The reason that pole is indestructable is that it has electrical wires on it, so if you destroy the pole, it would cause a blackout. So Rockstar thought that it would be unrealistic if you destroyed the pole and nothing happened, but they also were too lazy to program that shit, so they just made the poles with wires indestructable.

I think a good way to do Heists in the next GTA game is having your crew actually matter, you CAN get the best outcome with a shit crew but it will be difficult, and if you have the best crew it will essentially make it so you are, in Michael's words "buying myself a score"

The reason why these pols are indestructible is because of the wires attached to them. Like this they can avoid having either floating wires or a lot of lag (I suppose)

I'm sure no one *actually* wanted the reasoning, but the reason as to why the poles are indestructible is because they have power lines connected to them. And instead of making the powerlines have physics, (which tbf is forgivable with how old the game is at this point), they just made the poles not fall down.
