Sir, in this system, the toughness of exam in 2 shifts should be comparable, otherwise it is not giving justice to students, Lets imagine a case, here shift 1 was comparatively easier & shift 2 was tougher, 2 moderately prepared students, the level of preparedness is almost same, followed same coaching class etc, one attended in morning shift & one in evening, the morning shifts student who is moderately prepared can easily score a higher score than poorly prepared candidate in their shift, while in evening shift, since it was more tougher, it will be tougher for the moderately prepared student, making it difficult to score a significantly higher marks than poorly prepared students in their shift, affecting their percentiles & affecting their rank, then how can it do justice

Both shifts had equall number of students. Your percentile will be calculated on the basis of particular shift. Since second shift paper was tough. A candidate scoring 570 marks in second shift and 590 marks in first shift will have equal percentile. Hence close rank

Role of difficulty is that , the difficult paper students will have higher percentile at a lower score. That is , percentile of 80% is score of 500 in one paper, and same percentile in other shift has either 460-470. They will acquire the same rank more or less. So yes it does matter. Tougher paper has different spread of marks in different areas of bunching. Bunching is more on top in tough paper and more in middle in easy paper. So that will either push ranks down or up in normalised list.

This system will create problems in state medical counselling. In UP there is a addition of 10-30% of 'marks' based of years of sevice in a PHC. Because of this, I think now there will be petition and further delay in the whole process.

The rules of tie breaking are NOT mentioned. Nbe just said it will be done as per aiims guidelines & aiims guidelines say : The priority of tie breaking will be in order of Percentile-Subjectwise-Age. & their guidelines also say that if Subjectwise is not already mentioned in the information prospectus, then simply Percentile-AGE. So neetpg24 ranks will be based on age ,if percentiles are equal, since nbe didnt mention any specific subjectwise distribution prior.

Everything is subjective...no objective criteria...both sessions have different questions paper...a question may be genuinely difficult or a student is who has studied less will feel normal or simple question as tough...no transparency..even we dont get downloaded paper of neet pg..its based on memory... most of exams have thier question downloaded on their website or get to take away question paper... Its is possible to conduct approx 2 lakh neet pg aspirants in single shift exam... If easier ways are available to give marks why to opt for such complexs ways.....in which no one can understand ( no definite objective criteria) Exams marks and ranks are deliberately made to calculate in complex ways...to have space for corruption,money etc etc... Both sessions of students will say evining was difficult and morning was same and vice versa...to gain the benefit percentiles and normalisation. Question is if there is easier way to give marks and rank by conducting exam in one session why to choose such a complex way of normalisation..???!!!!

As far as I know, percentile means the percentage of people below you and it does not include you. So 100th percentile should not be possible. I may be wrong, please correct if it is so
