I really don’t like Chinese vinegar or spice so I’m glad they mostly give you the option if you want to put it on your noodles or not. I couldn’t eat the level of spice Mike eats. I’m all for super salty food myself so I’m used to not adding seasonings until the very end, until I have my own plate. Then I LOAD UP on soy sauce & salt.

I’m actually underweight because I had anaemia....so I’ve been medically told to eat as much as I can every day. And it’s working. And it’s so good. I don’t get any guilt at all. I’m just happier when I eat now. Noodles. Soy sauce. Salt. That’s my JAAAM.

I was like that person, I added salt before trying my meals but it all catches up to you later in life. I'm sure these guys are younger than me so take an advice from this older lady who is dealing with the repercussions, ease up on the salt. Having HBP is no joke.

I wish there was at least one place anywhere near me that serve soup dumplings! I haven’t had soup dumplings for over 8 years now when I was last in China (and actually again went to the restaurant in Shanghai where the Shanghainese soup dumplings were first “born”) My Chinese family tried to trick me a little when I tried soup dumplings the first time, not telling me about the soup inside. But I did what I’ve always done since: take a nibble and drink the soup out of the dumpling, then scoop up some vinegar with the dumpling. I only use Chinese black vinegar with my dumplings, all that’s needed, especially if it’s Chinkiang vinegar because it’s so good on its own!

For steak day you guys should try "Strip House" (15 West 44th Street). I love the place! They have a bar menu item of sliced strip steak and truffle creamed spinach on toast, amazingly good house potatoes, the bone-in steaks themselves are the most flavorful I have had. Wherever you go, ENJOY!
