Anything that Hermann does is by definition amazing. The music lends to the aequence an eeerie, unreal quality, which I personally find awesome. On the other hand, stripping the scene entirely of its score lets it hang completely in the air, no guide of the time passing by, no real coherence of the montage - it makes it even more disturving and serves an even greater prepararion for THE re-entry of the music at the plane collision with the fuel truck.
