Hi Reg! The standard stock is lovely on these too, I originally wanted both so we could do a side by side comparison but we couldn't get a hold of one unfortunately. They're a lovely rifle though and I find the Norica barrel to be incredibly accurate once you find the pellet it likes. Have you tried a Storm yet Reg? I loved the Hawk but that might just be my favourite Norica. Thanks Reg and hopefully our next video should be uploaded very soon so I'll see you very soon.

Hi Weihrauch! I've had my suspicions whether some of Norica's gear might be sourced from Asia however this isn't like anything I've seen from SMK. The barrel is much longer than a 19 and the breech is also totally different. I do think that the Thor looks very XS15'ish though.. not that there's anything wrong with that as the little XS15 is a cracker of a junior gun.

@@bigdansairguns83 Thanks Dan! Big fan of HW, but the underlever 'guillotine' type method may need a redesign-so this really peaked my curiosity. Hi Dan, good to have you back big fella, another cracking and in-depth review, which gives me a bit of a quandary, I was looking for a break barrel springer, this one looks great , but gas ram , got the Gamo Maxim Elite, it’s evil, it’s wrecked 3 scopes already, not had 300 pellets through it yet, so now it’s decision time, hmmm.
@bigdansairguns834 жыл бұрын
Hi Lynden. That Gamo needs an exorcist I think mate as there's something demonic on the go there. It is a gas ram but it's a very smooth one to shoot. Simply for the fact that it hasn't murdered any scopes I'd wager it'd be smoother than the Gamo at the very least! If you want to stick to budget rifles I highly recommend the Remington Express or Sabre, that being said we're currently reviewing the SMK XS208 and that's a beauty to shoot. Very old school feeling too. The Hatsan 60 is a cracking rifle as well. Don't forget the Remington Pest Controller/XS19 too. I'm making the situation worse aren't I?

Hey Phillip! It's good to be back. The trigger was an acquired taste to begin with. Hi Dan I'm back again ! , just had chance to actually Watch the revue (I saw the notification and got straight on it , I always click the like button before I view the episode and was Totally compelled ! to make My previous comment - which still stands as stated) . Your absolutely right this is a beautiful looking rifle ( proper Gun Porn ! stuff ) and almost sells itself on its looks alone , Accuracy ?, I think I saw at least 5 of the 6 shot group hit the target , but boy those nettles waving in the wind really show how rough it was , so the with the wind & lightweight .177 pellets a bit of deviation is nothing to be surprised about . As for the safety not always engaging , that reminds Me of its namesake Webley predecessor which suffers a similar affliction , a good full pull to a full and positive stop cures the Webley of this bad habit, or at least it does on both the examples I've owned . It's not HW90 heavy ,so this is definitely one that's on My list of rifles to try and get My mitts on . As for not liking being rested , I've never shot a springer or gas ram that did , though I am surprised that it didn't it didn't like the artillery hold . Gas Rams are OK and have a "soul" that's absent on the few PCP's I've tried , but I'm looking forward to the proper springer revues You have lined up ( Old school !) . Thanks for putting up with the conditions , Stay Safe & Stay Well !
@bigdansairguns834 жыл бұрын
Hello again Richard! It was rough mate, seriously rough but believe it or not it was the best day that we'd had so I had to pounce on it. That's why I'm glad that the aircraft flew over as you could see it skidding in the wind. With that group I really wanted that to be 4 shots in the bull but I thought I'd leave it to you guys to judge for yourselves as it was impossible to tell on my end. There was also no way in hell that I was re-filming it in those conditions as lets be fair I think I was lucky enough to get that result with the flyers! For me the rifle seemed to flick with the artillery hold which I didn't expect. It was one of the only rifle's I'd ever shot that wanted to be held firmly or to use my own silly hold tightness score 5 up front and 7 in the rear... ...that sounds a bit like a euphemism doesn't it?
@richarddixon72764 жыл бұрын
@@bigdansairguns83 5/7 Phnrr phnrr , Funny , but I do know what You mean !. I can't say I blame You for not wanting to keep filming , it would probably have been a pointless waste of time (but still fun !) given the conditions . I live on the Northwest Coast and conditions have not been good for shooting outside (except for when I'm at work - or so it feels ) I can honestly say I've only had My rifles out twice since the start of lock down (Shame on Me !) but I have been using My air pistols indoors when the Mrs goes to work and I'm on the night shift and I'm definitely getting better with the HW40 and the CZ P 09 Co2 repeater . It's really very frustrating , the campus I work on has large areas of green space ,trees & woods etc. and it's really rather beautiful despite being sandwiched between a major A Road & a Motorway , there has always a good population of Rabbits , Grey Squirrels , Magpies , Crows , Seagulls etc , along with the odd Fox or two and even occasionally several Fallow Deer with their fawn's .But during the lock down their numbers have soared , not so much the deer ,but the rabbits and greys have gone crazy . Sadly the Campus has a strict NO GUNS policy so I can't take advantage it , i certainly need to use my rifles more and regain the accuracy & skills that are getting rusty . Cheers Dan keep up the good work (circumstances allowing) and Stay Safe & Stay Well .

This model is just a disguised "Spider GRS" - the sights, the trigger and the complete "machinery" is the same - everything except the stock. That is not to say it isn't a good gun - I own the Spider (7 Joules version) and I am very pleased with it.
@richardstandish20532 жыл бұрын
Beg your pardon...but you have stated that it is 'definitely a Full Power' gun whereas it is running ONLY at 780'ish FPS for a .177cal. When Norica advertise Full power they are offering 900+ FPS in .177cal. (24 Joules). Granted you're in the UK so the airgun rifle you're nicely reviewing is 'de-tuned' to accomodate your country's legal limit for an airgun of 'under 12 FPE' . I would assume that a Full Power would fall into the FAC category producing in the 18-20 FPE levels according to Norica Airguns specification for a Norica Hawk (Elegance ??) . Consequently you are experiencing a lower level of Nw force from the Gas Ram while cocking as well as while shooting with less 'felt recoil'. Nice airgun for sure. Your review of the Norica Storm was influencial in my decision to buy a Storm in .22cal...Full Power of course. Have experienced a 3lbs trigger out of the box with no creep and clean break after First stage take-up. For those interested (and sceptical of plastic ie Polymer trigger blades) there is an 'aftermarket' metal trigger that is available for the Norica NATS trigger block.
@bigdansairguns832 жыл бұрын
Hi Richard! Thanks for the comment. In the UK as you say we have different laws compared to the rest of the world and for us high 10-11ft-lbs is considered "full power". In our later videos we have "UK Spec" in the title to hopefully clear up any confusion. I'm glad you liked the video and you're enjoying your Norica they're a genuinely underrated rifle brand. The metal trigger would be a necessity I think and would really help to improve the feel of these rifles. They're not a particularly cheap rifle in the UK and they really need that metal blade. Thanks Richard and all the best!

Although it's not as calm as some of the higher end springers on the market as mentioned I'd gladly put it up against some of the lighter springers on the market when it comes to kick. The main niggle for me when it comes to accuracy was the odd feeling trigger before I got used to it.
