Do your ecostrike center-fire cartridges use lead free primers? I am having a hard time finding ammo with both lead free bullets and lead free primers

True - some military using them for years 👍🏻 deeper/better penetration capabilities

In the UK we have already switched to lead free for Deer by law, monolithic copper inside sensible distances for Deer hunting works absolutely fine. But 22LR I am not sure we have a valid solution yet? This is the one that concerns me because I lose my subsonic shooting capabilities for vermin control which is one of the main reasons lead works so well as it expands at these lower velocities, also the twist rate of 22LR 1:16 is perhaps not the best for stabilising the lighter copper bullets? We need a valid subsonic 22LR lead free in the UK.

Thanks Norma, I've never had any trouble with any of your products - projectiles, brass or factory loaded ammunition. Haven't tried any of your powder yet but I'm sure that will be good stuff as well.

Problem with lead free is terminal performance degradation at distance because the materials used are dependent on mechanical expansion via hydraulic action. Speed is key so old mild cartridges of days gone by which do not produce high speed will have problems with terminal performance at traditional hunting distances. Short answer go lighter than traditional lead and keep it close.

What you wrote is absolute KZbin parrot mouthing BS which has been proven by Barns bullets their bullet can open at little as 800 FPS. Barns even has a video of a TSX bullet exiting a grape with the bullet in full expansion. Idiots who refuse to accept lead free bullets come up with all kinds of lies about lead-free bullets that can be busted very easy.

@@rickpowell7550 finally some1 on here speaking sense! Leadfree bullets are a pile of shit. Not to mention that this idea that lead in gut piles just harms the environment so bad. False! Not enough lead left in a guy pile to hurt nothing. One animal would have to eat nothing but contaminated gut piles for a year or more to matter

If you apply hunting skills to hunting rather than just shooting non lead is fine

Hello mate, yes, speed/the resistance the bullet faces seems to be especially important for certain sort of lead frees to expand. But as you point out, the tough monos are so tough that it allows for lighter weights than what used to be the standard. So suddenly a 100gr mono deer suited bullet from a 6.5x55 might now be fired at what used to be 270 speeds. Likewise a 270, (now shooting 110 grns at deer instead of 130s) might go at close to magnum speeds. So going light actually allows the old medium sized cartridges to exactly shoot the hard monos at high(er) speed, thus keeping them relevant, i'd suggest. Would you not agree?

I hunt whitetail deer with a 270 win. I wanted EcoStrike, but I cannot find it in the US for 270 Win. I bought EvoStrike. Should I aim for a neck shot? I fear a chest shot might damage too much meat from the fragments going everywhere.

Simply, then buy Barnes bullets!
@hikenmikes8262 Жыл бұрын
No…you don’t need a neck shot. A behind the shoulder, double-lung shot will expire the animal quickly…much quicker than a Barnes bullet

so is denmark going to reimberce the millions of rounds that people paid for . i imagine there are hunters and shooters that will still shoot lead. norma still makes lead core bullets, are they going to cancel them as well. what about the penciling issues with copper bullets when they dont expand properly. there is also the problem with copper poisoning .what about the posibilities of people swallowing copper shards that may cut into there intestines or break a tooth chewing down on a piece of copper or brass.i guess well see what happens long term. i know that they have bullets that shed copper shards or petals in game meat .shooting in balistic gel is still completly different than shooting an animal thats pumped up on adrenlin.an animal is not made of balistic gel,rather muscle with different structues ,sinew,bone,liquids. we will see how much meat is destroyed by bloodshot meat due to hydraulic shock,field sports britain recomended in there vids to shoot animals in the neck to avoid this.

Shooting game in the neck is highly risky. A slight movement or small shooter error could end in a disaster if the bullet misses spine or artery and just damages the feeding tube. Our shot strike series here on the channel talks about this (4 th episode head shot) . All our bullets are extremely well made. We would like to showcase and proof our superior quality therefore we will launch a new series where ist not only about shooting gel blocks :) Lead bullets will not be cancelled by us that’s for sure. Regarding the mentioned issues of swallowing bullet parts: The hunter who dresses the game and prepares it for the plate needs to be skilled and educated. He or she has to check the meat parts not only for objects but also for illnesses I.e. Bullet fragments can appear with lead or leadfree bullets. To minimize this risk we have the best bonding technology in the world and we use the highest quality components out there. All the best and good hunting - team Norma

Just say no to mandated lead free ammo. It's just another way to price out the common man from hunting. Lead has been used for centuries without any issues with lead poisoning in humans.

I hear you about rejecting bans, but there is no safe amount of lead exposure, and that includes both handling and firing lead bullets. It can be detected in the air in indoor firing ranges and on surfaces where guns and gun supplies are stored. For your own sake, do not stop at eye and ear protection. Avoid lead exposure to your skin and lungs.

Banning lead...why? It isn't to stop people eating game being poisoned, cos they arn't. Banning lead rifle amunition because of environmental poisoning, no because it dosn't. Ban lead to try and stop shooting that will be a reason.
