Oh my god, not every movie has to be a cinematic masterpiece. If Deadpool & Wolverine delivers when it sets out to deliver, then the movie has done its job. Is the movie perfect? No, but when people say the movie sucks or say it’s bottom 10 of the year, I think they’re on some of that good👌stuff that they’re not sharing. It’s like go watch Challengers, Nosferatu or The Brutalist if you want best of the year material. The hate D&W gets makes no sense.

Worst movie of the year was Joker 2. I felt so betrayed and disappointed by it. All Todd Phillips did was make the biggest F you film ever. Majority of the films on this list I did not see, pretty much all the movies on this I didn’t see except for the #1 Three way tie with only Venom 3

Argylle is easily my least favorite movie of the year. It's one thing to be boring and unfunny, it's another thing to try so hard to be cool and clever yet fail so miserably. On top of that, it's damn near 2 and a half hours long. Utter garbage

I can’t blame anyone for not watching Megamind vs the Doom Syndicate but it is legitimately one of the worst movies I have ever watched in my life. Here are my picks for the worst movies of 2024: 10. The Strangers: Chapter 1-A kickoff to a trilogy of Strangers films essentially remaking 2008’s “The Strangers”, but stripping away every well done aspect of that film and replacing those elements with PG-13 level kills and moronic character decisions to stretch out the runtime to feature length 9. Atlas-One of 2024’s many straight to streaming service original movies that has everything to be just flashy enough to not click away, but nothing to leave a lasting memory as soon as the credits begin to roll 8. Dear Santa-This Paramount+ Original Movie attaches Bobby Farrelly as director, Peter Farrelly as writer, and Jack Black as the star to a mildly clever Christmas comedy premise and completely misses the mark at having both laughs as a comedy and sentimentality as a Christmas film aimed for families 7. Rebel Moon - Part Two: The Scargiver-The second half to the somehow underdeveloped and bloated PG-13 version of Zack Snyder’s Rebel Moon that shows how Netflix letting Snyder off the leash to write a screenplay, build out his own world, and be the cinematographer will backfire on both of them and hurt Snyder’s reputation as a filmmaker 6. Borderlands-A completely misguided video game movie adaptation that delivers a cast with zero chemistry, questionable at best editing and VFX, and a story without stakes or urgency, which makes for easily the worst directorial film from Eli Roth 5. Kraven the Hunter-When you put aside the bits of R Rated violence, every element of this cobbled together piece of studio slop is even more incompetent than Catwoman (2004) to make for the highest grossing Kraven movie of all time 4. Unfrosted-An absolutely bizarre directorial debut from Jerry Seinfeld that’s painfully unfunny in its humor and puzzling when it comes to which target audience it’s aiming for other than Seinfeld himself 3. Madame Web-An uninspired at best, unacceptable at worst entry to the comic book movie genre that’s entertainment value exclusively comes from you as the viewer ripping apart every piece of the filmmaking and storytelling processes from beginning to end 2. Megamind vs. the Doom Syndicate-Even as someone who’s not a massive fan of the first Megamind, this straight to Peacock trash is lacking effort of any kind because Dreamworks’ television department saw a bit of content to squeeze out of a fourteen year old movie, which is incredibly cynical any way you spin it 1. Afraid-A Blumhouse “horror” movie that’s built around a family facing the dangers of artificial intelligence, all while having a script feeling like it’s written entirely by AI, thus not only lacking spark of life, but actively contradicting what it’s all about to deliver my pick for the worst movie of 2024

My picks for the worst films of the year gotta be: 10. The Union 1.5/10, average spy thriller with nothing new to offer. 9. Lift 1.5/10, generic, boring, lazy and not fun in any way. 8. Under Paris 1.5/10, generic shark movie. The real question for me is what I found worse, this or Meg. 7. Rebel Moon Part Two 1.5/10, I don’t usually like Snyder’s films, but he’s reaching new lows with his big budget Star Wars knockoff music videos. 6. Borderlands 1/10, flawed in every aspect. It just feels like a Guardians of The Galaxy ripoff too, without any of what makes those movies good. 5. Atlas 1/10, generic and dull. Just watch Pacific Rim, Evangelion, Gurren Lagann, literally any good mecha over this, please. 4. Madame Web 1/10, No heart, no soul, but corporate fingerprints all over. 3. Woody Woodpecker Goes To Camp 1/10, the CGI was some of the most laughably bad I’ve seen all year. 2. Saving Bikini Bottom 1/10, I didn’t think it was possible for SpongeBob to stoop this low, but this literally hits Rock Bottom. 1. Megamind vs. The Doom Syndicate 1/10, unforgivable. It takes away from a great animated film and is content generated for content sake. Dishonorable mentions: Hellboy: The Crooked Man, Damsel, Sasquatch Sunset, The Crow, Trap, Red One

To me Kraven was a very fun stand alone movie that feels like a throwback 80’s action movie. Madame Web on the other hand felt like an advertisement for Spiderman but without Spiderman but beats you over the head with the non stop Spiderman references. Personally I think a lot of people will like Kraven if they give it a chance.

In my honest view, having Venom The Last Dance grouped with Madame Web and Kraven the Hunter feels very much like guilt by association. It has its enjoyable moments and the duo of Eddie and Venom is always a treat to watch. It wasn't great by any means but I could easily watch it a handful of times. A new Malayalam language Indian movie have been released the past week called 'MARCO'. It's definitely the most violent Indian film ever... Way too brutal and violent than 'Animal' or 'Kill'. It's strictly not for the weak-hearted. Yet, the action choreography, action set pieces, total direction of photography and the whole making quality is exceptional. Especially while considering its minimal budget. It's a really engaging bloody action film. Consider watching it in your nearby cinemas... 🔥🤌

27:16 I disagree on venom the last dance at least it had a decent story with good action scenes with the symbiotes at the end and a beautiful send off to Eddie Brock and venom in the film at least the film knows that it's stupid and over the top that I can accept. Love your lists as usual mate. Saw a bunch of slop this year but three really stuck out 1 ugliest - it looks and feels like a fake film Netflix needs to be stopped 2 megamind: the doom syndicate - genuinely what the fuck were they thinking. Assassinated the entire character growth from the original 3 borderlands- horribly miscast and boring

Asylum does make a terrible product. However it's absolutely invaluable experience for young filmmakers to work on a actual movie set, especially for sound, dlt's, clappers....these jobs are functionally the same on all movie sets regardless whether it's Asylum or Marvel.

Despite watching 71 films from this year, I successfully managed to avoid all of these except Unfrosted and Madame Web, which are respectively my worst and second worst. If Unfrosted made me laugh once, maybe it would have been higher than the disaster that was Madame Web 😅

I actually like some parts of Rebel Moon (namely Ed Skrein), but I agree that it was disappointing. I'm hoping Snyder gets back on track with his LAPD film. I think it will be a nice refresher from all the vfx and alternate cuts and whatnot.

The only movie that I absolutely hated this year was Civil War. I give it the WTF did I just watch? Award. Why and how did America end up in another Civil War? Why are Texas and California the only states that seceded and joined forces? The only little bit of backstory that we got was that at some point in time, the president disbanded the FBI.
