only battle of WWII where US, German and French men fought together against Germans!

Have not tried business class personally as I find 1st class more than comfortable for my journeys. I always use the railjet on a Saturday lunchtime in early September each year travelling from Munich Hbf to Innsbruck on the Feldkirch train for my annual holiday in the Tyrol. Regularly travel 2nd class whilst there for trips out and about!

Innsbruck-Salzburg is a tad short to pay the additional 15 € to upgrade from 1st to business, but OK ;-) The section in Germany often "provides" extra time, or even a detour via Hochfilzen (and Kitzbühl and so on), so it might make sense after all #LOL I only use the buisness class when I'm on my way to a *really* important meeting. Except once when I got an upgrade voucher, and once when the train was crazy full and I had no reservation. Both these occations were in the pre-RailJet era. Some of the remaining ÖBB EuroCity (or short "EC") trains also have some 2 buisnessclass compartments.

Yes a lot of luxurious travel but my only concern is the long walks on the what seems to be endless platforms and when you do get to the end -nowhere to sit or am I missing something . There appears to be a lack of seating for waiting travelers on the platforms ?

I tried OBB Business Class(September 2022) once and I was very dissapointed. The on board Service missed. The conductor just check my ticket and that's was all, I never seen her in the coach after that. Is true that I was the only passenger on this class, but still. And the ride was 1h45 long.

Most are, yes! Up to a 10kg dog can usually be taken without pre booking, but be sure to check each operator, for free. But many accept bigger ones too, for a fee. Finland are especially dog friendly and have dedicated areas where you can book a seat for you 🐶!

We have about 30 clients here. Today we encountered an unfortunate incident. The OBB train from Vienna to Budapest does not have carriage 408. There are 30 passengers here. OBB company is not a good company. Responsible company. Now we have no seats left. We are very happy now, but also very restless and anxious. We didn’t know how to get to Budapest. Even the coach manager couldn't help us get on the bus. This is a serious oversight. We ask OBB to compensate us for all losses. We will publish this serious mistake on various network platforms (Google, IG, Facebook, KZbin) to let everyone have a deeper understanding of OBB's mistake. OBB has not made any compensation to us.

I enjoy your videos as the show what a greedy flustercluck of a country the UK has become when it's companies,transport especially, are just hellbent on charging customers stupidly high prices for such appalling services. All in the name of profit,profit,profit. While most of Europe and it's governments manage to balance a good level of service and sensible fares across their networks and their services are used a lot because of this. Austria is such a beautiful country as well and travelling by rail looks a great way of visiting it's many places of beauty and interests without breaking the bank to do it.
