Normani sits down with Ebro in the studio to discuss her long-awaited debut solo studio album, Dopamine.
She shared why the album's release was postponed, pointing to significant challenges in her personal life that delayed her work. She also shares that taking her time was important because of how much her music means to her. Normani also shares that she met her boyfriend thanks to Ciara, and noted that the album is a nod to Houston, Texas.

Very weird, but unfortunately, a lot of people make it their business to humble Black women. Especially when they are talented and/or intelligent.

the narrative that she’s already missed her moment and that it’s too late and there’s no point to her dropping a project just reads off as hate, there’s so much that happened to her behind the scenes and plenty more that we probably don’t know that has affected her release, it’s a double standard they don’t place on non black people (more specifically black women) who are in similar situations to her

Thank you Ebro!!! You gave Mani the opportunity to open up and truly speak!!! She looks so comfortable! You’re always cheering her on. You asked great questions, had knowledge and background on Normani. You are a true host! This is a phenomenal interview! I love DOPAMINE! It’s in rotation every second of my day! I love Rockstar Mani “Little Secrets” is one of my favorites, out of so many gems that you gave us. I can’t wait to she you live for the 3rd time, when the tour starts. You gave us a beyond solid work of art. I am so proud. It’s been a struggle, but the true Nation understands. Some days I barely feel like getting out of bed, and both of my parents are in good health, this does not even factor in other aspects of life that are difficult. You are loved, and blessed. I pray for nothing but abundance in life, peace, joy, love, and health for the Hamilton family and grandma Barbara!

Just goes to show that even the brightest of stars have their dim moments. You never know what somebody is going through, and it was unfair of us to hold her to such a high standard, because we were obsessed with her potential, rather than seeing her as a human being. You can tell that she was so excited to release new music, but she set her own priorities and boundaries, which we need to respect. But it's official: NORMANI IS HERE TO STAY! Let me tell you, Dopamine was worth tf wait! A solid 9/10 for me. Idc where it charts, idc how many streams or sales it logs in. I'm just so happy that she finally got to release her first official body of work. It's only up from here if she stays consistent, and works with a team/label that helps push her even more

Normani , I would’ve done the same thing as you did .. I would’ve dropped everything for my family … you only have time with your family once … you can make albums anytime . Love you Mani ❤️

I could really tear up watching this interview. Normani is a different person than she was when she started her solo journey and I’m so thankful for that! The growth, & confidence, is soo beautiful to see since 2018. You can tell she cares SO MUCH, but also does not gaf… which is ultimately where her artistry shines, and where it will continue to shine the brightest. I’m so proud of this girl as if she was blood! Congrats on everything, I can’t wait to see what like has in store because YOU are anointed.

Both my parents were also diagnosed with late stage cancer, one in 2019 and the other in 2020. Praise God they are still here, but it hasn't been easy.

Hearing Normani’s story about her going through all this pain with her parents and her mental health, phew. I feel it! Her debut album “Dopamine” was really worth the wait! I’ve been following Normani’s journey since her Fifth Harmony days/solo career! I still will continue to follow her career!
