While watching this live I thought to myself how the rig itself would be 10's of thousands but after checking the website.. it's expensive but not *that* expensive, especially considering the quality and modularity of the rig. All of the engineering and design that must've gone in to the development of the product, it seems like a fair price for what you're investing in. Major kudos to Noob and Monstertech for giving us an inside look at how well these products can be brought together!

@@justicebrown1077 Yep, if you're buying this though you probably already have a 1-2k pc, at least 1k spent on pedals/throttle/joystick and another couple hundred on a screen for this thing plus head tracking or maybe vr instead.
@thomgizziz
@thomgizziz Жыл бұрын
@@cavannanicolas That is for a desk... none of the actual pieces you need to run or play any of the games. I have a 3 degree motion setup and if I were to mount all my hardware on this system i'd have to pay 4600 USD and that is without shipping and import charges... for a desk and chair. Tax, shipping and import costs is going to bump that about a grand. So 5500. My current full setup with DD wheel, computer with a 3070ti 64gb ram and a 12700k, hp g2 VR headset, pedals, 2 joysticks for space sims and a throttle for flight sims, touch screen with knob for flight sims, a 55" oled (just use one because I use vr most of the time, surround speakers wired into the setup and a buttkicker cost me 7k with tax and a bunch of import costs. I paid 1500 more than a desk and a chair that doesn't move for a full single monitor setup that is ready to play just about everything and it moves. This is ridiculous. The other ridiculous thing is that this guy makes money doing selling the products he advertises and yet never really tells anybody that everything he is doing is an advertisement, which is a really scumbag thing to do.

This system competes with, and in some way surpasses, actual industry hardware that we order for real fight training devices and simulators. Plus, it is so modular it could be turned into any type of workstation with enough creativity. I also am curious about turning it into a lightweight UAS operator station that can be wheeled around or easily placed in a modular shelter.
@mtsim

Thanks, the MTS is based on a prototype rig we developed for the US Air Force focusing on quick switching between multiple flight setups. We actually also designed a prototype for an operator station with that.

Dude it is standard extruded aluminum frames with standard connectors and end caps. The footage they have there is trivial and you could buy that at retail for a fraction of the cost they are charging. And this guy is advertising to you, he isn't reviewing something for you. He sells and installs this stuff and never really makes it clear that he does that nor his relationship with these companies.

Very nice design and seriosus props to Monster Tech! It's about time someone looked at an all in one rig that's sturdy & has all the support you'd need. I had to fabricate my own from scratch for my simpit and my goal was FPS, Flight, Racing without stuffing around changing out brackets or controllers. (still a WIP with upgrades & improvements) My Left Alpha, Fanatec Shifter & E-Brake are on a locking turntable. My centre mounted Alpha is on a quick disconnect plate that puts the base over and on top of the seat so i didn't need a cutout seat. My keyboard tray is on locking slides with cutouts that clear my sticks for when i FPS out of my ship in SC. Fanatec wheel is mounted and just use the QDC of the wheel. Driving pedals are mounted where they need to be and i can even fit flight pedals in as well but i removed them as i didn't end up using them for SC. TLDR; I can change between FPS, Flight & Driving without even leaving the chair.

The whole reason this interests me, is that the time it takes to set up my wheel, shifter, pedals, sticks, etc, on my desk, often makes me end up changing plans, or not bothering to use them. I have the space to have something like this next to my desk, and all I'd need is an extra monitor. Being able to change configurations quickly with some thumb screws, and not need a second PC, sounds very appealing.

+BrianMP5T *Thanks for a rail system that will accelerate my tandem simpit project.* MONSTERTECH® USA Inc. has a value package of interest in the MTS Fighter, consisting of the Base Frame, Flight Pedal Plate 1, Center Joystick Mount, and HOTAS Left and Right brackets; two such are required, and I'd also spring for two MTS Desk brackets for keyboards plus two shaker plates. (Monstertech doesn't sell a Martin-Baker lookalike seat, so I'll build two with proper headrest and between-the-legs triggers.) Also, don't know how I'll secure the main panels just yet; and I'll need to configure rails for a windshield frame for additional telltales, ALR-67 display, compass, and AOA/Sweep gauges.

I'm back! Haha. I've now watched this particular video several dozen times in making my recent purchases. I've ordered the MTS Base Frame, MTS Base Plate, MTS Floor Mat, MTS Yoke, Pedal Quick-Change set, Velcro Ties (3 sets, though I only want the mount pieces, won't be using the velcro), 2x clips and one Headset holder. Much more to go, mainly still hope to add the MTS TV/Monitor Internal before my order ships. I intend to use it's arms in mounting my C182 panel that's still in progress to try and also make it an easy swap from general aviation to fighter config. I had a couple of questions for you if you don't mind. 1) The "Desk" set looks identical to the Yoke. Meaning the rails and other attachments, minus the one short profile and keyboard tray. I've dug quite thoroughly through their site, but before I ask Alex to just buy the keyboard tray (I did find individual profiles for sale on their site), can you confirm what I see in the pictures on it being the same? 2) I intend to buy their Blackbird seat, but once I order it they have that it can be over a 5 month wait. Any suggestion on a temp seat for now that should mount to the MTS base? I don't mind having to make extras, or machine things if needed. 3) What keyboard do you have there at 11:45 ? I have read through your google doc but didn't see it. Thanks, and thanks again for your videos. They've helped a lot!

