The story of people feeding pets at these sites made it worth the watch.

Jose , you want to know About North Port you can ask me. I lived here when there only a few thousand people here in the 70's. Those roads have been around there since the 60's early 70's. I doubt they are homeless camps, more like people dumping their trash. The area you showed you are right around a golf course and the area you were looking in the woods, is right by a shopping Plaza with a Walmart market place, a McDonalds , car wash an other places. A Publix is across the way and North Port city hall, police depth and the fire house are across that area.

One of the biggest problems here is that like everywhere else you get a run off of people no one wants around.

They need to bring restaurants and some nightlife there to entertain people. You move there and have to commute up to Saratoga or down to fort myers for some excitement.

My parents are North Port snowbirds, bought their brand new gated community villa in 2008. Took 7 years for them to regain equity because of bank crash. Until about 6 years ago, there was no traffic. Took 10 minutes to get to Venice beach. It takes 20-30 minutes now. House prices are not worth it. There will be a housing crash especially since today Fitch Ratings announced they are downgrading major banks. Gov. DeSantis is horrible but they love him. Where is that Hurricane money Casey DeSantis rules over?

North Port is where people who can't afford naples, venice, sarasota go. Just an observation.
@MikeRuh01 Жыл бұрын
Doubt it. The cost are not so different in prices. North Port may have been behind years ago. But has over taken Venice in population . Biggest problem they have is developers are more interested in putting in communities instead of putting more restaurants and other things to attract more business

North Port has gotten expensive as hell. And Sarasota & Naples are where a lot of millionaires have always lived. Venice ain't much higher up then N.P. So your point is almost obvious. N.P. is where my family has been since 1972 when 41 was 2 lanes & there was one traffic light in town. Grown like crazy which drives everything up.

You can tell the sites this guy visits are long abandoned because there isn't any items of value, and the trash is often sunbleached and half buried under new vegetation.

But like Lehigh Acres, many of these speculative developments are getting more interest and growth in recent years but still remain mostly empty. Erie looking place and neat episode. Thanks for sharing!

Florida was by far the most extreme but there were some similer speculative developments that remain mostly undeveloped all over the Southern and Western United States. California has one vast such community called "California City" which is an actual city out in the Desert east of Bakersfield.

People would have less issues with unhouse people, if they don’t leave trash around.
