I love this recipe!!! I use my 13" Pullman pan without the top. Let it rise and bake. Perfection. And wonderfully delicious 💖💖 💖

Noreen, those two loaves of bread look so beautiful & so delicious!!!! It took me back to my kids years in school. I always made gifts for all of their teachers, the aides, bus drivers etc. And then of course I made them for our mailman or mail lady, friends, neighbors & family. What i always made was a quick bread called squash bread. It's very similar to pumpkin bread, but made with thawed frozen squash. I can't even begin to imagine how many i made over the years. I made mini loaves & had two baking pans, that were both essentially 4 mini loaves hooked together. The original recipe made 2 regular size loaves, so I would double my recipe & end up with 8 mini loaves at a time. Once I got one double batch in the oven, I would get all of my ingredients measured out for the next batch. My sons are now married with their own families, but I'm in big trouble if they don't get a few loaves at Christmastime! Your raisin bread looked so awesome, I'm going to give that a try. Thanks for a great recipe that is actually one of my favorite breads!

Hi, Noreen! Thank you so much for this recipe! I am newer to bread making and your videos have helped me immensely. I made this last night and I think I'm going to end up eating the whole loaf today! I left out the swirl (I am pretty lazy lol) and I did make one change. I see that people were asking about if they could use real milk instead of powdered milk. I didn't have powdered milk but I still wanted that moisture that the milk gives, so I actually did 1 cup warm water, 1/2 cup warm buttermilk, and then replaced the milk powder with 2 tbsp of flour. It worked awesome! I am so thrilled with this....thank you so much!

Noreen, I love watching your videos where you're making some kind of bread. You obviously really enjoy making these items, it really shines through in your presentation. I've made white bread from scratch & lots of quick breads, but after watching this, I'd really like to try making raisin cinnamon swirl. I swear I could smell it. I felt like I was right there in your kitchen with you! Keep on what you're doing, I truly enjoy your videos, as you are without a doubt a marvelous cook. HI Noreen, I made this and the sandwich bread for my family last week. They loved it! So much that I'm making them again this week for my family and some friends. I did have one substitute. I didn't have powdered milk so I added 3 tbsp of evaporated can milk as a substitute. Thank you so much.

Noreen, I made this last week and it was perfect. Today I tried a different version, I used dried cranberries (instead of raisins) and orange extract (instead of vanilla). So far, so good it's on its first rise & smells fantastic! I got a 6qt bowl lift Kitchenaid for Christmas and have been giving it a workout ever since. If this loaf turns out like I think it will, I will be giving loaves of it during the holidays next year! Thanks again for all of your recipes & hard work, it's greatly appreciated.

Noreen, I really enjoy your videos. AND when I saw you were in New Bern, this made my viewing even more interesting. I live in Richlands and love to make bread. In fact, I have a small in-home jam, jelly, bread store...Prissy's Homemade Goods. I often make some of my goods and post on facebook for a 'give-away'. This time it will be a loaf of wheat bread which I have already made and a loaf of cinnamon raisin bread. My followers really enjoy the 'treat'. Thank you for the simplicity of your craft. ☺

Tuesday May 19, 20 20 Noreen... when I needed a really good “Swirly Bread” recipe for my grandson’s 14th birthday, I knew where to go! A couple of weeks ago, I baked the regular loaf, after Heather reminded me of it, so I figured you used it as a base for your Cinnamon Raisin BreAd. I will be baking it sans the raisins, because Andrew likes it that way, I usually use the JKa recipe, but I know this will be much better, I think the regular loaf is the absolute best white bread recipe anywhere. It’s soooo soft and squishy...like good yarn... Thanks ! Sandy from Cincinnati It’s a big recipe, so I bake it in one of my big Paula Deen’s beautiful ceramic loaf pans...gifted to me by my daughter. It’s a perfect fit...

Hi Noreen, I'm a new subscriber, and I must say I enjoy watching your videos, and recipes on your channel. You are a great teacher for new ones in the kitchen, and also ones like me who have been cooking for many, many years. You even answer questions regarding how, and why one should follow certain procedures if a dish is to be cooked properly, and tastes great! Not only that, but the everyday questions I've often thought about, but never thought to ask. Thanks for great ideas to make when entertaining, or giving as gifts to my family members. Hi Noreen, I’m brand new to your channel and this recipe popped up in You Tube. I can’t wait to try this, I’ve been doing all wrong and rolled up the raisins with the sugar cinnamon mixture. I'm gonna try it today. I too had issue with it unraveling in the past. I think it's a great idea that u incorporate the raisins into the dough. I read that spraying the dough with water instead of using butter will help the dough to adhere to each other. Gonna try that. Will let u know how that turns out.

