As someone who is looking for less cities, less partying, peace and quiet, hiking, and no neighbors.. The upstate in SC wins for me. Less taxes, and still very close to hiking... Unless there's a town I'm not aware of in NC

I love my Greenville SC. Right in between Charlotte and Atlanta, beautiful downtown, and beautiful lakes. Lake Keowee is beautiful and Lake Joccasse with mountains. I moved from NC to SC and am very happy with the decision. Not a big fan of the eastern side of the state, but love the Upstate

I've now lived in the Carolinas for 35 years and it's been good for me, and my family. Then again it's all in what you make it there are better and worse places. I never had allergies before living here but am now blessed with both spring & fall allergies. My power also goes out a few times a year so make sure you are prepared for those situations. I have met many nice people both from here and those who relocated here. Probably best to explore the different areas and see if it might be a good fit for your situation. FLY NAVY!!!

I live in Greenville sc underdog city gets not the recognition for its downtown parks and recreations is why people moving and attracted to Greenville, lake keowee and Hartwell upstate is really nicer than much of the state. True the coast has all the tourist and beaches. Columbia is not even impressive at all but gets recognition
@LivinginCharlotteNC-Vlog2 ай бұрын
Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Greenville! It truly is an underrated gem, with a beautiful downtown, great parks, and access to incredible spots like Lake Keowee and Lake Hartwell. The upstate area has a charm and natural beauty that’s hard to beat. While the coast may get more attention for its beaches, Greenville has a unique appeal and quality of life that’s attracting more and more people who appreciate what this vibrant community has to offer.

I have heard that the "sweet spot" is moving to Indian Land or Ft. Mill for the lower property taxes, but the proximity to Ballantyne and Charlotte is fabulous, so that you get the best of both worlds. Your thoughts on these 2 towns? Which do you prefer over all?
@LivinginCharlotteNC-Vlog10 ай бұрын
I like Indian Land + Fort Mill. Fort Mill is more developed and has more things to do. The avg price is also higher in Fort Mill. Both give you great proximity to Ballantyne and the Charlotte area :)

Thanks for the video! Overall we prefer N. Carolina as well but one of the most important factors for us is schools. We love the Ballantyne area for many reasons, namely top notch schools, but the price of real estate there is too much. Left Charlotte, NC for Fort Mill, SC 15 and never looked back. Can't believe you left out Greenville, SC. School districts in SC are much better than NC. Charlotte/Meck has 1 very large school district the is very administrative heavy. York County SC has 4 districts that are much smaller and more responsive to student needs.

Why greenville gets downplayed when it comes to sc surveys
@MyPrez45456 ай бұрын
I watched another video about South Carolina and it brought up. Greensville talked about it for a few minutes. It’s absolutely beautiful. I love the mountain scenery. Unfortunately it’s far from the beach, but I guess you could take a weekend and spend it at the beach.
@LivinginCharlotteNC-Vlog2 ай бұрын
Good question! Greenville may get less attention in surveys because coastal cities like Charleston often draw the spotlight. However, with its vibrant downtown, parks, and mountain views, Greenville is quickly being recognized as one of South Carolina’s hidden gems.

And it's all strictly car dependent, So that means stroads like Two notch road hell hole in Cola, the road to Folly Beach in James Island for example litter the state. 100% pass. Recently went to Hilton Head last March/April, the traffic was absolutely insane. 45 mins of sitting in traffic just to get off the island. Absolutely miserable. 100% pass on the entirety of the state, and I didn't even mention how everyone drives mega SUVs and fullsize trucks they don't need, wonderful people to deal with on the reg.
