This performance was riddled with tension and frustration since Josh had just announced that he was quitting the band, shocking the other members. Even the delivery of some of his vocals are completely phoned in and unenthusiastic. He was like “meh I’m quitting anyway” lol. Everything just felt miscast with this band.

Yeah most heavy vocalists don't sound great when it's unfiltered audio captured right from the soundboard. I remember I saw oh sleeper live many years ago and Micah sounded amazing. They had live streamed the concert on Facebook and when I went to rewatch it it was audio directly from the soundboard and it sounded God awful
@SpladoinkalАй бұрын
@@FIDEL_CASHFLOW_ Heavy vocalist here. The air pressure comes from breathing with the diaphragm. It takes pressure off the vocal chords that way. On the road many heavy vocalists are using barely enough air to distort the vocal chords to preserve them for the whole tour. Sometimes you "Misfire" when you do that by not putting enough air (or at the end of the tour they're genuinely tired enough that they aren't able to sound good).

@@Bluuuu222 We toured with Norma Jean for 9 weeks (late July-September) back in 2002, right when BTMAKTC was released and those guys didn’t party like that at all. They were just spastic on stage, as the video shows. They didn’t care if they played, sang or screamed in tune and the kids that came to our shows didn’t seem to care either. I can’t/won’t see Norma Jean live anymore. No original members left and the last time I saw them it felt more like a cover band rather than Norma Jean.