Ugggh,,, I work too much. I was once a major sim builder (back in the epic programming days late 90's). Major gamer, simmer, content creator with 12 channels and all I wanted in life at one point was Star Citizen to FINALLY release. Yes, as I said, I work tooooo much and didn't even know it was finally available. Followed it for years and years, looking for the ultimate "Wing Commander" replacement of my day and forgot all about it until watching this, haha (but not haha). Maybe I'll take an early retirement, but now I need to work even harder for the list of gear that is filling my head. Great video! Thanks for corrupting my impeccable work ethic and responsibilities track record. I was born a gamer, and a gamer I will return.

I just don't get how people are able to have such clean houses. I grew up with hoarder parents. We lived very rural and I was home schooled, away from influences not my parents, normalizing those bad habits. I have a kind of blindness to a certain lower level of background radiation of mess from this normalization. As an adult, I've got two dogs and a cat, and there's just dust (from them going outside and tracking it in on their feet and pelts) and hair everywhere. I feel like I would have to clean every day, three hours a day, to just maintain levels and I don't have that kind of time / motivation. If I had a simpit like that, it would just be caked with pet hair in all those cracks and crevices. As it is, my computer desk is already a mess. I have to blast out my computer with an air compressor every couple of weeks to keep idle temps out of the 80's. I almost never clean under the desk or on it because I have three monitors, a G15, joystick, mouse, keyboard, an game pad and taking all that down is just a huge hassle to get all the cables routed right and the angle of all three screens adjusted against eachother correctly that it causes me a lot of anxiety to even think about doing it, the task seems overwhelming and demoralizing. But I love looking at your setup and enjoying it vicariously through your videos. :)

I have 3 big dogs (one is a mastiff) and yeah... Keeping fur and area clean is a fucking nightmare lol. I got to a stage where i've built 2 setups, one is in the kitchen/dining area where i sit with them on a night. It's a 42"tv with a 27" to the side for daily use and gaming with others on discord/steam ect. Nothing to write home about but i didn't throw too much money into it knowing it's a beater system but my other is a sim rig i've put in a spare bedroom that the dogs will NEVER go into. To a point i take my slippers off outside the door on a mat to make sure nothing gets dragged in. Considering i spend maybe an hour or so each night on flight/racing compared to most of my time downstairs it's helped massively. TL:DR... Doggos are great but a pain in the ass when you have multiple and they're big.

With the idea of having a single setup for something like star citizen, 15 year in the future, where I expect to need to transition from walking to driving to flying to space and wanna have more or less a full setup for each, with some cross over. I don't wanna have to get off my rig and put in separate pedals whenever I wanna go for a drive or fly. Or would it just be too uncomfortable? I just don't have any experience with pedals. :S

Beautiful set up, I noticed that you have the Virpil base with the VPC WarBRD words facing away from you, does it make a difference? I have seen both ways.

This dude sells systems like this. This isn't a review it is an infomercial and he is so scummy that he doesn't tell you that he is advertising to you.

With all that stuff, I be it is extremely expensive, maybe enough to buy a used car? Looks pretty cool though, and I bet it is a blast to play sims games with those setups. :)

I am a disabled Veteran with desire to learn real world GA flight procedures in MSFS 20, X-Plane 11/12, etc.. I bought the Simionic G1000 and Stay Level Avionics Flight panel, Honeycomb Yoke, Throttle Quadrant , and MFG Crosswind Rudder pedals. I have been using Monstertech desk mounts for my Saitek X56 H.O.T.A.S.(Elite Dangerous) Sitting at my desk is uncomfortable and looking to put all this in a cockpit. However I can not find a Cockpit that allows for a Instrument avionics panel to be in reaching distance and a Monitor adjustable to be over it in proper placement. I will go VR when optics get better. Any suggestions? in my mind the HOTAS can be tip over out of the way staying connected for easy access (Back injury makes swapping between flight and racing painful so I already have a Racing cockpit.

I can help for sure. This type of SimRig is really great when you want everything at once in the correct place. Simply because you can swing away. They are working on a new set of MFD panel holders plus already have a full set of options. They have a discord and their support line is answered quickly. If you would copy paste quit question to the info line, they are better equipped to tell you about the more prototype or custom solutions that might help you specifically
