Norse-style Headboard Part 2: The Reveal

In this video, I attack the second half of the headboard build with the help of my collaborator Aimie Bottelho. More wood carving, Lots of forging of scrolls and whiplashes and, of course, some repousse in brass and bronze. A ton of hours and many, many components. A really intense project.

First timer here. Beautiful artwork. I think I'd be pretty trepidatious about using it as a headboard (pretty sure I'd impale myself on a spike). But as a room divider, it would be awesome!!!

I love the bronze collar. It puts me in mind of Anlgo Saxon designs, which the rest does not, so probably best without. What I do hate is the way you make it look so easy. 😂🤣😂

As for the collar question... Still think you need something along the lines of the collars to cover the weld lines, but how about in a matching material and finish as the leaves? With just a hint of color, but not enough to stand out.
