Intro Music: Odinn by Danheim
Patreon Benefits:
Warrior ($5)- Access to community Discord
Shieldbrother/sister ($10)- Livestreams
Jarl ($15)- Name in Credits, Early Access videos
All proceeds from Patreon, KZbin, and Teespring go to supporting the creation of 2 videos a week, the running of The Folk Podcast and the organizing of community gatherings.
The Wisdom of Odin is a vlog of my journey through Norse Paganism, a way to assist others along their journey, and a place to promote a positive image for all of paganism.
While I personally declare myself as a Norse Pagan, I speak on topics that also involve aspects of Asatru, Heathenry, and other pagan identities such as Slavic/Celtic/Germanic paganism.
The Wisdom of Odin is not associated or affiliated with any orginizations religious or politcial in nature. This channel/community is inclusive to all but is also non-political.
All gatherings held through the Wisdom of Odin and its extended community are private events held and organized by the members of the community. The only service the Wisdom of Odin provides is a place to connect with others of similar beliefs in the old ways.

I had several people mention that the audio on this video was low. It doesn't appear to have effected everyone. However it was enough that I am releasing this version that has boosted audio. It does not have HDR so it won't look as vibrant. However I do believe the length of this video combined with the HDR was the reason for this happening on certain devices. kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJbKlmqVobdqfNU

I, having been raised Roman catholic happened upon the knowledge of Odin finding it more aligned with the fortitude in my heart. I'm not much for groveling at anyone's feet. Odin doesn't want you on your knees he wants you to be a warrior. And I have fought my battles the best l knew how, including but not limited to the cancer in my brain. It is the fight before me! May l see you in Valhalla, we will have horns of mead!

I have been called to Odin's wisdom hardcore lately. I can't ignore the signs. I was always pagan but not a Norse pagan. My dad, a long time heathen, says "you do not want the attention of the gods" but I can't ignore it. So here we are.
@Pastamist
@Pastamist Жыл бұрын
He may not be wrong. If Odin shows up to you, you have something he wants, which is very dangerous. Loki is something akin to a vaté, or a hearth guardian, but he’s two-faced and ultimately serves himself; Thor is a bit more on the honest side. He’s more relatable and grounded, being a god of the workers, but his temper is terrible, and the blood on his hands (and hammer) is nothing to scoff at. If a human, a mere man of Midgard has the attention of higher beings beyond the realm within Asgard, it’s like advanced civilizations finding out less sophisticated people exist, like the white settlers and native Americans. It *could* be beneficial and interesting, or it could end very terribly.

i experienced similar, i was 27, i had no belief or faith, i was scared and had so many responsibilities to people who loved me and depended on me, i was in need of power, bravery,truth and reisurance, all father found me, i spent over a year reading and researching as i feared he was the reaper coming to warn me my time was limited, in that moment of visually perceiving this being, withing the jackets hung on my bedroom door i was so frightened, but instant thought subtle and smooth" no fear, see true" came into my frantic mind, and i truly just went calm and so tired like an anaesthetic had been given, the next day was the start of my reading and writing and my mind suddenly became alive, interested, and real with excitement and sure feeling that whatever was coming, i was made to handle it and if i allow i can evolve and be more of who im here to become, from then i took leaps of faith, said yes more to options, i felt i had my father who was the universe at my back even when i fell, my wee mum, raised brutally in the 50s in a catholic childrens home, she found hope and something she resonated with for the first time at 55 years old! we moved to the country, with my 3 children, in my open, mind i found meaning and truth and now i have found far more and expanded exponentially, while knowing we dont truly know anything, i just allowed myself to feel and each day thank our allfather for opening the gate and guiding me to a new reality of wonder and still pain and such but now i can manage knowing what ive been shown, to be 15 and shown the way is uplifting to hear, thankyou for sharing

*Allow me to share something with you all to explain that this faith is very much alive!* 😊 Did you know that here at my coast in Norway, we still speak like 60% of the same tongue as they did in 750 A.D? Same with the way we write. From my grandfather’s 370 year old house and all the way down to the sea, there are viking graves and items👌🏻. Other Norwegians barely understand us, and there is some very good reasons for that. The coast that I live at, has been called the coast of savage fishermen for 100s of years. During Norway’s 434 year long period under Danish control, our coast was not effected that much by the big changes. Not even when the Swedish made us union from 1814 - 1905. The sea, forests and our specific location saved us from a lot of changes which the rest of Norway had no chance to withstand. The old ways are kept deep within our hearts. Traditions and life itself is by the ancient ways at my coast. Parts of Denmark, Sweden have also kept this faith. Especially Iceland! Honor The Gods & Take Care! 🇳🇴🇮🇸🇸🇪🇩🇰🍻🍄