Thanks for the recipe! I made some cinnamon raisin bread today from my mom's old betty crocker cookbook. It's very similar, but I think the vanilla powder in the dough would be amazing next time! Once I break down and get some milk powder I'll try your version.

Noreen, the bread looks amazing! My kiddos are not fond of raisins, but I bet they would eat this toasted with butter! I, myself love cinnamon raisin bread but the store bought type is so dried out whereas this looks so moist. Thanks for another great holiday gift idea. :D

Hi Noreen! Thanks for the recipe, I love it! I want to make it but with a cinnamon crusted top. I think aJust wondered how you thought it is done. All I would need to do is sprinkle cinnamon and sugar on the top before baking, right? I loved the cinnamon top on the cinnamon raisin bread my elderly neighbor used to make…but I never asked her exactly how it was done.

That's how I do mine - it's amazing. I'm making this recipe tonight, and putting that topping on it. All you do is brush the top with a little milk, and sprinkle on a light coating of cinnamon sugar over the top and bake. (You don't have to put a lot of the cinnamon sugar - you don't want a big hard candy crust on it. Or, maybe you you! lol But really, you don't - it might burn, and that would just ruin everything.)

I really like your videos and your personality, Noreen, and am anxious to try your recipes. Don't get the need for dry milk and have none but think I can substitute liquid milk.

You cannot substitute liquid milk. It does not work that way. The powdered milk is there for a reason. It is a dough amendment. The lactic acid in the powdered milk makes the dough tender and helps keep the bread moist without adding too much water. I promise you if you try to add liquid milk instead of actually following the recipe you will be disappointed. If you don’t have the proper ingredients you should wait until you can procure them. Of course you can simply leave the powdered milk out but it will also not give you a positive end result.

With the other problems you have told me about, I suggest you have your oven calibrated. Sounds like you have a thermostat problem.

Noreen what would happen if i mixed my raisins in while the dough is not mixed than let the mixer do all the work. not put raisins in after dough is mixed. does this make sense........lol whats ur advice.....ty n im so making this ither way. thanks 4 sharing this. have a good evening .

Also any tips on storage of breads? We are empty-nested and our bread sometimes molds before we finish eating the loaf.

How about baking 2 small loaves rather than 1 (reg.) large loaf, then freezing 1 of the loaves? I think since you're freezing a whole loaf, rather than a halved one, the loaf won't dry out. If that's still too much, how about making (hamburger) buns? Bread is bread, right? Good luck!

You can just use my honey wheat loaf recipe and make it like the raisin bread in this video. I don't do 100% whole wheat because the loaf will turn out like a brick. bit.ly/2rK2fNU

Oh Ms. Noreen, I have had the hardest time with bread. You make it look so easy and fun, I just.... I don’t know what I’m doing wrong. I tried this recipe and I did exactly as you did until it got going in the mixer, I added flour because it looked super sticky for sooooo long. So, too much flour I believe, then second rise didn’t appear to do much, baked anyway... very dense heavy not a lot of flavor... I just cried.

Can you freeze these for later, if so do you cut the slices before or after you freeze?

You cannot freeze the unbaked dough. You can freeze the baked bread. Cooled and tightly wrapped in plastic it will stay freas for up to three months.

Using bread flour will render a much tougher dough. You can of course use it, but it will not be as light and fluffy and may be flat out tough.

that is exactly what I do. I put the raisins in with the dough. however,my raisin breads are not rising. what am I doing wrong

Can you sub coffee creamer powder for the milk powder. How would chopped nuts effect this recipe? Thanks.... Merry Christmas

Unfortunately creamer won't work here. Milk powder is needed. Creamer has a number of unnecessary ingredients that my inhibit the yeast from rising. I don't think that nuts would be good in this but that is a personal preference. Remember, the more you add to a rising dough the more problems you are going to have with it rising properly and causing air bubbles and holes in the finished loaf.

For this kind of recipe, I would suggest using whole nuts 1timby Gently place them on your forehead, smile, and take a selfie..once you have finished this process, you may upload to facebook/twitter/instagram Glad I could help..cheers mate

You can. But leaving out the milk powder will make the bread tougher and not last as long.
