Nord Live Sessions: Rai Thistlethwayte - #1 Chase The Clouds feat. Morgan Ågren & Gustaf Hielm

We are thrilled to present the Rai Thistlethwayte Sessions including eight episodes of phenomenal performances ranging from funky soul to 80s pop vibes and jazz - all featuring the new Nord Grand! First out is a funky piece called "Chase The Clouds" with Morgan Ågren on drums and Gustaf Hielm on bass.
About Rai Thistlethwayte:
Rai is a one of Australia’s most respected musical talents: a highly accomplished pianist, guitarist, vocalist and songwriter. His band, Thirsty Merc, has sold over 250,000 albums in Australia, and has been nominated for 5 ARIA awards. Aside from his work in Rock and Pop, Rai performs as a solo artist, based around his love of Jazz, Soul, and Groove music. He has released 4 Solo EPs and has toured Australia and the U.S. since 2012. Some of his notable collaborations have been with ARIA award‐winning guitarist James Muller, Trumpeter James Morrison, and Grammy Nominated U.S. jazz bassist Christian McBride (Sting, Wynton Marsalis band). Currently based between Sydney and Los Angeles, Rai tours globally with U.S. Funk/Electronic band KNOWER and New York based guitarist Oz Noy. Thirsty Merc has just completed 72 shows for their ‘Summer 2019’ Tour and Rai is performing select solo shows in Australia to close out the year.

Fire. Wow, Wow, Wow. Everyone here is just ripping it. Wasn't expecting this at all. I've been on a kick here lately with The Fearless Flyers and stuff like that and I thought I knew about it all and then I go looking at keyboards and stage pianos and of course I have to lust after the Nord because they are top notch keyboards and all my favorite Keyboard players in town play one, and then I run across this. Duuuuuuude...that groove, chord selection, bass locked in....just dope yo! Absolutely loved it. The keys kept me guessing through most of the song, even when he borrowed a little ABC/123 progression, what my musical brain was expecting next, was shocked be the following chord or riff that he played. That was sweet art, my man. Every note selection, was not what I was expecting. I love that kind of music. Nice.

@@konstapelwalander I recently got a Nord Grand and also need to turn the panel lock on otherwise its pretty easy to change a program or turn on/off a section when playing.

@@konstapelwalander No it is no error message it says "Panel Locked" which means that the physical panel is locked and if he accidentally hits a button or something, it won't register that :)
