My brother and I are nearly 30 and found ourselves enjoying the creativity and whimsy of the series, thinking it was just "good content targeted at a younger demographic"... but then we hit this one and we cried for nearly two hours at King's backstory... holy crap man, that was incredible! Several days later and I'm still choking up just thinking about it; I can't remember the last time a story hit me that hard... thank you for your awesome work.

same, at first when I was like 11, this thing keeps popping up in my recommendation, though I didn't click it because I thought this is one of those cringe Monster School-like type videos, it bothers me that it won't get rid of it in my home page so I clicked it and hey, got into the lore of this. This finale though is so well mixed of emotion, this is just masterpiece.

isnt yellow a prince? because hes the son of orange king (right?) so he would be a crown prince if the orange king is an actual king edit: after scrolling through the replies i think what happened is that the orange king is the yellow son who got stuck in the minecraft and the orange king is the son of the other orange person we see and he became a king in the minecraft realm and the yellow that we see with all the other stickfigures just originated from that stickfigure fighting house that alan made

The fact that the king was pretty much unstoppable at that point but switched sides at his own will (literally because of a change of heart) .That's honestly quite rare to see coming from a villain. And the fact that he's not just some kind of a dumb villain who gets wrecked after loses, he's very strong and intelligent. Literally everyone thought they had him down that one point but he's able to 1v11 with little power to get back the staff. Well written antagonist. Been here since the animator vs animation, it's just getting better

Yea. The work you put in truly shows through the creation of a rich story and well written characters. I can't put into words how fantastic this is. But I can try. King Orange's backstory is tragic and it really makes you feel for him and wish that that fateful day at the fair never happened. The fight is probably the most epic I've ever seen in all of fiction. Purple finally standing up to King Orange and King Orange realizing he cares a great deal for Purple is really sweet. The part where King Orange is in his house and realizing this isn't what Gold would've wanted is emotional, and it's satisfying to see him finally break through the wall that represents those traumatic memories and give Purple; who viewed King Orange as a father, a hug. And the final escape sequence is great as well, seeing the piglins help out and be willing to sacrifice themselves to get the Minecraft icons back to the PC to undo all the damage, which was shown to happen back in The Ultimate Weapon. And the ending consistently brings to to tears. 13/10 Alan. The Minecraft Movie could never. And don't even get me started on the score!

Im not crying you're crying- But on a serious note, this whole series was an actual work of art. Actions speak louder than words, as they say, and the way Alan Becker described this entire story in such a moving way while using only movement is both inspirational and beautiful. The entire relationship between King and purple had me on the verge of tears so many times. The fact that they both lost the people most important to them, making them bitter to everyone until they found eachother and saw those people in eachother is so well written and expressed. (Unlike this sentance, haha) I've loved this series from the very very first episode, and I am more than pleased, impressed, shocked, and moved by how far it's come and how it ended. (On a side note, the true motive behind both King and Purples actions was a huge plot twist and view changer. At first I thought the only thing they were after was power, before we saw Kings backstory. By the end battle I didn't know who I was rooting for, until the Void scene occured. I thought he was trying to get his son back when in reality he was just talking out his anger on everything in his path, including the cause itself. Really poetic and again, absolutely stunning how this entire series has developed to this point!)

17:36 I just *ADORE* how Herobrine comes in with this sense of power. This overwhelming force, that only seems to be a legend to some, has arrived to patch things up. Yet... The moment he sees that The King can absorb his Player Minions, he hesitates. He's seen backing up a bit. What was originally this symbol of power and fear turned heroic god, suddenly becomes noticeably afraid, a new feeling that's washes over him like a tidal wave. What once was an easy fight just turned for the worst, and you can see him just back up slightly. He'll fight, but not with the same confidence he just had. This is why I love Alan's animations so much, the details that you barely notice, yet improve the animation tenfold. Subtle references to previous entries to the series. Everything about these animations screams life into seemingly average and basic things such as Minecraft and Stickman animations.

The fact that this team was able to take stick figures in a block game and turn it into an absolute cinematic masterpiece really shows the sheer talent of everyone involved. Literally everything about this is perfect: the intricate plot with little subtilties, the animation on another level, the music that I need on Spotify right now, and even the tribute to Tecnoblade at the end, all without a single word of dialogue. This is truly a story for the ages.

