For more than a decade, the Magic of Friendship has held a special place in Bronies' hearts. Generation 4 may have ended, but it will never be forgotten. Now, it it is time we enter in "A New Generation". The best part about this experience is that I didn't come alone. I am joined by my new friends, the North Carolina Bronies. I think Hitch gets too much hate for telling Sunny he might lose him as a friend near the start. I mean it sounds like Sunny has been doing things like this for years, and yes, we know she is right but literally everyone else believes otherwise and like Hitch said she really has nothing to back up her claims except that her dad told her and even he apparently didn't have any real proof either. Plus Sunny did lie to Hitch when she promised she would try not to cause any problems. She clearly had no intention of keeping that promise

I'd argue that Argyle did have evidence to back up his claims. Limited evidence, because he had to work by himself, without any help, but he was doing research on the past. His notes and items in the lighthouse showed he had good understanding of the past, and it must have been based on stuff he found while researching the past. The issue is, ponies of Maretime Bay didn't care about proof or evidence. Just like modern people often don't - there could be mathematical proof of something, or solid physical evidence, but they can still ignore it because either they don't understand the proof, or - more likely - don't want to change their opinions and allegiances. People prefer to stick with their buddies even when they're wrong, rather than choose the truth if it would mean changing camps and joining 'the enemy'. As for Sunny, I gotta agree - she did some things that aren't exactly commendable. Lying, sabotaging the Canterlogic show... she could have done her protest outside, and sure, it would be ineffective (but what she did wasn't effective either), but at least it would be respectful of Phyllis's rights. Just because Phyllis was wrong doesn't mean Sunny had the right to burgle into her property (when she was expressly banned), or vandalize her show. Yay for teaching young viewers that this is what heroes and protagonists do xD ... ok, this is a bit tongue-in-cheek. No protagonist is perfect, and should they be?

Although, I suppose Argyle's research and any evidence he had would apply to the past Equestria. It does seem like his knowledge of modern unicorns and pegasi, and if they were friendly or not, was somewhat... limited. Which is a plot hole, we never get any explanation why he didn't just go and see for himself*. So yeah, if we're talking about claims that modern unicorns and pegasi are friendly, then indeed Argyle didn't have proof to back his claims. * (the best I can think of is he didn't want to leave Sunny alone, under another adult's care, yet he thought she was too young to take with him on the journey)

It's actually an easy process @@Zacman1123. Just film yourself, download a file of the video you're reacting to, go to iMove, put the video in "Picture in Picture", make sure the video you're reacting to is in sync with the actual reaction, and then upload/post. I think when a film manages to distract you from how mediocre it is, then that makes it a good movie in my opinion, even a cynical British person like me found this movie tons of fun, to the point where I didn't care about the issues, obviously its not perfect but I think the issues are easily fixable in the series, you must remember how much more time for character development and story arcs are in TV shows compared to a movie, so I think the fact they kept things simple and predictable was a stylistic choice that will benefit the actual series in the long term even if it leads to the film getting mediocre reviews from critics, overall an unperfect film but I honestly don't care 1 because it leaves the upcoming series with stuff to capitalise on and 2 its a feel good movie which we all need once in a while, and it managed to be that without making me cringe (something Gen 4 failed to do for me on some occasions) I'm optimistic that the brand is in good hooves for the moment, and for the Gen 4 purists, Friendship is Magic is still around, thats not going anywhere

41:23 That music. I don't know how to describe it, but ever since that music played at opening of the movie with the Mane 6, I get this warm fuzzy nostalgia feeling. Like my chest is like bursting out for joy whenever I hear it. This fantasy like, enchanting, mystical expression I'm feeling everytime I hear it. Like here, when Twilight's cutie mark appeared on the stained window and that music played, I suddenly felt moved. Touched. It is as if the music is reminiscing the era of G4 with the memories of the Mane 6 leaving a big impression to it. I feel like when I hear this enchanting flute music, I could feel the presence of the Mane 6. I was so moved by the enchantment and beautiful sound that I wanna cry tears of joy. May sound cringe but that's just how I feel of what I hear after growing up with Friendship is Magic. To me, is this score that marks a big impact into my soul.

So, at the start of 2023, my favorites are Zip and Hitch, for being RD and Fluttershy without the more annoying extremes of those characters. Hitch also gets extra points for being essentially a single father. I don't have kids myself, but I babysit my sister's little boys often and I feel the guy.

