I’ve got a similar setup with a motorcycle hitch carrier. You will get better ground clearance if you cut those rear strap attachment bars off and weld them back on at a slight upward angle.

Hi Sterling & Eva, Hope all of your adventures bring peace and tranquility to you both. The setup you have is just right, not too big or too small and those sunsets are priceless. Nice small gas fireplace you have there, why after toting around the big round fire pit I have I realize I need to make a change! Smaller can be better. Cheers. Love the videos

Thanks for the ride on Schnebly, I miss that area. My wife’s grandparents bought 2 lots along Oak Creek in 1958. They build a house in 1961 and moved there full time. Upon their passing in 1987/88, my FIL and MIL moved into the house and lived there until he passed in 2015. My wife and I lived with them during 2013-15. I had a couple 125cc powered Honda CT70’s and rode Schnebly and all the other Forest Service roads weekly. My brother in law and wife now live in Sedona home. If you’re looking for another adventure, enter off Beaverhead Flat Road and ride to the top of House Mountain, between Sedona and Cottonwood.

Just found your channel a few months back and subscribed. You have a great attitude on life. I had a 5 speed Grom and though I liked it the tires were just too small for off road. So I ordered a CT. Anyway after a year of waiting (still no CT) I bought a low mileage excellent condition Yamaha XT250. FI model. No regrets. I’m 68 so the big heavy off road bikes are a no go for me. Plus with a 30 inch inseam, low seat height at my age is crucial. I’d love to ride your area but living north of Maine in Canada you are more than a little ways across the continent lol. Thank you for your content.

Is the bike carrier new? I'm thinking about one for the back of my lifted Toyota Hiace Van. The carriers all seem kinda sketchy, I was thinking maybe add 2 more bars that would bolt to the vans hitch and extend out to the carrier at each end if that makes sense? Especially for off roading with the bike on the back. Gonna have to check out Schnebly rd looks pretty cool. Cheers.

Curious that you do 10 times more offroading with a 125 than those who are riding 1250’s. And probably for good reason. Less intimidating. Less complicated. No worries about picking it up. Less likely to drop it. Simple simple - one cylinder and a carburetor. Less fatigue, both physical and mental. Drop it 10 times - no damage versus dropping a1250 and $$$$. The 125 costs the same as the first years’ depreciation on a 1250. Focus on the ride, and not the show off bike. Nicely done.

I don’t get the tent on a roof fad. It seems like a lot more effort and cost than a tent on the ground. What if you have to pee often at night and need to negotiate the ladder? What if you set up the roof tent then want to drive somewhere - you’re stuck. People must like them though, otherwise they wouldn’t be popular.
@SterlingNoren
@SterlingNoren 2 ай бұрын
Well, I have all of this amazing roof rack space and I really enjoy sitting up on the roof sometimes. That little bit of elevation allows you to see a lot more and it just feels really nice so I thought I would try sleeping up there.

I know butler is your sponsor, and also a super nice guy, but it seems a bit of a miss to imply one could follow one of these maps in the outback, they are a great reference point, fantastic for getting an idea of where to go and what you might see, but they are missing far too much detail to actually follow for navigation. It's just not that type of map. I think these maps are an inspiration point that helps focus people's plans for an area or bdr trip. But it's also good to message that you need to plan your actual route on a detailed map or GPS to know where each turn is and see the other trails and roads that are not printed on the butler map. Great video, looks like a fun place!
@SterlingNoren

Not at all :-) the roads on their adventure series map are main roads with no questionable turns. The BDR maps on the other hand are strictly for reference, I agree.
