Thank you for making this!!! The manufacturer of my camper put the cable retaining plate on the wrong side of the slide and now it has pulled loose from the back, your video just verified this! Thanks again :)

Mine failed yesterday. Luckily I was at home cleaning the coach. So now I have to go see if I can git r done. The only doubts I have is having the facing on the slide to make an adjustment. Otherwise this is one fine video that is much appreciated. If you can maybe you can address removing the facings....just in case. Otherwise I give this a 10....Thank You!!

This is a great video. One thing that might make it awesome would be an animation of how it works visually. Still, best video out there so far.

Put the smallest size of heat shrink tubing that’ll fit on the cable, works a little better than electrical tape.

I have this Accu Slide system on my Keystone trailer. Recently I’m experiencing an issue where the slide out slides out fine , but doesn’t slide in. After it begins to slide in for a few seconds I hear a loud clicking/banging sound. After manually pushing in the slide out I observed that the cables/chains have quite a bit of slack. From what I’ve researched so far, I should only have about an inch or less of slack correct?. Could it be then that this excess amount of slack I see is the cause of why the slide doesn’t slide in? In which case I would need to add some tension on the IN cables only? Or all.. I do notice excess slack on both.

The cables on the Accu-Slide need to be tensioned at 1/2" deflection. Our technical group can provide you with diagrams and written step-by-step instructions on what to do. The email address is baltechsupport@norcoind.com.

What is a radius? How do you access the lower pulleys if your slide does not extend completely? The lower pulleys where my problem lies is between my bunk beds and dinette wall. This space is about 6inches wide. My slide does not extend fully for me to access the lower pulleys.
@NorcoIndustries Жыл бұрын
The instructor in the video is referring to bending the cable end to curve it, in order to work it around the circular pulley. The cable has to be replaced with the room in the extended position before you cut the cable to length and crimp it or it will not be the right size. Feel free to email baltechsupport@norcoind.com for additional tips on the repair.

What does the slide "ride" on? Or, what holds the weight of the slide? is there a roller or something along the bottom? My problem is, there was some substantial moisture on the bottom plywood floor of my slide causing the layers of the plywood to delaminate. I have removed the black moisture barrier and dried it out. reattached the black fabric. looked fine until I ran the slide in and it seems to "scrape" the black fabric off in a few spots. I can't see past the wiper seals to see what is rubbing on the bottom.

Does the RV manufacture install the system on there slide rooms? Or does the system come pre installed on a slide room provided by your company?

This is a great video but getting to the pulleys and the cables when you have a complete rig is the hard part. This video is all about replacing cables on a stripped down rig. I am finding that pieces I have to remove to access the cables cannot be reattached and am having to buy a LOT of pieces to reassemble.
@BSpecUSA9 жыл бұрын
+B Spec EDIT.. After removing half the wall to get to the cables I found that mine has a huge metal frame that surrounds the cables. In order to remove it I would have to lift the slideroom up and remove the entire frame work that the slide slides out on all while suspending the slide in the air.. The frame work is all one piece top and bottom and side to side and it is the main frame work for the entire cable assembly. While I have the same cable pulley system as shown in this video, the main structure and mounting is totally different than what is here.

Don Hi I liked your video very informative,BUT you have a bare wall, tell me how to replace a broken cable on a slide on an upper living room, with furnature installed and with the slide half way in a person can not get in between slide and front cuboard. it is the upper front (IN) cable. I would like to see what pully if any are inside the hole coming throught the wall before it goes up to the top pullies. Thanks I did learn why my cable broke. We have a 2011 Keystone Montana with 5 slides sold our hoouse to buy the fifth wheel and have done nothing but spent money on fixing things broke, that Keystone or dealer will not fix. I wish it was as easy as your video,keep up the good work

HOW CRITICAL IS THE CABLE TENSION ADJUSTMENT? HOW DO YOU DETERMINE IF THE CORRECT CABLE TENSION IS APPLIED TO THE TOP & BOTTOM ON BOTH SIDES OF THE SLIDE? WHAT HAPPENS TO THE ACCU-SLIDE SYSTEM IF THERE'S TOO MUCH TENSION OR TOO LITTLE CABLE TENSION?
@derrickparker82179 жыл бұрын
tension is critical, not as tight as a piano wire but not so loose it droops...in other words cable should be straight with a bit of give when you "pluck" it. If not tight enough the corner it is attached too will not snug up when it is against the wall of the coach plus you want the corners to start to move at the same time when the motor is activated so the slide goes in or out evenly. Remember too tight is worse than too lose because that can stop the slides travel and possibly snap a cable.

Just a WAG (wild ass guess), but I would say the bottom out cables need a little more tension or the top out cables need a little less.

How come none of you 🐔🍭 show how to replace the cables if the slide is in ??????
@NorcoIndustries Жыл бұрын
The cable replacement procedure requires the room to be completely extended during the final stages of the cable replacement in order to ensure the cable is cut to the proper length. If the cable is replaced with the room in any other position, it will be too short.