Whatever happened to the original “My Little Pony: The Movie” G1? They haven’t made an audience reaction to the original 1986 MLP movie. That original was a guilty pleasure, because it has a star studded cast of voice actors like Danny DeVito, Rhea Perlman, Corrie Leachman, Tony Randall and Nancy Cartwright who did the voice of the original Spike before she became the voice of Bart Simpson that we all know and love. The main part of the film is where the ponies are battling the slimy monster called the Smooze. The three human characters were Megan, Danny and Molly. I hope one day they might be considering doing an audience reaction to the original “My Little Pony: The Movie” from 1986, be on a lookout for it.

@@cherylmingo5206 yeah I won’t watch g5 episodes anytime soon, it’s mixed honestly, but that doesn’t mean it’s bad, however, it was unnecessary to make it as a sequel, only time will tell if it will be super good because g4 stood the test of time and showed the critics that they were wrong, hell g4 was also awesome from the moment it began at episode 1 season 1 just from watching episode 1 for the first time all those years ago I knew that it had a bright future because it was a completely new setting and new characters that we loved, plus it attracted millions of fans worldwide of different ages and truly spread the magic of friendship in a disunited human world. I wish someday I’ll go to an mlp convention or I find more friends who are into it, sadly I haven’t been to an mlp convention. Anyways my point is that mlp fim will always be on top!

Sorry to tell you this, Hitch made a valid point. She is just bringing out theories, we didn't see any unicorns or pegasi, neither did any of the ponies in Maretime Bay. For all we could have known, Fillis was right. Hitch made a point 'You think a little speech is going to magically change everyone's mind? You are saying there is nothing to fear, so prove it.' Hitch has been there for her, she would be in prison 50 times over for sabotaging and BREAKING THE LAW! Yet he is always sticking his neck out for her. She promised him she would behave and betrayed his trust. Ánd judging by their interactions, this was not the first time that Sunny did so. He has every right to tell her off and be like. 'Look, stop making my job harder and abusing your position as my friend, otherwise, we aren't friends anymore. And considering the reactions we see of the Pegasi and Unicorns, the Earth Ponies had every right to be racist cause everyone else was as well, EVERYONE needed a wake-up call, not just the Earth Ponies.

i like how, in the first half of the movie (after Sunny lets Izzy go from one of the city traps), Hitch is so set on putting Sunny behind bars and labeling her as a criminal, but after the campfire scene, he just kinda forgets about it. i know Sunny basically proved to everybody that all 3 pony tribes can be united again, but the movie straight-up ESTABLISHES she's been breaking the law for god knows how long since Argyle died, and Hitch keeps sticking up for her. honestly, if i were him, i would've been like: "i know you're my friend, Sunny, but you're also a criminal so enough is enough! you're going to jail for a long time!"

@@NikoZguri Her crime was manifold yes, but there is also a sense of meritocracy there. She was right, she could end generations of fear and mistrust if she was able to prove it after she finally decided to do so. I think there is a greek fable where Hermes stole a bunch of Apollo's sacred cattle when he was still a baby and to escape punishment, he gave Apollo the first lyre. It fits the proverb of 'it is best to ask forgiveness rather then permission.' Sunny wasn't entirely wrong, just a bit misguided at the beginning, attempting to sway the hearts and minds of people with no proof. But she learned from what Hitch told her, when she freed Izzy, she didn't try and convince the other Earth Ponies, because she knew Hitch was right, they would not trust her, so they set out to learn and fix all the problems that plagued the current divide which was being propagated by all sides.

Putting my 2 major issues with gen 5 aside, I have to say it's pretty good. I do like it. My 2 major issues with gen 5 are what most people's dislike of gen 5 is fueled by. I will get the greater of the 2 out of the way first. Although, they are kind of interconnected. #1 connecting gen 5 canonically to gen 4. It's a problem because since they connected the 2, it is basically saying that all of the Mane 6's (and co.) work to spread friendship eventually faded into nothing. And idk about you but that is unacceptable to me. Sure they inspired Sunny's dad, Sunny, and Izzy to spread friendship again but, I thought they'd have a longer lasting effect on every creature. My second issue is this. In canonically connecting gen 5 to gen 4, they created a continuity error in the very design of the gen 5 ponies. In gen 5 they only have they're cutie marks on their right flanks. Which is weird since the first scene is establishing that they exist in the same world with ponies who have cutie marks on both flanks. Maybe it's lack of magic but that makes no sense. So, it feels like a blatant oversight. Or at least, a design choice solely based on the need to take out an extra step when making and selling toys. In other words a cash grab. These reasons are why I rejected this generation for so long. But I admit, they are making good films for it. So, I'm starting to like it.
