It has begun! We are in Liverpool for this week's contest and will be documenting our journey as we embark on as press, today I had a chat with Spain's representative for this year's contest, the amazing Blanca Paloma.

I've said before that if Finland (my favorite) or Sweden (the bookies' favorite) doesn't win, Spain is both my pick for most likely to pull off an upset over either of them and probably the one I'd be happiest with winning other than Finland! From what i'm able to gather from her, she lives in the same area of Spain as the best friend I had at school! You can hear in her song the ethnic elements, the flamenco from Alicante!

@@lanara2004 Yo lo he entendido. Se refiere a la influencia. Hay mucho Andaluz< que en su día emigró así como los gitanos que están en todos los sitios. Elbicho si no me estoy equivocando son de Alicante. Lo mismo pasa en Cataluña que es la pequeña Andalucía. Yo soy de Badalona y de allí salió Miguel Poveda. Así que si, las raíces son Andaluzas pero esparcidas por todo el territorio.
