He’s not a genius. He’s a good player and understands the technology. But a genius? No. Genius is a word that is thrown around WAAAAAYYY too much for so many undeserving people that are simply clever and found their niche in a world full of lost people, most with no clue as to what their own purpose is. Mozart was a genius. Vangelis was a genius. This guy? No. A good and trendy player, but no genius.

@1:29 - the Nord sample editor is being used to play a sound from the Prophet 6 on the Nord Wave 2 - correct?
@bateimidrashnetwork4 жыл бұрын
Why do you assume the wave 2 can't produce a simple arcade synth sound...?
@stitchedmeup4 жыл бұрын
@@bateimidrashnetwork well - to be honest, it was indeed an assumption based on two things; 1 - he is using exactly the same sound in an earlier released video, playing the same tune on a Prophet 6 --> its published on his channel. 2. the sample editor is a great feature addition to the Nord and the Nord itself was being demoed during that time and stage. Very much later, as more videos came up I noticed the arcade sound is one of the patches in the Synth, but still feel free to correct if am wrong here.

@NZsaltz4 жыл бұрын
It's actually not in one key/scale, which is why it sounds so weird. It starts in Bb major, and then goes a half step down to B major. -P.S.: He's not using a scale, he's using a key. A scale is playing notes going straight up or down. A key is what a piece of music is in.- Edit: I don't know what I was thinking, he is using the scales to solo, and you don't have to go straight up or down a scale. Sorry about that.

@NZsaltz4 жыл бұрын
Yeah, you could do that with just two fingers. Unlike spread out chords, that has nothing to do with hand size. Just hand speed.
@SirBoopBoop4 жыл бұрын
@@NZsaltz Well it kinda does have something to do with hand size due to the amount of reach you have between your fingers. I realize now it's just a technical thing though that I need to practice. Thanks though.

Hi Nord, congrats on the great new product out. Having the NLA1 and NL4, Should I now consider Nord Wave 2 (NW2) as the successor of these products? Second is the A1 engine part of the NW2 Synthesizer and could I use the sound manager to also load sounds from my NLA1 and even the NL4 into the new NW2? Only thing left to add is the desire is to be able to interchange the beautiful Piano library from the Nord Stage series. Thanks.

What a lovely performance! But I must say that judging by this video and the previous demos of the wave 2, its sounds are unimpressive from the default presets I’ve heard. The stage 3 though is still something amazing. I know it is like comparing apples and oranges, but having 1Gig of sample playback, seriously? A cheap controller and kontakt 6 will do 10 times more. Though I love my Nord piano 4 and as a professional musician uses Nord all the time, I just wish they would bring out a product that would truly dazzle spec wise- they are continuously behind the other major companies - Having said that, their pianos are the best sounding after pianoteq 6 and personally their piano action is exquisite. Major companies are now only starting to realize that software intergration is a main part of live performance - Having audio thru usb to main outs or a separate audio for software instruments will become the norm. Their artists though are always a joy to watch :)!
@wesselvanrensburg85 жыл бұрын
Xrex O I’m not sure what you are talking about. Read my very first sentence. I was impressed with the performance - I’m just talking from a general working musician point of view (myself) One instrument cannot and is not presumed to cover all sonic spectrums. Software development has come so far that it would be great to have an instrument that allows you to expand your sound palette by adding software integration. Whether it is to add Kontakt or other interesting software, just will make it easier and more flexible. Even the performer had a laptop running - we all use it. A lot of times you get book for sessions covering certain songs where you know which software instruments were used. Instead of running a laptop with extra audio interface, it would be nice to expand your Nord by running software thru it and have more immediate control over it. Actually the Nord instrument library is quite mediocre - I heard the new strings release and that does sound quite nice but is miles below the quality and range of Spitfire or Vienna sample libraries.
