Ah yes natilus the song which kills me everytime I listen to Yorushika. The green liquid that Amy drank to kill himself is actually emerald green also known as paris green which is a artifical poison( mentioned in Amy's letters to Elma) N buna himself said that he would not provide the right answer to Amy and Elma's story as he made it have incomplete parts for the audience to fill it up themselves. ( its like telling the audience to tell the story themselves) N buna also mentioned in an interview that the title nautilus is not referencing the animal but the submarine from the book 20,000 leagues under the sea that's why there is a submarine in the mv. The mv director said that the mv represents Elma's awakening to music. In Yorushika's live last year, n buna puts some extra infomation of the story. When Amy was about to drink the poison to kill himself, he actually thought: I want to reincarnate in a world with Elma( the tears I shed when I read it from those who went to the live concert can fill up the pacific ocean) Flashing text in the mv: 4:21 I was thinking of my life's expiration date. ( referencing letter 5/6) 4:23 This year this whole year is my life( referencing letter 8/8) 4:27 That's why I gave up on music( letter 8/25 that's why I gave up on music) 4:48 this emerald green dye 5:00 is an artifical poison 5:04-5:06 Elma it's you, you alone are my music.( letter 3/21 deep indigo) 5:33 Lift your head at the speed of the farewell Someday dawn will finally break 5:35 Come on, try and open your eyes Because I’ve pictured your sleepy eyes so many times( nautilus) * suis mentioned on Yorushika's instragram that Nautilus was the song that started Amy and Elma's story. Nautilus was initally written by n buna 4 years ago (before forming yorushika) for his vocaloid works but he couldn't think of what to write for the lyrics. ** in the lyrics, one line "the summer grass is getting in my way" is actually the title of Yorushika's first mini album...could it mean that all of Yorushika's first 4 albums are actually connected? *** this is my own theory: in Elma's diary, she saw Amy's shadow in the stag deer. For me I feel that the stag deer is actually Amy reincarnated( in Yorushika's 2nd album, loser/ underdog doesn't need an encore, the album cover has the eye of a stag deer.) The albums "the summer is getting in my way" and "loser doesn't need a encore" is also written in way where all songs form a circle. For example in "the summer grass is getting in my way" there is an instrumental named flight. While in "loser doesn't need an encore" there is an instrumental named falling. In "loser doesn't need an encore", there is also a story titled reincarnation. My interpretation is that reincarnated Amy led Elma to the place where he committed suicide but it just my theory. Its up to you guys to interpret the story however you like :)

This one leaves me with a broken heart,even though Amy was only a fictional character,may still his soul rest in peace.. This was enough to make a grown up man cry

They should make a slice of life anime out of N Buna's written story within this album, that'll be both equally beautiful and depressing as hell at the same time.

I can't stop my tears coming out always hearing this song. ;) This song has some references of other songs as always. For example, [4:25] 夏草が邪魔をする Natsukusa ga jyama wo suru The summer grass is getting in my way => Yorushika's first mini album title is exactly same, 「夏草が邪魔をする」. Parts of songs you reacted (「言って」, 「靴の花火」, 「雲と幽霊」) are in this album. => And the MV shows the handwriting 「だから僕は音楽を辞めた(That's why I gave up on music)」, title of Song and Album 「だから僕は音楽を辞めた」 as you know. I love how Yorushika keeps referencing other songs and albums in every single songs, to make a whole big story about Elma and Amy.

Btw... the name of this song, Nautilus is written as No-chirasu (ノーチラス) . You can see Amy writes the name on top of lyrics. He writes one letter チ in a particular way so it look like number 4. If you read it as "4", title would then be "No-shirasu". If you read that backwards, it's "Sura shinou" which would literally translate to "Let's die then" So it you read the way this song is named backwards, it's "Let's die then" which is damn sad. Also, while this song is in Elma's album, it was written by Amy. This is his last song, Elma finds the lyrics on the pier. The misunderstanding you seem to have, but maybe already cleared up, is that Amy did not die to his illness. He commited suicide before it. He drank emerald dye, which is artificial poison and died on the pier. You should also react to Deep Indigo. Together with That's Why I Gave up on Music, it tells the best about Amy's situation. It's song from his PoV.

Can't wait for you to react to all Yorushika songs, but will you also react to n-buna's Vocaloid songs? 始発とカフカ and 夜明けと蛍 are awesome! Lyrics of 夜明けと蛍 may be difficult to shallow, but 始発とカフカ with its music video is just an amazing (and shocking) journey!
