Keke Palmer brought a good amount of the humor, but also had some very strong emotional moments. The pacing in this movie was the biggest problem for me. Our main characters were great and the overall cast is astounding, but I wanted more backstory with our two main characters and their animosity towards each other. Also the reaction to the UFO/creature should’ve been more freaked out and profound. Even when their father died I never felt that there was much emotion there besides OJ being downtrodden and silent but it seems like he’s always like that. The subplot with the chimp is arguably the most tense and best part but I don’t think it’s tied together very well in the end. I do like Jordan Peeles influence from M night, you can tell he’s a main influence. Overall I enjoyed it but was a tad disappointed with how everything came together in the end.

I mean I loved the idea he had but the execution was horrible. The way the old man left was weird and kinda not really known why he did what he did. The TMZ guy seemed like he was there to explain the bike she needed. And give him something to eat. I would say this is Peele's worst movie to date. Still trying to figure out the plot.
