Norse Kayaks Bylgja

Just looked at some Norse Kayaks. They had several of them at our local outfitters/kayak store. They looked fantastic! Very comfortable and of excellent quality. Unfortunately, every single one had gel coat cracks at the ends of the skeg box. After doing some research, I found that this is an issue with these boats. According to Norse Kayaks, it has to do with the way they package the boats for shipping. Seems fishy to me. I was super disappointed…really wanted to get this boat. Now it’ll likely be a Zegul Reval.

I have this kayak! Love it!!! Pack amazing for long trips, tracks great and does really well in big wind and waves.

Guys, I have a Norse Bylgja. The skeg cannot 100%be retracted into the hull. Is this a problem?
