Sean, no joke: I am currently in the theatre right now using the cinema’s free WIFI and am about to see Nope. Edit: I saw Nope a couple hours ago and it was great! The visuals are stunning to look at, and all the characters are likeable and fun to interact with. The intrigue and mystery of the movie was so awesome! 8.5/10 currently

Highly entertaining, must see in the best possible theater. Definitely his funniest movie to date. And for me a movie I'll watch several more times trying to figure out all the layers. I disagree about Peele being too on the nose. I think he does a really good job of making subtle points, and when he does have to just say it, it's entertaining and not pigeonholed.

I really loved this movie. One particular subplot I didn’t (even though it fit thematically). Definitely a throw back to “Signs” and “Close Encounters”. I just love that there are still filmmakers desiring to make original films. That gets me excited. And this scratched an itch for me. As someone who liked “Us” more than “Get Out”, this movie is easily more accessible to me than those previous two. I loved it! Glad it saw it tonight.

I just got back from watching this film. This was one of my most anticipated movies of 2022 and it didn't disappoint! I thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end. I love like you said it was an original story, there wasn't a dull/boring moment, the cast was fantastic in particular KeKe Palmer and Daniel Kaluuya who really felt like sister and brother, I love the story/plot, mysterious angle of this film etc. Its Jordan Peele's first film in three years and he gets better and better at his craft. The humor lands in this movie too without overdoing it. The climax is great too and the cinematography is excellent. Its a movie you have to watch twice to get all the plot points and see in IMAX or 4DX to get the full experience. It gets a 8.5/10 for me. This was another great review Sean.

For me personally, I really like this movie. I just had one pretty big problem. Without spoiling anything, the whole backstory on Yeuns character in the beginning and halfway through the film was completely unnecessary and did not add anything to the movie. I kept expecting it to come back up but it never did. Although it did give me easily the scariest scene in the movie, so I guess there's that
@universaldorks7478

It ties into one of the main themes of the movie, animal exploitation in TV and films.
@jonqusdut4747
@jonqusdut4747 2 жыл бұрын
(Spoilers) So the monkey was a “wild” animal that they tried to tame and it was going good for a while until suddenly it went insane and killed many at the tv studio. Yeun’s character in the movie had tried to tame the ufo creature and it was fine doing his rodeo shows until it too lost control and ended up eating everything. Now maybe Yuen’s character should have realized he couldn’t control this beast since the monkey he had worked with had the same thing going on with it, one could argue his decisions don’t make sense but to say that his backstory adds nothing to the movie is just wrong.
@mariahshama9494
@mariahshama9494 2 жыл бұрын
The monkey was blown away after it shared a moment with Yeun's character as a child. Yeun thought he had a second chance now with this UFO creature, hoping that it too wouldn't ultimately be blown away. But that doesn't really come across as the story is being presented.
@loveotherproblems4928
@loveotherproblems4928 2 жыл бұрын
Yeuns character seems to tie more into an arc of redeeming & taming past trauma (that bit him in the Azz). It did tie into the movie albeit in a twightlight zone way. And, he could have actually made this into a separate movie it was so good. The 'gordy' section was actually the scariest part of the movie

I think it’s definitely his most entertaining movie, and probably on paper the best but Get Out is still a masterpiece that holds out higher than Nope in a few ways. Daniel Kaluuya is becoming one of my favorite actors and Keke was amazing as well. Like Peele movies there are lots of symbolism and things you would have to rewatch to interpret. I'm a huge Peele fan & NOPE was my #1 anticipated film of the year. This film certainly had a surprise, blockbuster feel to it, all the while being visually striking & the sound mix was incredible. I felt this was his most ambitious of all his films; yet lacked focus more times than needed (ie. chimp?). Still would give an 8/10 for solid direction, creativity, acting & sound mix.

I just came out of the theatre watching this movie for the first time since it only came out in NZ on Thursday and my god what a movie I really enjoyed this film it was a very interesting film and I will definitely watch this again one of my favourite movies of the year and possibly my Top 5 this year. SPOILERS AHEAD!! What I thought was one of the most disturbing scenes was the monkey scene it just had something to it that just made it so unsettling and just how there had been no background music or anything it just makes you watch everything go down and people being brutally murdered. But there was also the scene that happened a few minutes after which had been when everyone had been sucked up. What I thought about this scene was that it was very chilli g and terrifying just seeing everyone being digested by the alien and see them scream in fear it’s a great way to capture how dangerous and horrifying this alien is. I also like the plot with the Haywoods and how they want to get the Oprah shot so they can become rich and have a good life. anyways this movie is one of the best of this year.

To be completely honest, I don't know what to feel about this movie. I think the cinematography is gorgeous and it is a really good-looking movie! But story wise I just didn't understand it. I know all of his movies have deeper meanings to them. I really enjoyed GET OUT, I was hit and miss on "US" but I really do not know what to make of this movie from a story standpoint. The acting, cinematography, and directing were all great and I really respect this movie's ambition but the story is one I think I'll have to watch again to fully grasp it. I just did not really get the story to give an accurate grade on it but if you were to put a gun to my head off my first viewing I would give it a 6/10. An average UFO movie on first viewing to me but I am sure it's only going to get better to me the more I watch it!

So I'm not sure what to expect from this one it has better ratings from people than US but still below Get Out part of me feels Peele peaked with Get Out and I feel like all his films and work after has suffered from that I also hated his CandyMan reboot which he wrote but didn't direct his Twilight Zone reboot sucked too. Am I missing something that everybody else is seeing? Maybe I'm being too harsh by comparing it to Get Out, which I loved... I didn't love this movie. I don't think I even liked it. Keke Palmer is said to be the standout, but most of her lines felt forced and I didn't really laugh at anything she said, or any of the comedy in this movie while other people in the theater around me were cracking up... Daniel Kaluuyah was stale to the point that I had no investment in his character. The first hour was pretty boring. I don't know. This just didn't land with me at all.

@@eliassettbassett643 I don't think his movies are very good. Plus I don't respect him as a person. He said that he will never cast a white person as the lead actor in any of his movies. I don't respect racists

@@dvitoc well in his defense I'll say that he makes very "black" movies in the same vane as Spike Lee kind of. Basically he just wants to write stories about black people, his own race and let's face it there's a hell of a lot less black actors than white actors. So personally I don't really see a problem with it. It's the same thing with directors like Martin Scorsese and Steven Spielberg who for the most part choose to make movies where their own race are the main characters. There's nothing inherently wrong with that. Should he have said to that? Probably not but personally I think he just wants to tell black lead stories and that's cool. Also he casts white people in his movies all the time so he's definitely not racist, he just chooses to have black lead stories that's all.

@@eliassettbassett643 there is a problem when someone says that are not going to employee someone based on their skin color. That is the definition of racism...making him a racist. I don't respect or like racists. Scorsese has never made a comment like that even though yes, most of the lead actors in his films were white.

I got my 100th subscriber. Thanks for investing in me, Sean. I have the rest of 2022 mapped out. I have ideas for 2023, I just need a bigger audience [250 by Thanksgiving] to invest in me, that way I can invest in better content for them.

It ties into the major themes of the film that come together perfectly. I can explain the themes if you want I guess, if you didn't know them. For me the themes came together perfectly and made it my favorite movie of the year.

I will watch Nope if it doesn't have underlying themes of race like "Get Out" or "Us". I don't like being preached to about racism so if Nope tries to just tell a good story, I will see it.
