To me, the charm of the North Island would be the 'rustic luxury'. Which has been successfully maintained I suppose... until the founder sold the business to a corporate hotelier. Now, I wonder how long such delicate quality can be sustained under the new management. I've never been there nor I would so far due to the cost VS experience ratio. But, I've been dreaming to be there someday for many years, but I'm getting worried that I may have missed the good times to visit the paradise... Especially after watching their promotional clips recently.
