This video displays a technician rubs his hand along the bottom of the tank. I would NEVER recommend doing this, especially with older tanks. You could remove debris or jar something lose that was keeping the tank from leaking. Next thing you know oil is poring out of a pinhole and you OWN it.

Thanks for the informative video! Tank inspections are very important and you did a great job of going through the different steps of the procedure.
