I wish every documentary I watch that owes its survival to YT could be as good as this one. It's a fine example of a craft so often let slip by too many people who tell themselves they haven't got the time/money/ resources to do it right. This little gem should be a lesson to everyone who aspires to make documentaries and to make them well.

Watching my DVD of "Yankee Doodle Dandy" got me watching this video. I love old photos and movies from 90+ years ago. I'd love to hear or see the oldest surviving recording or footage of a Cohan musical.

For me this was a sort of return to youth. I was 6 in the fall of 1941, Just after school started - the 2nd world war started. I remember all the patriotic songs on the radio and in school assemblies. Then & there I first heard Harrigan, Grand old Flag, Yankee Doodle Dandy, and even Over There , Songs by G Miller and B. Goodman and T. Dorsey tho this is sorta O.T.. THANKS for the memories.

thank you for this..i always wanted to learn more about George m Cohan, if you can add any further videos and live clips even some with interviews that would be awesome... my family was musically talented but not on broadway or the big stage a personal note my grandfather who also lived in New York was apart of Vaudville, i dont know if he ever knew George cohan, but i know he got to meet and know the marx brothers a bit