@@cillianranngarsson2762Blood is for kin. But man can select what ever path. And if it leads him on our road, he is welcome. Odin is with us. Not to bless or necessarily keep us out from harm's way/keep us safe. But provide us with what we need to become so. It's up to us if we use it right to make the best of the outcome. Our strength in situations we meet, will be tested. He will provide the true followers with that strength. Which isn't always the amount of what we can lift. May Thor give you the right challenges for you to grow and build you on the strength that comes with experience. A heavy breath while walking the wind's way, will blend right in and never be felt. It will be forgotten by you, yourself within a short period of time. But turn around, and the wind will run into your face. May Odin build your mind strong like Fenrir's eyes in every situation you meet and make you wiser for days to come. Cuz no man is fully schooled. May Tyr run through your blood when ever someone crosses a line. May you also look another way when the situation is right for doing so. He will notice that aswell and smile. May you keep these ancient powers and effect those who walks alongside you. A making of a warrior. Not to be given a blessing, but to earn it by the tests of Hel. Thats what separates you from those who will never have the God's eyes upon them. Skål brother🍻 What im saying is, I wish you well too😀

Also I wanted to say I value your videos SO MUCH because you always prioritize the sources and give a realist way to interpret texts. You try to speak using several viewpoints and it shows (for good). Other people may just do a quick "the god of x, he likes x and this is a famous story" and like we don't get much real material besides a bedtime story and basic info we already know. So thank you for all the research! It is much appreciated.

Odin is so important to me, he is the Allfather and sometimes things in his stories might not make a lot of sense to us, maybe that part we are not supposed to get yet, he is the Allfather and maybe by today standards he gets super misunderstood, but it's because they are deeper levels of understanding things he wants to share and we are not ready yet to get them... being wise it's not about how much you know is how you use that knowledge, so becomes hard to explain...but keep going and you might get the answers you need or not depends on what are you willing to do to get the sight to see and to get that wisdom....

This is a big reason why I like the channel, with exception of videos that require more of it, throughout the entire video you focus on the facts that are there instead giving your opinion as a fact. To this day I don't know whether it was real or a vision, the one-eyed security guard who asked me questions and gave me advice that continues to occupy me to this day. Magic is real! Having a clear and strong intention and belief in something does affect reality. This is how magic has always been used, a ritual to affect your faith to create a desired result. I've had real weird experiences once I suspend disbelief and short circuit my rationality, and getting away from other people definitely seems to increase this effect. And you will definitely experience this once you become firm in your belief of the magic of the Vikings.

Actually Norse mythology is just the Holy Bible written in another form and yes, the gods are actually certain humans, gods are angels and the GOD OF gods known in Norse religion, Odin, is Michael in the Abrahamic religions, period. Strangely my name is Michael and my surname is identical to one of Odin's many names, Michael and Odin are both linked to THE END OF THE WORLD OR ARMAGEDDON and are indeed one and the same 121🔥🔥🦂🦂⚔⚔⚔⚔

Love the information. P.s. his name is pronounced O-th-in-n D in Icelandic makes the 'th' sound. And the N is the predominant sound.

"Veit ek at ek hekk vindga meidi a" translates to: "Do i know that i hung on a windy meidi (tree)" Some of the whats the first line in the Haavaamaal # 138 indicates and some of the clues it lits. A rhetorical question whitch shows to a dreamy state of mind. Windy pictures a horisontal sway or latitude. Meidi ,since its the only time mention and used in the sagas, might aswell suggest its a pyramide,or the practical use of it,the symbolic tree of life. To restore the wasteland on earth after a space asterroid,comet impact

Our world was created around the world of the old gods... Germaniac tribes even spread it loong before the romans arrived in west Europe... Meanwhile the Northmen also worshiped even harder! Odin is our true roots... Its incredible.

I grew up raised on Christian beliefs. My mom would have a fit if she knew that, not only am I struggling with the beliefs she tried to instill in me but also that Norse Mythology and Paganism seems more aligned with how I feel in my heart. Honestly though, it does not matter to me what someone believes; if they are a good person, who has no intention of harming others, then they should believe and worship as they wish. Has anyone else had an internal struggle in wanting to move from a monotheistic upbringing to Norse Paganism? I guess I am just looking for advice, support, etc.

You're videos are very interesting, great job! I have a question regarding your backgrounds, do you take a picture and use it as a background or? It's obvious your not really at the stated location while filming, I am assuming studio recording due to weather or other unforeseen issues.

I honestly didn't know much about Odin before watching this video. I've always thought of him in the same way as the Supreme God in my Religion The King of Kings Zeus the Father. But after watching this I have better perspectives on Odin, thank you for this video I'm looking forward to learning more about the All Father.

A note on spells: Do they exist as described in the Havamal? I think so. If you read the runes, or believe in the power of bindrunes, you are doing a kind of magic similar to a spell, and already accept half of the magic learned by Wotan when he hung on the world tree. I'm not saying we have access to these spells, neither does Wotan say that to Loddfafnir, he's just saying he knows the spells.
