Thanks, super challenging to learn by ear but a total blast! I suspect they are in a different tuning that makes it easier to play, but I was set up for this drop tuning so just went with it!

It'd probably take me at least 3-5 hours and I don't think you'd like my hourly rate!! I could probably hook you up with a detailed how-to-play tutorial vid if you'd prefer? I kind of want to re-learn this song as I think it'd be easier to play tuned as octaves on the low two strings

@@claysnow7961 It's a pretty complex song where a lot repeats but with subtle changes throughout, I could maybe bang it out for around $100 but even that would barely make it worth my time. I love this song so I'd be stoked just to learn it again, I'll try and hook you up with a note by note tutorial vid in the next couple weeks

Amazing job! What string gauge do you use for drop g# on a Gibson scale?

Many thanks!! For this vid I'm using 10s to tune in Drop D, then using the Helix PolyCapo to drop the rest of the way. Feels like cheating, but let's me keep string tension without changing hardware!

@@daveskreczko No stress! Without a PolyCapo you'd definitely have to go thick on the gauge! I suspect they actually tune half step down, then drop the bottom string to full octave down G#

@@thedankriffs oh yes, I used to play in a band using drop A on a 6 string 25.5" scale, 12-66/68 gauge for good tension. NJ seems to be using drop B with low G# quite a lot these days (so 3 step down as in C# tuning but with low G#), but it's just a guess too.

@@daveskreczko Yea the shapes I had to play for this song in Drop G# tuning were a bit awkward, so after I was done I wondered if maybe G#G#C#F#A#F# (mastodon style tuning) would've been better. Never revisited it though, so not sure!