To think I cried over a battle of stick figures, who, throughout their entire existence, have never spoken a single real word. This series is an absolute masterpiece, it takes “show don’t tell” to an entirely new level. Not only is the animation absolutely incredible, but the story is so poetic yet so simple. This is genuinely one of the best things I think I’ve ever seen on the internet. I remember watching Alan Becker’s animations for years, but this is genuinely something else. Man, that scene where King Orange hugs Purple makes me cry. Every. Single. Time. There's just so much symbolism from the violin playing, to the fact that King Orange finally broke through the glass, and to break through the glass he had to break through the angry rage-and-revenge-fueled version of himself, and it was Purple on the other side of it instead of his son, and King's glass shards look like Purple's flower petals... I could go on. It's just so good. Oh yeah, and the fact that the melody from Purple's song in the previous episode plays when he's running towards King- just emphasizing how it mirrors the desperate struggle Purple's made to get to that father figure all his life- it makes my little musician brain explode with happiness. When I first watched that part, I recognized the melody instantly, and I pretty nearly screamed from excitement.

So. This was an insane finale, referencing literally every episode that predates it. The final rush to get the block back to the desktop felt symbolic of them finally ending the story, much like how they did before, with everything they found and saw crumbling around them. The other thing I would like to note is how Alan managed to tie King Orange and Purple’s stories together, making them so similar to what the other lost. There is so many other moments and details that make this animation the peak of perfection. The animation is beautiful, the storytelling is creative, and it is easy to tell what is going on, all wrapped into one thirty minute episode. Insane job Alan, and the rest of the team.

Moral of the story: revenge isn't a good thing. I know revenge can be good. Though it's only gonna be good if you know what you're actually doing. Sometimes revenge can turn you into something that you hated the most. Or it might leave you to an existential crisis because you've done it. You wasted your time. Now you have no purpose. Vengeance can make you blind about what you're doing to yourself.

What an amazing way to tie all the loose nots and finally end this rollercoaster of a series. From the start there was a sort of mystery surrounding the two main “antagonist” of these shorts and the fact that we get such a perfect ending for both of them is amazing. Someone who lost his son who finds someone similar to love and a child stripped of his father’s love finds someone who he can actually call his father is just such a Disney level ending that it nearly brought me to tears just watching it for the first time. They story, the animation, the sheer length. It Truly is just a masterpiece. Plus the way everyone becomes friends and finds their own happy endings is just. God.

A finale that nearly brought tears to my eyes when few else can. I’ve grown to miss the villains who do not have a change of heart because of the heroes, but a villain who has a change of heart because he finally sees his actions for what they really are and chooses to make a desperate attempt to undo his sins. Human emotion can make a villain, but can change one all the same. To call it a “cop out” or “plot convenience” is a crime, it’s human, and it’s beautiful

I remember watching these little dudes when I was younger! I was kind of catching up on this exactly when the story started to progress and just realized when this video got recommended that this might be the end of the series. I started to re-watch EVERYTHING before the end to refresh my memory (I didn't even realized I missed like a quarter section of the series lol); from the very original one where The Chosen One was created, where they(Stick Fighters and Second Coming) all met, to them being in video games like old school arcade games, LOL, and this, Minecraft. Suddenly it started having shorts where they all do silly things and I've grown attached to them more than I expected! This series mean so much to me and I cannot thank you and your team enough for making this! I still giggle and laugh at all the gags and jokes like the same videos from 8 years ago(although not exactly at those years since I didn't have access to the internet at that time LOL)! I love all the personalities you gave the stick figures and I love all their interactions, I keep having myself to pause at some moments because I want to see their movements individually when they all do crazy stuff at once! You inspired me and most likely so many others so much to be an artist and an animator, thank you once again for this lovely series with endearing lovable characters, a heart wrenching storyline, and an amazing ending!:DD

I may have to come back to this and point out any other details, but at around 21:48 when Green reaches out to Purple, you can hear in the soundtrack a tiny bit of the motif of when Green was trying to catch up to Purple back in the musical episode. Those few notes were what triggered Purple to give his backstory to Green, why he's fighting for King and why he decided to help him accomplish King's mission. The fact that Purple is stepping up for our beloved fighters, now fighting AGAINST King, which could be his very last fight, shows just how much Purple developed in these past several episodes and now knows what to fight for and who to fight for. Green reaching out to him, pleading him not to go, also shows how much the 5 and Purple's friendships have blossomed after Purple has sided with them. Very subtle detail, it might also be because the musical episode was my favorite out of all of them and I instantly recognized the tune, but amazing detail nonetheless. Amazing job as always, Alan!

You sir have outdone yourself. Without even saying a word, everything said held such gravity. it has been a real journey though I don't think we can call these half hour episodes "shorts" anymore. Its hard to believe how far this series has come, from simple 2D animations on a generic windows background to a full blow 3D environment and a story better than anything being put out of Hollywood. This may not be the last we see of our favorite stick figures, but you nailed the ending perfectly, something that has always been hard to do.
