“What’s a bad miracle?”
Oscar® winner Jordan Peele disrupted and redefined modern horror with Get Out and then Us. Now, he reimagines the summer movie with a new pop nightmare: the expansive horror epic, Nope.
The film reunites Peele with Oscar® winner Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out, Judas and the Black Messiah), who is joined by Keke Palmer (Hustlers, Alice) and Oscar® nominee Steven Yeun (Minari, Okja) as residents in a lonely gulch of inland California who bear witness to an uncanny and chilling discovery.
Nope, which co-stars Michael Wincott (Hitchcock, Westworld) and Brandon Perea (The OA, American Insurrection), is written and directed by Jordan Peele and is produced by Ian Cooper (Us, Candyman) and Jordan Peele for Monkeypaw Productions. The film will be released by Universal Pictures worldwide.

This was one of my favorite performances of Palmer as a grown-up actor. She was spicy and captivating in every scene. At first, since I've seen Kaluuya in other movies, it felt like he was just slumming it. He a modern day Hitchcock, which means he's superlative at suspense and overall technique. And he builds on what came before to give us new, powerful films. He wears it on his sleeve, too, giving homage to his predecessors. That shot is the house looks very similar to Bates' home in psycho. A real student of film. What's not to love? Horror and comedy actually have a thing or two in common(not that this diminishes his genius for storytelling) they both deal with a subversion of expectations. The same subversion, for example a man getting hit by a car, can be horrifying in one context and hilarious in another. The movie wasn't bad at all. Even disregarding the slow beginning there was tons of good shit about it. Camera shots were cool, nice sound design, and the design for the alien was fucking awesome. It's a movie about people trying to film a UFO at a surface level, there's obviously not going to be explosions and car crashes and action every 20 seconds. It’s always nice to see a trailer for a movie and it not spoil the entire plot or best scenes. That very rarely happens. Looks great! Can’t wait!

I wonder if Peele has a hand it making his trailer. Because I agree with you. This trailer gave enough to peak interest but not give away much. Which a lot of trailers seem to always do and I hate it.

How do you know this isn't the entire movie condensed and viewing it won't show more or have a plot bigger than just trying to avoid an alien abduction? I remember people got mad about Cloverfield....

@@malakioraka3987 that’s what we thought about the US trailer and was highly disappointed in the actual movie. I think he chose a more subtle approach with the trailer purposefully

@@malakioraka3987 now u got me hoping I'm right. 🤣🙈 I've seen every Key and Peele. I know he can do a wide variety. Chances of never letting people down is super slim. Every bit of that show wasn't gold. It had many 💩.

I never thought “Fingertips” would creep me out, Peele has done it again. Something about Stevie going “Say Yeah!” while people stare at something in horror is creepy. Each one of his movies makes a chill pop song (I’m counting Candyman because he wrote and produced) sound like a classic horror theme like The Exorcist or Halloween, he’s a fuckin genius.
