Wow I've never seen one of those before! I was somewhat surprised that they did not seem to be overly trebly which I normally expect from a single coil. I had a friend with a Melody Maker but that was more than 40 years ago and I don't really remember much about how it sounded. Getting to see crazy new stuff like this is why I love guitar of the day!

I had the great privilege of purchasing one of these rare gems. Cherry finish, double-switches, embossed pickups. Tuners were swapped but I still have the originals. It is also missing the bridge cover like several I've seen listed online. It's a fun guitar to play for certain types of music. However, it is not suitable for high-gain applications. The single coils lose their luster and become scratchy and obnoxious like a swarm of bees just awoke inside the guitar. As you heard in the video it has nice tone for several applications. Amazing guitar. Looks like the owner also swapped the bridge out along with the switches. Thanks for the video everyone. The ES-320 is truly a rare piece of Gibson history.

That guitar has to be totally rare. It has the hardware of the SG 100, 200, and 250. I bought a 250 in 1972. It was my first Gibson electric. I've had 2 or 3 SG 250 since. I tend to buy guitars, restore them, and sell them for a loss.

In my humble opinion, single-coils always sound fantastic on a hollowbody. Best of two worlds - biting & glassy tone and smooth feel of a medium scale. I would definitely love to have this one. Oh, and the "Gibson" logo looks great on a light-coloured headstock, btw:)

Here's an idea: do the shout-outs at the END of the video. That way I (and many others) can watch the good stuff and opt-out from hearing about the third anniversary of Aunt Tilly's second goiter operation and how much she'd love to hear a Huber banjo in celebration. Please. Stop. Love the 320 though.

Ken H just a little FYI you know KZbin gives you the option to skip through the parts of the video you don’t want to watch right? If you don’t like the shoutouts just skip through them cause you definitely don’t have to watch them

I don’t give a shit about some random stranger’s birthday, but I’m pretty neutral as long as he keeps it to himself. I can’t imagine what kind of a desperate moron you’d have to be to want someone to read your name in a KZbin video. It’s one of saddest, most pathetic things I’ve ever seen.

So how many of you who watch this series religiously know that Mark is not just a Vintage Guitar Enthusiast and a great player but he also writes his own songs and sings? If you ever get jealous of mark and wish you could trade places with him and his life and his job. Keep in mind he basically had to give up all of the potential he could have had as an artist and songwriter and performer to get where he is at in his life right now. He even recorded a whole album of his songs, spent a good chunk of money on it but decided not to release it pretty recently. At that point he realized he couldn’t squeeze in being a songwriter and artist and performer and also be a Dad and store manager of a guitar store at the same time he had to give up three of those things just to do what he is doing right now
